Ren Chu planned to arrange a surprise birthday party for Lu Wanwan, enlisting Fan Yi's help. Fan Yi gathered Wang Xinyu and Wang Yuyang to discuss the details, with Wang Xinyu emphasizing that it was a top-secret "super surprise." Meanwhile, Ren Chu accompanied Lu Wanwan to the airport to see Liang Xia off.
Lu Wanwan gave Liang Xia a package of medicines and thanked her for the frank conversation on the rooftop that gave her the courage to confess to Ren Chu. An Jiaxian also arrived to give Liang Xia a new blanket and say his goodbyes. After a farewell hug, Lu Wanwan gave the two some private time.
Lu Wanwan, in turn, wanted to host a meaningful farewell party for Ren Chu before his exchange studies, planning it as a surprise on her own birthday, May 24. Aware of her intentions, Ren Chu secretly instructed Gu Qiao to act as a "double spy." Gu Qiao was to pretend to help Lu Wanwan while actually leading her to the birthday party Ren Chu was preparing, creating a double surprise.
Gu Qiao suggested an immersive murder mystery game for the farewell party, showing Lu Wanwan an ad for an ancient-style courtyard venue. When Lu Wanwan worried about the cost, Gu Qiao pretended she had won a free pass. Lu Wanwan was thrilled, and they discussed script options. On the day of the event, Gu Qiao led Lu Wanwan to the venue, secretly updating Ren Chu on their progress. Upon arrival, they found Ren Chu already in costume.
He revealed his surprise: he had chosen the script "A Wedding Night Thriller" and asked Lu Wanwan to be his bride. After Lu Wanwan changed into a stunning bridal outfit, they reviewed their roles: Wang Xinyu was the groom's long-lost sister, Meng Xibai was the disapproving father, Fan Yi was the bride's family guard, Gu Qiao was a male guest with a special connection to the bride, and Wang Yuyang comically played the matchmaker.
The game's objective was to find the bride's missing phoenix coronet and identify the thief. Instead of searching for clues, Lu Wanwan enjoyed walking around with Ren Chu and eating cake. He playfully teased that she must have hidden the coronet because she didn't want to marry him. Flustered, she ran off and quickly found the coronet in the garden, after which the game system instructed her to wait for the auspicious time.
Meanwhile, Wang Yuyang, tired from playing his role, fell asleep in a sedan chair. Mistaking him for Lu Wanwan, Meng Xibai and Fan Yi carried the chair away, believing it was part of a hidden task. Later, Ren Chu entered the bridal chamber and delivered a heartfelt speech to the veiled figure he believed was Lu Wanwan, explaining the surprise was all for her. However, upon lifting the veil, he was shocked to find Wang Yuyang.
Ren Chu eventually found the real Lu Wanwan, who had been completing a task outside. They returned to the room to perform the wedding rituals. Ren Chu, joking that he had already rehearsed the ceremony once, lifted her veil. They drank the "cross-cupped wine," which turned out to be strong liquor. Lu Wanwan, who became intoxicated after one sip, humorously promised not to strip his clothes this time, and they shared a romantic night.
The next morning, Ren Chu wished Lu Wanwan a happy birthday again and gave her a meteorite ring, symbolizing their eternal bond. As she was moved by the gesture, she suddenly felt a sharp abdominal pain. They rushed to the hospital, where Meng Xibai diagnosed her with an acute appendicitis attack requiring immediate surgery. Ever the dedicated pre-med student, Lu Wanwan even tried to grab her phone to film the procedure before being wheeled into the operating room.
A month later, after Lu Wanwan had fully recovered, Ren Chu took her to the aquarium. He presented her with his old "Rumor Elimination Plan" document, declaring he was ready to take responsibility for accidentally falling in love with her for the rest of his life. Lu Wanwan playfully renamed it the "Love Developing Plan," and they both signed it, sealing their agreement with a sweet kiss.
