Lu Wanwan woke up in her dorm after a dream where she was intimately interacting with Ren Chu. Her roommate, Qiaoqiao, informed her that she had been completely out of control while drunk the previous night, hugging, kissing, and even biting the dormitory teacher, creating a public spectacle in the hallway. This revelation made Lu Wanwan deeply concerned about her behavior with Ren Chu.
She later thanked the dormitory teacher, only to learn that she had also torn Ren Chu's clothes, forcing him to walk back to his dorm in just a tank top. Shortly after, Ren Chu texted her to come to the lab, which filled Lu Wanwan with dread, as she feared he was going to settle scores. Upon her arrival, Ren Chu asked how she slept, causing her to panic.
However, he instead apologized, explaining he had mistakenly given her strong alcohol, leading to her intoxication. Relieved, Lu Wanwan feigned nonchalance. Ren Chu's senior lab mates then asked for her help in buying new clothes for a scientific research competition to improve their image, now that Ren Chu had joined their team. Lu Wanwan saw this as a chance to compensate Ren Chu and decided to buy him a new white shirt.
Meanwhile, Ren Chu reflected on his strategy to improve Lu Wanwan's psychological resilience, aiming to become an indispensable person in her life. One of his lab mates humorously warned him not to let their interactions turn into a teacher-student romance. Elsewhere, Ren Chu sent a robot to deliver food to his roommate Fan Yi, who had a leg injury. Fan Yi, looking disheveled, was then mortified to run into Qiaoqiao and quickly fled before she could speak to him.
Later, when Lu Wanwan pressed Ren Chu for details about her drunken behavior, she had a flashback. She had tried to "absorb the essence of the sun and the moon" by touching the ground and had playfully attempted to get Ren Chu to take off his socks and clothes to join her. Meanwhile, talented dancer Wang Xinyu was demoted from her lead role in a rehearsal after her new relationship with Meng Xibai caused her to miss practice.
Unaware of her struggles, Meng Xibai suggested inviting Ren Chu and Lu Wanwan to her upcoming "Swan Lake" performance, making Wang Xinyu visibly uncomfortable. Later, he urged her to pursue her own interests rather than always conforming to his, but she insisted she genuinely enjoyed their time together. During her shopping trip, Lu Wanwan "accidentally" purchased an extra shirt while consolidating payments. Noticing it was Ren Chu's size, she offered it to him, and he accepted.
Ren Chu then took her to a dessert shop to sign her up for the Chef Challenge. He explained that baking could be a safe way to build her confidence and psychological fortitude, a necessary first step for her to eventually leave the clinical medicine program. Overwhelmed, Lu Wanwan expressed fear of failure and developing a phobia of baking. Ren Chu reassured her, reiterating his promise to be her personal tutor, and she reluctantly signed up.
At the Baking Club, her nervousness resulted in what she called "garbage" desserts. She found Ren Chu at the swimming club and begged to withdraw. He shared a personal story about conquering his fear of water by learning to swim after nearly drowning as a child, advising her to face her problems head-on. He insisted he had a plan. Ren Chu took her to the school canteen and identified the most critical students as ideal taste-testers.
He brought three of them to the Baking Club, where they gave her desserts an average score of 95 out of 100. Elated, Lu Wanwan praised Ren Chu, who encouraged her to be more confident. On the day of the Chef Challenge, a traffic jam made them late. At the competition, Ren Chu acted as her assistant, calmly guiding her.
Although she ran out of time and failed the challenge, Ren Chu congratulated her, asserting that she had already won by staying composed and efficient despite the delay, demonstrating newfound psychological strength. He likened their collaboration to a surgery, with him as her nurse. This jogged Lu Wanwan’s memory, and she finally understood.
A flashback revealed her drunkenly dragging Ren Chu to a classroom, insisting on performing a "surgery" and trying to take his white shirt to use as a "surgical gown," which she called her "faith." As a reward, Ren Chu surprised Lu Wanwan with a professional oven he bought with his scholarship money. She protested that she had lost and the gift was too expensive, but he insisted it was his responsibility for pushing her to enter. Later, recalling Qiaoqiao’s advice that not rejecting physical closeness with a man often indicates romantic feelings, Lu Wanwan pondered if she had fallen for Ren Chu.
