Fu Guoqiang sought out Jing Zhixia, asking her to leave Fu Zeyi. He offered her any amount of money she desired. Unexpectedly, Jing Zhixia arrived with her own money, asking Fu Guoqiang to tell Fu Zeyi to leave her instead. She stated that if Fu Zeyi returned her shares, she would not only leave him but also allow the Fu family to keep her money. Seeing an opportunity to profit, Fu Guoqiang quickly agreed.
However, Fu Zeyi suddenly appeared, throwing Jing Zhixia's money into the swimming pool. He firmly declared that nothing could change without his consent. Jing Zhixia was furious that her money was in the pool. Fu Guoqiang then clarified to Fu Zeyi that the money was for Jing Zhixia to buy back her shares of Aizhe Hotel. Realizing his mistake, Fu Zeyi retrieved the money from the pool.
As Jing Zhixia reached for her bag, Fu Zeyi pulled her into the water with him. After they got out, Fu Zeyi used a hairdryer to dry Jing Zhixia’s soaking hair, a gesture that touched her. Nevertheless, she still went to meet Fu Guoqiang again to finalize the share redemption. This time, Fu Guoqiang was less assertive and even invited her to a meal.
After Jing Zhixia left the meeting, she told Fu Zeyi that while his father was astute, she had noticed his memory seemed to be failing. Just then, someone informed Fu Zeyi that Fu Guoqiang had fainted. Fu Zeyi rushed to his father's side. A doctor examined Fu Guoqiang and concluded that his syncope was due to excessive stress.
Concerned about his father's memory and the possibility of him not recognizing visitors, Fu Zeyi asked Jing Zhixia to help organize the family photo albums so his father could identify guests and their names. Jing Zhixia meticulously reorganized the albums, adding notes, which proved helpful when guests subsequently visited. Fu Guoqiang, prioritizing the interests of The Fu Group, took the initiative to meet Mr. He to discuss future cooperation.
Mr. He was surprised that someone as proud as Fu Guoqiang would humble himself for Fu Zeyi's sake. After Fu Guoqiang's efforts, the cooperation agreement was signed. However, Fu Shengrong expressed strong dissatisfaction with the contract, which angered Fu Guoqiang, leading him to dismiss Fu Shengrong. Afterward, Fu Guoqiang thanked Fu Zeyi for Jing Zhixia’s help with the photo albums and gave Fu Zeyi full authority to decide on the Aizhe Hotel shares.
Fu Zeyi then approached Jing Zhixia with the agreement, returning her shares. Jing Zhixia found this gesture admirable and suggested they now had a "shareholder relationship." Fu Zeyi, however, desired a deeper connection, wanting them to take a step further than just friends. Later, Fu Zeyi visited the cemetery to pay respects to his late brother, Fu Zilin.
His Second Uncle, Fu Shengrong, unexpectedly appeared, scolding Fu Zeyi and blaming him for Fu Zilin's death, wishing Fu Zilin were still alive. Fu Shengrong then drove Fu Zeyi away and discarded the flowers Fu Zeyi had brought for his brother. Fu Zeyi recalled Fu Zilin's funeral when he was a child. Fu Shengrong had been hysterical, but his father had intervened, slapping Fu Shengrong and telling him not to argue with a child.
From that day on, the alternate personality, Lin, manifested within Fu Zeyi, and they began to share the same body. Jing Zhixia scheduled a meeting with Fu Zeyi, but it was Lin who showed up. Lin explained that Fu Zeyi was in a bad mood and refused to come out because the previous day was Fu Zilin’s death anniversary, and he had an unpleasant encounter with Second Uncle.
Lin preferred not to disclose the full story about Fu Zeyi and Fu Zilin to Jing Zhixia, promising that Fu Zeyi would tell her himself later. Determined to uncover the truth, Jing Zhixia apprehended Mo Ziqi, demanding he reveal what happened between Fu Zeyi and Fu Zilin. Under her threat, Mo Ziqi recounted the events of twenty years ago. A group of kidnappers intending to abduct Fu Zeyi unexpectedly took Fu Zilin as well.
During the abduction, Fu Zilin attempted to escape through the sunroof, but was tragically hit by a car on the road and died. This incident became the source of the deep-seated animosity and pain between the remaining family members. Meanwhile, Lin temporarily took over at the company to handle business. Although he tried to act like Fu Zeyi, he found the tasks challenging. In the restroom, Lin desperately urged Fu Zeyi to emerge.
Jian Bufan overheard him talking to himself in the mirror and was puzzled by Fu Zeyi's behavior. Separately, He Bei'er confronted Fu Shengrong, demanding that Fu Zeyi kneel and apologize to the He family. When Fu Shengrong protested, she threatened to accuse the Fu Group of infringement and demand compensation instead. Fu Shengrong attempted to manage the situation.
He Bei'er made it clear that while she wanted the two families to continue their cooperation, her demands were specifically targeted at Fu Zeyi. Fu Shengrong felt that they had no other choice but to concede.
