Fall in Love Episode 14 Recap
> Fall in Love Recap
Distraught over the perceived loss of Lin, Jing Zhixia drank alone at a bar. When Fu Zeyi arrived to take her home, she pushed him away, declaring, "Let go of me! Don't call me that. We're not that close! I'm not interested in anything about you. I don't want anything to do with you. I will never forgive you for this."
Fu Zeyi questioned how she still remembered a particular tune if she claimed not to know him; she simply replied she had learned it. He then confessed, "Jing Zhixia, listen up. I like you," to which she responded, "Fu Zeyi, what exactly do you want me to do?" A bartender informed them the bar was closing, but Jing Zhixia insisted she could go home by herself.
As Fu Zeyi carried her out, Jing Zhixia's drunken thoughts revealed her deep confusion, wondering why every man she saw looked like the "detestable" Fu Zeyi. Back at her place, she pulled Fu Zeyi into a kiss, but her words "Lin, is that you?" left him heartbroken, confirming her continued feelings for Lin. Feeling defeated, Fu Zeyi left, accepting that Lin held a place in Jing Zhixia’s heart that he did not.
He then internally addressed Lin, admitting his defeat and urging Lin to emerge. The next morning, Lin appeared at Jing Zhixia’s door, asking if she was having another hangover. Jing Zhixia, still assuming it was Fu Zeyi, initially accused him of deception.
To prove his identity, Lin recited obscure facts about renowned pianists Rudolf Serkin and Martha Argerich, including the details about her "Supreme Priestess of the Piano" title and the "Prometheus" album with Berliner Philharmoniker, which finally convinced Jing Zhixia. Overjoyed, she embraced him, believing Fu Zeyi had eliminated Lin. Lin reassured her that Fu Zeyi was not that ruthless, and they still shared the same body.
He then pointed out their differences, explaining that he loved to cook while Fu Zeyi detested the smell of cooking and never entered the kitchen, and that he adored cats while Fu Zeyi couldn’t tolerate cat fur. Their conversation was interrupted by a phone call from Jing Zhixia’s mother, Jingjing, who declared she was canceling her wedding. Jing Zhixia, accompanied by Lin, rushed to the venue. Jingjing was distressed, claiming she had lost her wedding ring.
Lin offered to help, and Jing Zhixia introduced him as "a good friend of mine." Lin suggested checking surveillance, but Jingjing insisted that a timid hotel cat had taken the ring. Jing Zhixia and Lin went searching, with Lin explaining that cats often hide in places like fire extinguisher cabinets or under vehicles, and their reflective eyes make them easier to find at night.
As they searched, Lin shared that he loved cats but couldn't keep one because Fu Zeyi was afraid of them. They eventually found the cat's nest and, indeed, the ring. Jing Zhixia, noticing the cat's nest usually contained soft items, deduced that the cat wouldn't have naturally taken a hard ring. Jingjing then confessed that she had hidden the ring herself because she had decided not to marry Ye Ming.
She explained that she had received a drunken phone call from Jing Zhixia the previous night, where Jing Zhixia pleaded, "Don't leave me! Don't leave me alone!" Jingjing had misinterpreted this as her daughter not wanting her to remarry, fearing Jing Zhixia would be lonely. Jing Zhixia quickly clarified the misunderstanding, urging her mother to pursue her own happiness and wishing her a joyful marriage. Convinced by her daughter's words, Jingjing finally agreed to marry Ye Ming.
She thanked Lin for his help. On the day of the wedding, the scheduled musician canceled. Distraught, Jingjing felt her perfect wedding was destined to be flawed. Lin, however, stepped forward and offered to play the piano as a wedding gift. He performed beautifully, and as he played, many guests observed Jing Zhixia smiling, realizing she was captivated by the pianist, not just the music. Some guests openly remarked that Lin was clearly the "ex-boyfriend you couldn't forget."
During the bouquet-tossing ceremony, Jingjing playfully tossed the bouquet directly to Jing Zhixia, leading to cheers of "Be together!" from the crowd. Lin then invited Jing Zhixia to dance, mentioning that he had wanted to ask her to dance a year ago during their night at the beach.
However, a comical dispute erupted among various relatives, including a man named Ye Yuxi, each insisting on having the first dance with Jing Zhixia based on their family seniority, before Lin finally led her away. Away from the crowd, Lin confessed his love for Jing Zhixia. But Jing Zhixia declared, "Let's end it here."
She explained that while she could now distinguish between him and Fu Zeyi, she was confused about her own heart and feared calling out the wrong name. She admitted that she had convinced herself Fu Zeyi was a villain who had selfishly destroyed their relationship and tried to eliminate Lin, and that she felt she had to hate him. However, Lin's unexpected return, confirming he was alive, made her realize that "he's not as bad as I thought."
She also expressed disappointment that Lin had numerous opportunities to tell her the truth but chose to keep it a secret. Despite Lin's protest that he didn't mean to hide it, Jing Zhixia stated she could no longer trust either of them. Being a simple person who couldn't decipher their intentions, she proposed that no matter who emerged, they should remain "good friends." With that, she left.
Lin was left alone, lamenting that Jing Zhixia was abandoning him too, and that he didn't know what to do. Fu Zeyi, from within, reassured him, "It's fine. You still have me with you. No matter what happens in the future, I will always stay by your side. We will face them together." Lin responded, "I don't wish to give up yet." Later, Jing Zhixia found her mother, Jingjing, drinking a "tonic" at home.
Jingjing, noticing her daughter's underlying sadness, asked about her relationship with Fu Zeyi. Jing Zhixia, speaking freely, explained the complex situation: how she met Fu Zeyi, how Lin, a distinct personality within Fu Zeyi, had professed his love, and how Fu Zeyi's often contradictory behavior made her wonder if he was ill. Jingjing was incensed that her "baby daughter" was being "taken for a fool" and advised her to stay away from Fu Zeyi.
Mistaking a business transaction for a personal debt, Jingjing offered to transfer money to Jing Zhixia to "pay off" Fu Zeyi, even adding an extra zero at Jing Zhixia's suggestion. The next morning, Ye Ming woke up with a hangover, having little memory of the previous night, only that he and Jing Zhixia had drunk all night, mumbling about "zero and one."
He was shocked to find a large sum missing from his account, which Jingjing confirmed she had transferred to Jing Zhixia in USD. They then left for their honeymoon. Ye Yuxi, who was also leaving, teased Jing Zhixia about having a crush on him, but then seriously told her he knew she liked Fu Zeyi. He suggested she was being foolish for not letting go of something "destined to end badly," urging her to reflect on it.
Meanwhile, Fu Zeyi's brother, Fu Guoqiang, also referred to as Mr. Fu Senior, met with Fu Zeyi. Fu Guoqiang informed him that Mr. He was furious about Fu Zeyi's previous antics and demanded a personal apology. Fu Zeyi adamantly refused, stating that the one who caused the trouble should resolve it, and he wouldn't get involved. Fu Guoqiang acknowledged his brother's stubbornness.
