However, the applicant only managed to cook a meal and failed to obtain any valuable intelligence. Realizing the attempt was futile, Fu Shengrong immediately arranged for a boat to help the person escape overnight, ensuring Fu Zeyi would never see him again.
Meanwhile, Jian Bufan, assuming that his sister Jing Zhixia's relationship with Fu Zeyi had progressed after they spent two days together, was surprised when Jing Zhixia revealed that Fu Zeyi had explicitly told her not to answer his calls that day. Just then, Lin called, and Jing Zhixia quickly hung up, upholding her promise to Fu Zeyi. Unexpectedly, Fu Zeyi appeared in person, clarifying that his instruction was for them not to meet "tomorrow", and today's meeting was perfectly permissible.
Later, Ai Xin presented Fu Zeyi with a packed schedule full of important client meetings for that day. Fu Zeyi was baffled, having no recollection of making such arrangements. Realizing that Lin must have set the packed schedule the previous day when he was in control, Fu Zeyi saw it as a deliberate attempt to interfere and prevent him from spending time with Jing Zhixia.

With the last flight already departed, Lin was stranded and unable to return that day. The psychologist, however, struggled to understand her situation, mistakenly concluding that Jing Zhixia was simply dating two boyfriends simultaneously and advised her to speak with a friend about her "guilty conscience," which Jing Zhixia found incredibly unprofessional. Later, Ai Xin urgently informed Lin that Mr. Sheng had arrived for their meeting. Lin was caught off guard, completely unprepared, as Fu Zeyi had not shared any crucial details about the meeting.
His fumbling responses left Mr. Sheng with the impression that Fu Zeyi was not ready for a partnership. Just as the situation grew tense, Jing Zhixia confidently entered the meeting room, assuring Mr. Sheng of their preparedness. She presented a meticulously prepared document—the Fanmu Home Brand Transfer Contract—explaining that Fu Zeyi intended to offer his high-end brand, Fanmu Home, to Yiju Home as a strategic gift.
Jing Zhixia articulated how this collaboration would significantly boost Yiju Home's market position, leading to the Fu Group developing new central business districts around Yiju Home's expanded presence. Although Mr. Sheng raised concerns about the development rights and Fu Zeyi's unconventional business style, Jing Zhixia passionately advocated for Fu Zeyi, portraying him as a capable, thoughtful, and compassionate leader, despite his often intimidating exterior.
Citing Fu Zeyi's successful acquisition and revitalization of Aizhe Hotel, she convinced Mr. Sheng of the mutual benefits of their partnership, leading to the successful signing of the contract. During the celebratory banquet for the new partnership, a staff member named Yang found Jing Zhixia's bracelet and gave it to Ai Xin, who then presented it to the body, currently under Lin's control. Lin, however, did not recognize the bracelet.
At that moment, Fu Zeyi's personality forcefully re-emerged, experiencing a strong premonition that Jing Zhixia was in danger. He immediately rushed to find her and discovered her unconscious in the restroom, having sustained a head injury. Fu Zeyi quickly took her to the hospital. The doctor informed them that Jing Zhixia had fainted due to low blood sugar and suffered a moderate concussion from the fall, but was otherwise fine.
The doctor stressed the importance of companionship during such episodes, as being alone could lead to accidents. Although Fu Zeyi expressed concern about her past heart palpitations, the doctor confirmed they were also symptoms of hypoglycemia and that her heart was healthy. Jing Zhixia only needed a few days of rest in the hospital. Attributing Jing Zhixia's injury to Lin's negligence in taking care of her, Fu Zeyi became consumed with a fierce protectiveness.
He called Mo Ziqi, expressing his decision to eliminate Lin entirely. Despite acknowledging the inherent risks of such a procedure, Fu Zeyi declared that he would rather harm himself than allow Jing Zhixia to suffer further. Later, finding Ai Xin drinking alone at home and disheartened, Jian Bufan went to comfort her. He tried to alleviate her insomnia by clumsily playing basketball in her living room, which garnered a complaint from a neighbor. After a brief and awkward exchange, Jian Bufan then suggested they watch a basketball game together. Ai Xin found his presence comforting, and they unintentionally fell asleep together on the sofa. Jian Bufan felt overwhelmed by this sudden, unexpected happiness.
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Fu Zeyi continued his discussion with Mo Ziqi about his condition. Mo Ziqi confirmed that Fu Zeyi's main personality indeed emerged immediately whenever Jing Zhixia was in trouble, a phenomenon that puzzled him scientifically. Mo Ziqi expressed that Fu Zeyi's case was beyond his medical knowledge and recommended a more extensive hospital examination. Fu Zeyi, however, was impatient, demanding an immediate cure for his dissociative identity disorder.
He reiterated that his ability to protect Jing Zhixia, as demonstrated by her recent fainting spell, proved he alone should be by her side. Mo Ziqi, concerned by Fu Zeyi's intensity, warned him about the significant risks involved in the treatment and advised him to carefully consider his decision before proceeding.
