Following his public accusation of Zeng Jianfei, Lin Xiaoran dragged Nan Xiangwan to Director Zhang's office, demanding she clarify the situation. Inside, they found Zeng Jianfei attempting to defend himself. Instead of helping, Nan Xiangwan shifted the focus to the physics competition, questioning why her class had not been informed.
Pushing the issue of Zeng Jianfei, she asserted that bringing an electronic dictionary into the exam room was a violation of school rules, regardless of whether it constituted cheating, and advocated for impartial handling to uphold discipline. Frustrated, Lin Xiaoran accused her of intentionally provoking the director. An angered Director Zhang ordered both Nan Xiangwan and Lin Xiaoran to clean the office as punishment.
