Divine Destiny Episode 26 Recap
> Divine Destiny Recap
Xuanzhen was gravely injured by Ruoxichen, who inflicted persistent flames upon him. Though Master Yuxuan managed to clear most of the flames from his body, the ones on his face continuously reignited, causing him immense pain. Ji Ruochen and Zhang Yinyin rushed to the scene after defeating their attackers, quickly taking Xuanzhen back to Xixuan Mountains for urgent treatment. Meanwhile, Yinfeng, still immersed in sadness over Gu Qing's lack of support, was with an accomplice.
His accomplice, the Banished Immortal, inquired if Feng (the Banished God) would discover they were responsible for killing the villagers, assuring Yinfeng he would not, claiming their actions were a form of help. They further conspired, anticipating a clash between Ji Ruochen and Ruoxichen's forces, believing Ji Ruochen would be caught in a devastating conflict.
At Xixuan Mountains, Master Yuxuan confirmed that while her Xuan Jade technique had removed most of the flames, the ones on Xuanzhen’s face were proving impossible to extinguish completely, requiring further remedies. Concerned disciples suggested finding a way to suppress the flames. Bingxian then suggested taking Xuanzhen to the Ice Cave, which was made of thousand-year-old cold jade, hoping it would help alleviate his suffering.
However, Xuanzhen, upon seeing his disfigured reflection, became inconsolable, lamenting his ruined appearance and future, fearing he would never marry or have children. Ji Ruochen comforted him, embracing him and promising to take him to the Ice Cave to aid his recovery, a sentiment echoed by Zhang Yinyin and Qiushui. Bingxian also reassured him, vowing to dedicate her life to finding a cure.
Senior Ziyun approached Master Ziyang, expressing deep concern about Ji Ruochen continuing his mission to destroy spiritual caves. He cited the recent loss of Yunfeng and Xuanzhen’s severe injuries, pointing out the mounting anger from other sects across the land. Other masters echoed his sentiments, suggesting they cease after having already destroyed two spiritual caves to avoid becoming enemies of the world.
However, Master Ziyang firmly stated that they must see the mission through to the end, as it was the Hierarch's will. Ji Ruochen, who had overheard the discussion, humbly presented himself before his masters, reassuring them that he was capable of handling the remaining challenges. He revealed that he had acquired the divine weapon Asura Spear and tamed the Chaotic Thunder Dragon, making him confident against any adversaries.
Master Ziyang, pleased with Ji Ruochen's determination, granted him two days of rest before he was to embark on his next journey, entrusting him with Xixuan's long-standing legacy. Xuanzhen continued to refuse any treatment, isolating himself in his despair. Bingxian tirelessly tried to persuade him to go to the Ice Cave, enduring his rejections and even offering to leave if her presence bothered him.
Zhang Yinyin then arrived, holding Master Ziyang's token, and declared it was the Hierarch’s explicit command for Xuanzhen to move to the Ice Cave for healing. Though still reluctant and skeptical that the Hierarch would involve himself in such a small matter, Xuanzhen finally relented when Zhang Yinyin threatened to punish herself by going to the harsh Tianxin Cave until he complied. Bingxian expressed her gratitude to Zhang Yinyin for her help.
Ji Ruochen prepared to proceed alone to destroy the final spiritual cave, explaining that significant challenges awaited Xixuan. He revealed that Master Ziyang had received news of Sun Guo gathering various sects to attack Xixuan, and the Demon Emperor of Netherworld was also furious over the destruction of the Sand Sea spiritual cave.
Ji Ruochen stressed that the other disciples must remain to protect Xixuan during the impending fierce battle, asserting his confidence in destroying the last spiritual cave by himself. Qiushui, concerned about Zhang Yinyin’s recurring memory loss, cautioned Ji Ruochen that if she developed feelings for him again and then forgot him, it would be detrimental to both of them. Ji Ruochen acknowledged this, stating he would need to find another solution.
However, Zhang Yinyin insisted on accompanying Ji Ruochen, reminding him that she knew the location of the last spiritual cave. She firmly declared that he could not leave her behind, even offering him half of her merits from the mission. Ling received orders from his Master to return to the Endless Sea. He instructed Qing Yi to stay and protect herself, then bade farewell to Zhang Yinyin.
Zhang Yinyin tried to convince Ling to stay and help them fight the Imperial Advisor, even suggesting he disregard his Master’s commands. Ling, however, explained his unwavering loyalty to his Master and the Endless Sea, emphasizing that he could not betray his lifelong pursuit. Despite his evident concern for Zhang Yinyin, Ling departed, leaving her frustrated by his adherence to orders.
Meanwhile, two artificers expressed their gratitude to Master Ziyang for the Kunlun Golden Sand, promising to forge powerful Dragon and Tiger Universal Cannons for Xixuan. Master Ziyang spoke of Ji Ruochen’s destiny, emphasizing that bearing great responsibilities has always meant facing immense challenges. Bingxian escorted Xuanzhen to the Ice Cave. He remained despondent, and the idle chatter of other disciples about his disfigurement only deepened his gloom, making Bingxian worry about his resilience.
Elsewhere, Zhang Yinyin visited the Nine-Tailed Heavenly Fox. Her memory loss seemed to grant her a carefree demeanor as she recounted many stories, particularly about Ji Ruochen, whom she found quite interesting. The Nine-Tailed Heavenly Fox, observing Zhang Yinyin, asked for the name of the junior disciple she spoke of, which Zhang Yinyin struggled to recall, expressing her frustration at always forgetting it.
Ji Ruochen prepared for the perilous journey to the Qingyuan Holy Land to destroy the final spiritual cave. He confided in Qing Yi, revealing his plan to make Zhang Yinyin forget him and the spiritual cave mission again, asking Qing Yi to send her back to Xixuan Mountains. He explained that he couldn't bear to see her suffer the pain of memory recovery anymore. Qing Yi became visibly upset by this request, feeling conflicted about acting as "the bad guy."
Zhang Yinyin noticed Qing Yi’s distress and questioned Ji Ruochen about his harshness. Qing Yi, prompted by Ji Ruochen's hidden agenda, asked Zhang Yinyin if she liked Ji Ruochen. Zhang Yinyin, feigning anger, denied liking him but then immediately forbade Qing Yi from liking him. Qing Yi, in turn, pointed out Zhang Yinyin’s inconsistency, questioning why she would object if she herself claimed not to like Ji Ruochen.
Zhang Yinyin admitted her complicated feelings but insisted she wanted to see him every day. Zhang Yinyin confronted Ji Ruochen about his persistent attempts to leave her behind. Ji Ruochen, with a look of concern, questioned why she consistently forgot his name while remembering others, revealing that previous instances of her severe headaches were caused by remembering him.
He prompted her to recall specific moments, showing her a bracelet and asking her to remember where she had seen it before, specifically at a wedding. Despite her initial strong resistance and mounting pain, Ji Ruochen pressed her, urging her to remember. Overwhelmed by the flood of memories, Zhang Yinyin endured a painful flashback and finally recovered her lost memories.
