Meanwhile, Xiao Di tried to reach Cai Shumeng by phone, but her device was off. Sensing something was amiss, he contacted the Wenhua Community property management about a package for Cai Shumeng.
The property manager informed him that Cai Shumeng had sounded hoarse and uncomfortable when they last spoke, indicating she might have had an argument. Xiao Di then used a ruse, reporting Cai Shumeng's car, license plate 2233, was parked improperly. Jiang Yu, believing he needed to move the car, left the residence. Seizing the opportunity, Xiao Di used a spare key to enter Cai Shumeng's home. Cai Shumeng quickly told him that Tang Mao had discovered the hard drive.
She handed the hard drive to Xiao Di, instructing him to deliver it to Wen Suxi, explain the situation, and ask her to call the police. Cai Shumeng expressed her desire for "the one he loves most to destroy him personally," believing that in this "gamble, only one person will win." As they were about to flee, Cai Shumeng remembered her recording pen and dashed back inside to retrieve it, telling Xiao Di to get the car.
Jiang Yu then spotted Xiao Di, who promptly fled. Moments later, Tang Mao returned and found Cai Shumeng. Tang Mao confronted Cai Shumeng, seeing her with the recording pen.
