Lin Haoshu quietly closed the door after witnessing Chi Yu lying on Wen Suxi's bed. As Chi Yu pressed his forehead against Wen Suxi's, he experienced another premonition of her impending danger. He pondered why the vision remained unchanged despite his earlier action of removing the ornament from Duo La's bag, questioning if Duo La was actually unrelated to the looming crisis and wondering who would then be the cause.
As Wen Suxi was still ill, she asked Lin Haoshu to meet with the director about the sample movie. Lin Haoshu vehemently refused, expressing his fear of "messing it up" and trying to use Wen Suxi's need for care as an excuse. When Chi Yu offered to care for Wen Suxi in his stead, Wen Suxi dismissed Lin Haoshu, telling him to "Put on your shoes and go."
Meanwhile, Duo La's assistant, Natie, urged her to apologize to Ping for being gone all night. Upon Duo La's appearance, Ping angrily chastised Natie for not controlling her, then turned her ire on Duo La, questioning her interest in Wen Suxi's sample movie. Ping argued that Wen Suxi had little to offer and that Duo La was past her prime, revealing the company was planning her career transformation with international projects and advising her to "adjust her face."
Duo La defiantly retorted that their relationship was a partnership, not one of subservience, and that Ping, as her agent, was to provide service for which she was compensated. She warned Ping that she had the right to discontinue her contract if her working style wasn't accepted and refused any cosmetic alterations, telling Ping to "bear with it" if she didn't like her appearance. Back at home, Wen Suxi lay on the sofa, trying to read a script.
Chi Yu covered her with a blanket, which she found too warm. He then gently placed his cool hand on her face to help her cool down. A flutter of emotion made Wen Suxi ask about his activities with Duo La the previous day, but Chi Yu was evasive, only urging her to "always stay prudent."
He then tried to subtly warn her about danger by recounting a fortune-teller's prediction of a "water accident this year" for a friend born in the Year of the Dragon. Wen Suxi interrupted, sharing her own past experience of being scammed by a similar "golden chicken" talisman and advising him against believing in such superstitions.
Accusing him of deliberately changing the subject, she then jokingly asked if he could stop seeing Duo La, wondering if he was "afraid I'll spill the beans?" Frustrated, Wen Suxi decided to return to her room. Chi Yu's intimate gesture earlier that morning left Wen Suxi questioning his sexual orientation. Determined to find out if he was a "straight guy," she searched online for methods.
She then paraded in front of him in a beautiful dress, and even initiated physical contact. Chi Yu remained outwardly composed during her tests, but later, alone in his room, he displayed signs of agitation, revealing he was indeed smitten. When Wen Suxi attempted her final test to determine his orientation by trying to touch his butt, Chi Yu caught her. She quickly made an excuse that she wanted chocolate.
Chi Yu then gave her complex directions to a far-off handmade chocolate shop, implicitly sending her away. Wen Suxi confessed her true intentions, explicitly asking if he liked Duo La because he had given her a hairpin. Chi Yu denied romantic interest in Duo La, stating he liked someone else—a person she both knew and didn't know—and asked if she was jealous. After she denied jealousy, she questioned him about his relationship with Lin Haoshu, implying a romantic involvement.
Chi Yu gave a cryptic response, saying his orientation "depends on who I like." As he leaned in to ask about her relationship with Tang Mao, a phone call from Tang Mao interrupted them. Tang Mao checked on her health and questioned her choice of Chi Yu for the sample movie, citing his inexperience, but Wen Suxi defended Chi Yu, stating her responsibility for him and her belief in his suitability for the role.
Tang Mao concluded the call by saying he would be back that day. Despite Wen Suxi sending Lin Haoshu to meet the director earlier, Lin Haoshu, accompanied by Youyou, later botched the discussion due to his nervousness. As Youyou was about to return home to apologize to Wen Suxi, she received a call from Natie, who informed her that Duo La had decided to sign the contract for the sample movie.
Youyou immediately relayed this exciting news to Wen Suxi, who, thrilled, decided to personally go to the set in the western mountains to finalize the agreement with Duo La. Later, Duo La called Chi Yu from the set, declaring her intent to star in Wen Suxi's sample movie, asserting their inevitable meeting and canceling any previous agreements.
Chi Yu immediately forbade her participation, but when he couldn't provide a clear reason, Duo La angrily hung up, puzzled by his apparent dislike for her. Elsewhere, Tang Mao was preparing for an urgent return home. He grew deeply concerned when his investigation revealed that Qian Ning's phone, when last turned off, was located near Wen Suxi's residential area.
Lin Haoshu went to the art studio to resign, expressing gratitude to his boss but explaining his need to fully commit to helping Wen Suxi. There, he encountered Wang Xiaomi, who had come looking for him. Lin Haoshu informed her that he was no longer her teacher and had no further obligations to her, intending to end their association.
Wang Xiaomi was deeply hurt, revealing she had joined the training class for him, and pleaded with him to take responsibility for her. Later, Chi Yu was ambushed by thugs on the street. Despite sustaining injuries, he fought them off. Upon returning home, exhausted, he saw a news report featuring Duo La wearing a familiar bag ornament, identical to the one in his visions. He immediately realized Wen Suxi was in imminent danger but, overwhelmed, collapsed into unconsciousness.
Soon after, Lin Haoshu woke Chi Yu. Chi Yu felt terrible, which Lin Haoshu attributed to the brown sugar water he had given him for hypoglycemia, which Chi Yu indicated he couldn't consume. Lin Haoshu, noticing Chi Yu was covered in blood, pressed him for details and asked about Wen Suxi. Chi Yu urgently confirmed that Wen Suxi had gone to meet Duo La at a filming site in the western mountains.
At the same time, Wen Suxi met Duo La at the set. Duo La expressed surprise that Wen Suxi had come in person for such an important contract, mentioning Chi Yu had tried to prevent her from seeing Wen Suxi. As filming concluded, Wen Suxi offered to carry Duo La's bag, and they decided to leave the set together.
