Yun Hongshen looked at the dossier in his hand, becoming more certain that Ling Han was not Kunwu, and that Kunwu was someone else. As more and more information from the dossier appeared before Yun Hongshen's eyes, all the doubts and suspicions pointed to Ke Jingping; the possibility of him being Kunwu was the greatest. After reading the dossier, Yun Hongshen found a clue: Shengxing Hotel, the hotel where Brother Eight had stayed before.

Yun Hongshen always felt there was a pair of eyes watching him from behind; as soon as he arrived at the Military Bureau entrance, he saw Wen Yeming. Yun Hongshen told Wen Yeming not to wait for him, that he was fine, and was just feeling a bit emotional earlier. Wen Yeming told Yun Hongshen that Ke Jingping had done his best regarding Ling Han's matter, and that he had his difficulties.

Wen Yeming told Yun Hongshen not to blame Ke Jingping; she told Yun Hongshen to speak up if he felt unhappy and not keep it bottled up alone. Wen Yeming said that although speaking up might not solve the problem, venting negative emotions would always make one feel a bit more comfortable.

Yun Hongshen looked at Wen Yeming's face and thought to himself how painful it would be if she knew the truth of the matter; Yun Hongshen took Wen Yeming's hand and told her that everything would pass. Yun Hongshen walked Wen Yeming to the downstairs of her home and told her to go back quickly.

Wen Yeming thought of Ke Jingping asking her if she had never suspected that Yun Hongshen was a Communist; Wen Yeming asked Yun Hongshen what he would do if she ultimately chose to follow Ke Jingping. Yun Hongshen asked her what Ke Jingping had said to her; Wen Yeming said nothing, only that he was very disappointed. Yun Hongshen asked her if she couldn't bear Ke Jingping's disappointment; Wen Yeming asked him to walk with her for a bit.

Wen Yeming told Yun Hongshen that Ke Jingping had been trying to play the role of an older brother all these years, and he cared for her meticulously. Wen Yeming said, why must one choose a direction? Isn't it enough if the final outcome is correct?

Yun Hongshen told her that if things are wrong from the start, there is no way to reach the end, nor is there a way to reach the same destination by different routes, but he would always walk on with Wen Yeming. Wen Yeming asked Yun Hongshen how he knew the path he was taking was correct; Yun Hongshen counter-asked her if she didn't already have the answer in her heart.

Yun Hongshen told Wen Yeming to think carefully; he hoped Wen Yeming could choose her own path this time and truly live for herself once. Yun Hongshen returned home and told Secretary Wu and Yun Hongqi that Ling Han was dead; Yun Hongqi eagerly wanted to know Mi Lan's outcome. Yun Hongshen told him that Mi Lan and Zong Fang had escaped again; Yun Hongqi was so angry that he almost crushed the teacup in his hand.

Secretary Wu told him to calm down; Yun Hongqi said he was going out. Yun Hongshen told Secretary Wu that Ling Han had confirmed his identity with him before he died, and that it was very likely he had left clues for him at Shengxing Hotel. Furthermore, he suspected that Ke Jingping was Kunwu, and Ling Han likely knew and was investigating him, which is why Ke Jingping fabricated Ling Han's false identity to implicate him.

Yun Hongshen said that Ke Jingping should already know that he had become suspicious of him, so he would soon take action. Yun Hongshen said he already knew what the key was, it was the book Journey to the Flowers in the Mirror. Secretary Wu said that now both the codebook and the key were in Ke Jingping's hands; if he destroyed these, then none of them would know the content of the intelligence.

Mi Lan came to secretly meet Kunwu again; Kunwu said that Yun Hongshen might already suspect his identity, as Yun Hongshen was looking at his files in the archives when he came out just now. From Kunwu's tone and content, it can be seen that Ke Jingping is Kunwu; Mi Lan said she could sacrifice herself to ensure the completion of this mission.

Yun Hongshen and Secretary Wu continued to analyze that this intelligence might be a false one deliberately released by Brother Eight, because Ke Jingping discovered that this intelligence was very important but also revealed a little bit of its content from time to time; Yun Hongshen felt that the Japanese wanted to use a false intelligence to deceive them, and then launch a real attack when they were unprepared; he felt that this person Kunwu was truly terrifying. As expected, Mi Lan deliberately appeared and was discovered by the Military Bureau personnel; Ke Jingping sent most people away, leaving only himself at the Military Bureau; Yun Hongshen saw through his plot.
