Picking up during their car race, Li Jinyu confessed everything to Ye Meng. He also clarified why he recanted his testimony in her mother's suicide case: though he saw Wang Xingsheng's car, the heavy rain made him doubt himself, and Li Lingbai had provided Wang Xingsheng with an alibi.
Li Jinyu further revealed that he was not his stepfather Li Mu's biological son, but Li Lingbai's, which explained her long-standing animosity towards him. Haunted by the memory of the car crash where Li Mu died saving him, Li Jinyu tearfully explained that his secretive and overprotective behavior stemmed from a deep-seated fear of losing Ye Meng, the first person he had truly loved since his father's death. His confession mended their rift.
Meanwhile, Gou Kai meticulously planned a romantic confession to Ye Meng during a company team-building event, instructing Tai Mingxiao to decorate a room with flowers and balloons.
