Su Nianqin returned to the hotel to find his MP3. While he waited, the hotel manager didn’t understand why the MP3 was so important. His secretary said if they didn’t find it today, both of them might be in trouble. In the end, a hotel cleaner found it. Wei Hao now worked at Toro. After Su Nianqin acquired the company, he visited the employee area, where Wei Hao saw this once-familiar man who was now a big boss.
While riding in the car, Su Nianqin saw Wuyan by the roadside, listening to music and waiting for a taxi. He told the driver to follow her until she went into a building and turned on the lights. Wuyan took Xiaojie to eat at KFC and happened to run into her previous blind date, Wu Yu. Wu Yu offered to drive them, and the three had KFC together.
During the meal, Wu Yu mentioned the watch on Wuyan’s wrist was expensive, unavailable domestically, and fully handcrafted. Wuyan said she had bought it for a few hundred yuan on Taobao—a knockoff. Outside the company building, Wei Hao greeted Su Nianqin and told him that Wuyan hadn’t had an easy time these past few years. Of course, Su Nianqin knew—he had been keeping track of her all along.
Su Nianqin also went to KFC and reminisced about the first time they had eaten there, which felt just like yesterday, making him very happy. Reflecting on herself, Wuyan realized her past immature and willful behavior must have brought great trouble to Su Nianqin when he was having eye problems. No matter how much she said, she still couldn’t let go of her feelings for him. Cheng Yin, who believed Su Nianqin looked proud but was deeply insecure, also encouraged her to talk to him. Wuyan went to the hotel to find Su Nianqin but fell asleep on the couch while waiting.
When Su Nianqin returned from the meeting and saw the girl he had longed for sleeping right there, his emotions were mixed. He carried her to the bed, crouched beside her to examine her features, then kissed her. But Wuyan, sleeping deeply, knew nothing. When she woke up, Su Nianqin had already left for a company dinner. She took the watch on the sink with her and left behind his old watch.
Su Nianqin had planned to bring her dinner but found her gone—and the watch he had worn for three years gone too. Instead, the old watch he had given her long ago had been returned. Realizing she came only to swap watches, he was furious. Su Nianqin called Wuyan, and they went to a noisy small restaurant. Wuyan said that although it was hard to go back to being friends after breaking up, she didn’t want things to become tense. She apologized for the hurtful things she said during their breakup. Su Nianqin accepted the apology immediately.
