Han Sen had arranged dinner with Qiao Man, but only Qiao Fang arrived. Han Sen expressed his disappointment, admitting he had no appetite to eat and revealing his dislike for Lin Heping, whom Qiao Man had been talking about recently. Qiao Fang urged him to stay, reminding him of their long acquaintance and his reliability, and pressed him to "take care of her for life."

Han Sen confessed his hope for this but lamented Qiao Man's apparent infatuation with Lin Heping, feeling that "the harder I try, the harder she tries to get away," leading him to lose hope. Qiao Fang advised him that women dislike indecisive men and encouraged him to "try harder," despite Han Sen recalling his elaborate but failed proposal in Barcelona.

Qiao Fang then decided she would instruct Qiao Man to come to the restaurant, telling Han Sen to be straightforward, even though he felt unprepared. Meanwhile, Lin Heping had cooked a delicious pizza for Qiao Man, who was surprised and delighted as he fed her a piece. Her good mood was interrupted by a call from Qiao Fang.

Qiao Man confided in Lin Heping that she was frustrated, as Qiao Fang was now insisting she meet Han Sen, a meeting Qiao Man had hoped to avoid. Lin Heping suggested she view it as an opportunity to comfort her sister, noting that He Jianfeng had recently passed away and Qiao Fang must be grieving. Qiao Man countered that Qiao Fang wouldn't find peace until the unresolved matter concerning He Jianfeng was settled.

Lin Heping reassured her, promising that the company's board and he would investigate the truth. Qiao Man then decided to eat quickly and leave to meet Han Sen, with Lin Heping cautioning her to be careful. Later, Ah Li was drinking alone at the Riverbank Pub when Luo Chen approached, sarcastically asking why she was by herself again. Ah Li retorted that it was none of his concern and accused him of deliberately picking a fight.

She threatened to splash her drink on him. Luo Chen, initially feigning indifference, offered to leave, but Ah Li stopped him, pulling him back to directly confront him about defaming Li Ping Pavilion Studio. Luo Chen denied any involvement, but Ah Li revealed that Lin Heping had reminded her that only Luo Chen, given his grudge and access to media influence, could be behind such an incident.

Luo Chen was angered by Lin Heping's suspicion and mocked Ah Li for her unrequited devotion, highlighting how Lin Heping left her "to drink and be sad alone." He then sarcastically referred to her and Lin Heping's relationship as "hilarious." Enraged, Ah Li splashed her drink on his face. Xiao Xi intervened, separating them, but Luo Chen continued to provoke, claiming Lin Heping could never forget Nan Sheng, who was "ten thousand times more gentle" than Ah Li.

Ah Li lunged at him again, but Xiao Xi pulled her back, urging her not to use force. Luo Chen then challenged Ah Li, asking her to let everyone see "the boss of Li Ping Pavilion Studio. . . is just a crazy woman." Xiao Xi, having had enough, ordered Luo Chen to leave. After he departed, Xiao Xi helped calm Ah Li down and called Lin Heping, informing him of the fight. Lin Heping stated he would come immediately.

Qiao Man arrived at the restaurant, only to find Qiao Fang had already left, intending for Qiao Man and Han Sen to talk alone. Qiao Man attempted to leave, citing her busy schedule, but Han Sen stopped her, saying he had something important to say. He recounted seeking advice on their relationship, even mentioning Zhu Fan's crude suggestion to take her to a hotel, which he, as a gentleman, would never do.

He then revealed Qiao Fang's suggestion to be straightforward. Following this, Han Sen directly proposed, "I love you. I want to marry you." Qiao Man, with regret, told him, "I can't say yes." Han Sen reminded her of her past promise to marry only him if she married at all. Qiao Man then revealed her true feelings, "I'm already. . . together with Lin Heping."

Han Sen was incredulous, calling it "not funny at all," but Qiao Man insisted she wasn't joking. He accused her of breaking her word and called her a "liar," declaring he was "never going to forgive you." A distraught Han Sen was then accidentally bumped by a waiter, causing him to fall. He picked up a broken bottle, furiously declaring his intent to kill Lin Heping.

Qiao Man, crying, rushed in front of him, pleading with Han Sen to kill her instead. Han Sen, with tears in his eyes, accused her of being cruel, lamenting how he had gathered courage to propose again only for her to confess her love for another man. He stated he couldn't bring himself to bless their union and would "not allow you to be together." He then dropped the bottle and walked away.

Qiao Man softly called after him, "Han Sen. Just hate me. Don't forgive me. Just hate me." Ah Li, now heavily intoxicated, was being given water by Xiao Xi at the bar when Lin Heping arrived. He asked her why she had fought with Luo Chen. Ah Li, slurring, explained that Luo Chen had mocked her for her unrequited love for Lin Heping. She insisted she was sober and demanded Lin Heping publicly declare his love for her.

Lin Heping gently but firmly told her, "Ah Li, stop it. We won't be together. We're just partners." Enraged by his rejection, Ah Li began tearing down photos of Nan Sheng from the bar wall. Lin Heping tried to stop her, but she lashed out, asking why Nan Sheng was still in his heart when she was dead, and why he wouldn't accept her when Qiao Man was now in his life.

Lin Heping tried to take her home, but Ah Li vehemently refused, accusing him of feigning concern and pushing him away. Seeing her distress, Xiao Xi stepped in, suggesting Lin Heping leave and she would take care of Ah Li. Lin Heping agreed and then called Yang Lan, asking her to come to the pub as Ah Li was drunk. The next morning, Ah Li woke up in the office, disoriented.

Yang Lan explained that Lin Heping had called her to pick Ah Li up from the pub and they had brought her to the office before Lin Heping left. Ah Li remarked bitterly that Lin Heping was "even not willing to go to my house now." Yang Lan then informed her that Mr. Yan had brought people to audit the accounts that morning, and the results were out, though they had left without informing Ah Li.

Ah Li expressed surprise at not being notified, to which Yang Lan suggested they probably didn't want to disturb her. Ah Li asked for clean clothes, complaining about her "alcohol stench." Lin Heping, having returned to the company, was immediately summoned to a meeting with Mr. Yan, who had arrived with auditors. Mr. Yan chastised Lin Heping for the company's disarray, the ongoing online defamation, and the stalled Xue Lai endorsement.

Lin Heping explained that the online attacks were orchestrated and that they were still working on the endorsement, requesting more time. Mr. Yan expressed deep concern over his and Ah Li's management. Team Leader Ma then presented his findings, confirming that He Jianfeng was responsible for the fake accounts and that the missing RMB10 million was linked to him.

Lin Heping stated they should handle the matter fairly, but Mr. Yan was furious at the potential loss of such a sum, hinting at "undying debt" and threatening He Jianfeng's family or police involvement. Lin Heping argued this was "too much" and proposed he be given time to speak with He Jianfeng's family to persuade them to repay the debt voluntarily. Mr. Yan reluctantly agreed but demanded an answer as soon as possible.

Lawyer Li, having just returned from overseas and learned of He Jianfeng's death, sought out Qiao Fang. He presented He Jianfeng's will and notarial certificate, revealing that He Jianfeng had bequeathed his house and RMB100,000 in savings to Qiao Fang. The will expressed He Jianfeng's regret over Qiao Fang's past departure to Spain and his gratitude for reuniting with her near the end of his life.

Qiao Fang became tearful, vehemently refusing to accept the inheritance, stating she didn't want his house or savings. Lawyer Li insisted the will must be executed, but Qiao Man intervened, asking him to give her sister time to process everything. Lawyer Li agreed to leave the documents and depart. Luo Chen, worried Xiao Xi might expose his misdeeds to Lin Heping, went to the bar to confront her.

Xiao Xi saw through his pretense, calling out his fear and reminding him of the severe consequences, including jail time, if his actions became known. Luo Chen tried to persuade her to keep his secret, claiming only she knew. Xiao Xi sternly warned him that she wouldn't continue to cover for him if he persisted in his illicit activities. Luo Chen dramatically responded that he would "willingly accept" going to jail if it were because of her.

At the company, Han Sen was drinking heavily in his office, distraught. Xiao Zhi confronted him, warning about the risks of drinking during office hours. Han Sen, however, ignored her, then bitterly revealed that Qiao Man had found herself a boyfriend. Xiao Zhi expressed disbelief that Qiao Man would reunite with Lin Heping without telling her, but Han Sen sadly confirmed that Qiao Man was serious.

Xiao Zhi asked if he was giving up on himself, to which Han Sen responded that he felt like a joke and that everyone looked down on him for childishly chasing Qiao Man. He confessed he couldn't control his feelings. Xiao Zhi reassured him, calling his naive and narcissistic qualities "cute," and urged him to "cheer up."

She reminded him of his past strength as "Han Sen from 21st Street in Barcelona," who had fought to establish himself, challenging him not to give up when the "game has just started." Ah Li, having cleaned up and changed, went to find Lin Heping, asking about Mr. Yan's visit. She complained about his distant behavior and questioned why he hadn't sent her home when she was drunk.

Lin Heping sternly warned her that if she got drunk again, she should contact others, not him, and criticized her "self-indulgence," threatening to call her brother Xu Zhensheng. Ah Li then inquired about Mr. Yan's discussions. Lin Heping briefly mentioned the Xue Lai endorsement and He Jianfeng's fake accounts, dismissing her further questions and stating he would handle everything.

As Lin Heping left, Ah Li inwardly breathed a sigh of relief, thinking that "He Jianfeng is quite loyal" for not implicating her. Wen Jing arrived from Shenzhen, much to Qiao Man and Qiao Fang's surprise and concern, as Wen Jing was still in confinement. Qiao Fang presented He Jianfeng's will to Wen Jing.

After reading it, Wen Jing furiously accused Qiao Fang of long-term scheming, claiming she had feigned love to return to He Jianfeng and seize his house after learning of his illness. Qiao Man tried to defend her sister, calling it a coincidence, but Wen Jing dismissed it, calling Qiao Fang a "scheming woman" who had planned both her abandonment and return to He Jianfeng.

Despite Qiao Fang's tearful explanations, Wen Jing pushed her and ordered both sisters out of the He family home. Qiao Man refused to leave, asserting her sister's legal right to the house and refusing to let her be bullied. Qiao Fang, however, eventually left, with Qiao Man following her out. Lin Heping went to Yi Pin to discuss the Xue Lai endorsement. Zhu Fan greeted him with sarcastic remarks about his business visit.

In his office, Han Sen immediately asked if Lin Heping was there for Xue Lai. Han Sen stated that since Xue Lai had an agreement with Yi Pin, he needed to protect her interests. He claimed that Li Ping Pavilion's quality was poor and that Xue Lai had rejected their offer after reading online comments. Lin Heping argued that rational people could distinguish between normal comments and intentional defamation, assuring Han Sen that they would investigate the truth.

Han Sen dismissed it as Lin Heping's problem. Lin Heping then pointed out that Zhu Fan was the source of the initial scandal, but Han Sen countered that Yi Pin had already paid a "RMB5 million" compensation. Lin Heping suggested they move past it and "work together. . . and win the future," but Han Sen retorted that Li Ping Pavilion wasn't "qualified to say to win the future" given their ongoing scandal.

He then accused Lin Heping of being "greedy," wanting to succeed in both love and work, gloating that Lin Heping still needed him for the Xue Lai endorsement. Lin Heping directly asked for Han Sen's conditions. Han Sen, calling Lin Heping "a straightforward man," then stated his condition: Lin Heping must "break up with Qiao Man."
