An Kailun informed Han Sen that Qiao Man was merely a pawn they had placed in Lin Heping’s company and that she would return once Zhu Fan’s case was resolved. Han Sen, angered by this cold-hearted manipulation, questioned how An Kailun could use Qiao Man in such a way. An Kailun, however, dismissed Han Sen’s concern as inexperience, stating that in business, which he considered war, anyone could be utilized.
Han Sen expressed his hope that he would never become as callous, valuing feelings over business. Early the next morning, Mr. Yan arrived at Li Ping Pavilion with his associates. Employees whispered about his unexpected and serious demeanor, recognizing him as the primary investor in the company. Mr. Yan, aware of the recent issues at Li Ping Pavilion, sought out Lin Heping.
Lin Heping immediately offered to bring in Ah Li and move to a meeting room, but Mr. Yan insisted on speaking with him alone. Mr. Yan mentioned the problems, including the failed Barcelona exhibition and the current forgery issue, and emphasized the importance of not disappointing the trust placed in Lin Heping and the company's products.
Lin Heping acknowledged their negligence but assured Mr. Yan that he and Ah Li were working to recover losses and that the business would greatly improve. Regarding the conflict with An Group, Mr. Yan advised Lin Heping to be firm in negotiations, reminding him of his support. Lin Heping defended Qiao Man's work, but Ah Li, acting as Chairwoman, declared her dissatisfaction and insisted on a company-wide competition to select the best logo design, arguing it concerned the company’s future. Lin Heping, reluctant to renege on his word to An Group, had no choice but to agree to the internal design competition, having faith that Qiao Man would win.
Ah Li then instructed Yang Lan to announce the company-wide logo design competition. Yang Lan expressed concern that Lin Heping might be displeased, but Ah Li unapologetically stated that she wanted to prove to Lin Heping that Qiao Man was not the only capable person in the company, disparaging her as "nothing but a realtor." Mortified, Qiao Man quickly pulled him away, telling him to stop blurting nonsense. Han Sen, however, insisted he was there only to see her. Ah Li summoned Lin Heping to her office. She sarcastically remarked on Qiao Man's performance, but Lin Heping clarified that Han Sen was An Kailun's younger brother and was there to cause trouble, not as Qiao Man's boyfriend. Ah Li dismissed his explanation, pointing out that Qiao Man and Han Sen had left holding hands.
She accused Lin Heping of being stubborn and blinded by Qiao Man, warning him against becoming a "relationship wrecker." She urged him to recognize her as the most important person in his life. Lin Heping, however, apologized, stating he couldn't give her the answer she desired. At a restaurant, Qiao Man angrily confronted Han Sen, calling him childish for announcing their engagement. Han Sen explained he thought a public relationship would deter others from bullying her.
Qiao Man acknowledged his good intentions but criticized his immaturity. When Han Sen speculated that she was worried about Lin Heping knowing, Qiao Man angrily told him to stop being reckless and ordered him not to come to her office again. A deeply hurt Han Sen left, while Qiao Man, reflecting on his past kindness and her promise to him, immediately regretted her harsh words.
Elsewhere, He Jianfeng had taken Qiao Fang to a beautiful flower field, a place she had always dreamed of visiting during their university days and over which they once had a fierce fight. They reminisced about their past, acknowledging that their pride might have prevented them from staying together had they not separated, but the detour had taught them to cherish each other more deeply.
As Qiao Fang expressed her belief that everything happens for the best, He Jianfeng suddenly collapsed. He Jianfeng was rushed to the hospital and admitted to the intensive care unit. The doctor informed a distraught Qiao Fang that his muscle atrophy had worsened, potentially damaging other organs. He was in the advanced stage of his illness, kept alive by a ventilator and transfusions.
Later that evening, Qiao Man was waiting for Lin Heping outside his apartment to apologize for Han Sen's behavior. Lin Heping misinterpreted her apology, suggesting she was worried about his opinion because she liked him. Qiao Man quickly clarified that her only concern was for Li Ping Pavilion and An Group to reach a settlement. To compensate Lin Heping for a past injury, Qiao Man offered to cook.
She attempted to make "Spanish seafood fried rice" but confessed she had simply fried everything she bought. Lin Heping playfully called it a "knock-off" but ate it nonetheless. As they ate, Qiao Man received a phone call from Qiao Fang and rushed to the hospital. At the hospital, Qiao Man found her sister in tears. Qiao Fang revealed that He Jianfeng was her first love, whom she had foolishly left before going abroad.
She was distraught that his illness was at an advanced stage and deeply regretted her past actions. Qiao Man comforted her sister, assuring her not to blame herself and promising to be her unwavering support. Qiao Fang vowed to stay by He Jianfeng's side to the very end. Meanwhile, Yang Lan frantically called Lin Heping, explaining that Ah Li had seen Qiao Man leaving his house earlier and, consumed by jealousy, had gone to a bar and gotten drunk.
Lin Heping hurried to the bar to help Yang Lan bring Ah Li home. On the way, Ah Li, still intoxicated, vomited. Spotting Qiao Man nearby, she deliberately embraced Lin Heping tightly, tearfully expressing her happiness to have him. Qiao Man witnessed the scene and walked away, hurt. The next morning, Han Sen waited outside Qiao Man’s apartment with breakfast.
He gloomily informed her that all his employees, except Xiao Zhi, had resigned because of the inability to sell Yi Pin Red Wine without advertising funds from An Kailun. Qiao Man chastised him for blaming others and urged him to take responsibility, reminding him that An Kailun had offered financial help which Han Sen had confidently refused. Qiao Man, drawing from her experience as a realtor, suggested organizing a "marketing exhibition."
Inspired, Han Sen eagerly announced his plans for a "red wine party," but Qiao Man quickly warned him that it was his idea entirely. Back at Ah Li’s apartment, she awoke to find Lin Heping asleep on her sofa. A secret joy brightened her heart. When Lin Heping woke, he immediately clarified that he had only stayed out of concern for her safety, stating unequivocally that a romantic relationship between them was impossible. Ah Li, heartbroken, asked him to stop, confessing that she knew his heart wasn't with her but declaring that she would wait for him, even if it took a lifetime.
