Qi Nian eagerly anticipated the Summer Firework Display and tried to convince Ji Yanxin to join her, though he was preoccupied with work and claimed he disliked fireworks for safety reasons. Undeterred, Qi Nian used their feigned romantic relationship as an excuse, suggesting they go out and take photos to appease her grandfather, who was growing suspicious due to their lack of pictures together. She revealed that her grandfather had even asked Ji Qiu to help add Ji Yanxin's WeChat.
Citing the importance of respecting an elder's wishes, Ji Yanxin agreed to an outing, choosing to visit local architectural landmarks. While touring a Princess Building, known for its Danish fairytale style, Ji Yanxin shared his passion for architecture, and Qi Nian enthusiastically captured many photos of him. He then offered to take photos of her, but his attempts were either blurry or overexposed. As Qi Nian reviewed the photos, Ji Yanxin drove them to an amusement park.
To her astonishment, he produced two reserved tickets for the firework display, which were otherwise sold out. Meanwhile, Lu Qingwu and Ji Siqi, whose car had broken down in a remote, muddy area, finally caught a tractor ride back to the city. Upon seeing Qi Nian's social media posts, Ji Siqi immediately hailed a cab to the amusement park, dragging Lu Qingwu along.
On the carousel, Lu Qingwu grew frustrated with Ji Siqi's constant scrolling through Qi Nian's updates and confronted him about his feelings for her. After a brief denial, he admitted his affection and warned Lu Qingwu not to try and poach Qi Nian for her company. Annoyed, Lu Qingwu stormed off on her own, only to get lost, her high heels causing painful blisters.
Having secretly followed her out of concern, Ji Siqi found her stranded and won a pair of flip-flops for her from a claw machine. Elsewhere in the park, Ji Yanxin reluctantly participated in a claw machine game for Qi Nian, despite finding it childish. To her amazement, he demonstrated remarkable skill, easily winning a stuffed pig. He later won five crabs in a row from another machine, impressing Qi Nian with his unexpected talent.
At the same time, Ji Siqi was captivated by a cotton candy stand. Sensing his interest, Lu Qingwu persuaded the vendor to let them use the machine, and Ji Siqi enthusiastically made an oversized cotton candy, leading to a playful argument over whose was bigger. During their crab dinner, Ji Yanxin meticulously peeled the shells for Qi Nian, who remarked how fortunate anyone would be to have such a considerate person by their side.
They shared homemade plum wine, which Qi Nian mistook for juice despite Ji Yanxin's warning about its potency. As the alcohol took effect, a tipsy Qi Nian asked about the "person he couldn't let go of," speculating it was an ex-girlfriend. Ji Yanxin clarified that his 'heart problem' was not a woman but his younger brother, Ji Siqi, whose sudden departure years ago and recent hostile return had brought back painful memories.
As the fireworks began, they boarded the Ferris wheel. Ji Yanxin started explaining the chemical principles of the 'flame reaction,' prompting Qi Nian to playfully ask him to stop the 'chemistry class.' He then turned to her, uttered the words, "I like you," and gently kissed her. At the same time, Lu Qingwu's new flip-flops broke during a squabble, forcing Ji Siqi to carry her on his back to a viewing spot.
Looking up from beneath the Ferris wheel, Ji Siqi witnessed his brother and Qi Nian kissing. From atop the wheel, Ji Yanxin also saw his brother's disheartened figure below. The next morning, Qi Nian woke up alone in a hotel room, vaguely recalling the kiss but dismissing it as a dream. When she opened her door, she found Lu Qingwu, who cryptically mentioned "the two brothers." Lu Qingwu then revealed the connection between Ji Yanxin and Ji Siqi, a fact Qi Nian had been completely unaware of.
