Early the next morning, Lady Long summoned Zhuang Momo and questioned her where she had gone all night without reporting. Zhuang Momo admitted that she had forgotten to report and apologized for being impolite. However, Liu Jingchen was instigating things, saying that Zhuang Momo clearly did not obey the rules since she didn't return home all night. Zhuang Momo defended herself, saying that she had married into the Long family but that did not mean she was not allowed to go out. Lady Long was extremely angry and felt betrayed after taking pity on Zhuang Momo, and scolded her severely. She even physically assaulted her, causing Zhuang Momo to bleed from her mouth. Even then, Lady Long refused to stop, and it was only when Long Yixiao intervened and took Zhuang Momo away that the beating ended.
Long Yixiao took Zhuang Momo to his room, where she woke up and refused to accept his concern. Just then, Long Qianchen arrived and showed great concern for Zhuang Momo. He invited her to his room, saying that he had some Jin Chuang San, but Long Yixiao disagreed and said he had some too. Zhuang Momo did not want to see the two brothers quarrel over her and tried to leave to go back to her room. However, Long Yixiao insisted that she stay with him and he would make medicine for her.
