Ye Liuxi threatened him that either the man or the rooster had to die since the rooster had eavesdropped on their conversation. In the end, Li Jin'ao sadly offered the rooster to save his own life. Gao Shen believed that Zhenshanhe perfectly matched his grandfather's description of the Exorcism Great Rooster, so he suggested keeping it, as it might be useful in the future. Ye Liuxi thought it made sense and readily agreed to spare the rooster's life.
Soon, they packed their luggage and prepared to depart. They tied Zhenshanhe to the luggage rack on the car's roof. The five of them set off once again into the desert, continuing their journey. On the other hand, Li Jin'ao was heartbroken over losing his beloved rooster. Coincidentally, he saw an inn employee about to deal with a batch of roosters, and he wanted to pick one out and buy it. At this moment, a staff member accidentally broke a bottle, creating a loud noise. The flock of roosters panicked, with one exception: a rooster that remained calm in its cage, displaying the composure of Zhenshanhe. Li Jin'ao immediately chose this one and named it "Zhensihai."
In the desolate and uninhabited desert, a solitary figure appeared, and it turned out to be the frail man who had stayed at the inn. He approached them and asked for directions, but in reality, he was signaling the giant scorpions to attack. Zhenshanhe had already fainted in fear, and even Fei Tang had been injured in the eyes. The back seat of the metal car was in chaos. Ye Liuxi drew her sword and attacked the scorpions, while Chang Dong subdued the man. After a chaotic battle, Ye Liuxi finally killed the giant scorpion. In contrast, Ding Liu was injured during the struggle with the man, with a piece of a knife handle lodged in her head.
