Xiaobao suddenly got sick. He Qiaoyan and Qin Yiyue rushed him to the hospital. He Qiaoyan tried to give him medicine, but Xiaobao wouldn’t take it. Yiyue came up with a kid-friendly strategy—pretending to be a dinosaur taking medicine. He Qiaoyan played along with exaggerated “gulp gulp” sounds, and they finally tricked Xiaobao into taking the medicine. President He bought coffee for Dr. Qin but was upset that he didn’t notice Xiaobao was sick earlier. He felt guilty. Xiaobao even shared snacks with little Dr. Qin and asked her to sleep beside him. She agreed. Then, unexpectedly, Xiaobao called her “Mommy”—they were both shocked.
The next morning, little Dr. Qin tried to sneak out and ran into He Qiaoyan. Without a word, he asked her to move in with him. She refused, but he brought up Xiaobao, saying she could explain it to him herself. Though she insisted she wouldn’t move, her heart wavered.
Back home, her best friend pitched YuniFang facial masks and reminisced about meeting the parents. Dr. Qin asked Ruowei what to do, but didn’t quite agree with her answer. Just as her best friend left, He Qiaoyan arrived with Xiaobao. As soon as he saw little Dr. Qin, Xiaobao called her “Mommy.” Though she told him not to, their time together was warm and cheerful. President He had brought Xiaobao for a check-up and was heading on a business trip, leaving Xiaobao with her.
The next morning, Xiaobao’s vitals had returned to normal. Director Huang said President He could take him home. Little Dr. Qin took a photo with the sleeping Xiaobao and sent it to He Qiaoyan. Seeing his secretary buying local specialties, President He asked for some too.
When Xiaobao woke up and didn’t see little Dr. Qin, he grabbed his tablet and searched for her. At a children's play center, he was bullied by rude parents and kids who called him mute. Just as they were getting aggressive, little Dr. Qin showed up. When she tried to take Xiaobao away, a parent rudely demanded she bring his mom to apologize.
Dr. Qin, fed up, declared she was Xiaobao’s mom and said she didn’t need to be polite to someone so unreasonable. Just then, Qingqing and others passed by and mocked Dr. Qin, saying she was desperate to become Mrs. He. Of course, little Dr. Qin wasn’t having it—she fired back, calling her a trashy ex-boyfriend recycler.
Dr. Qin brought Xiaobao back to the room and promised to always stay with him—just maybe in a different way. She also reassured him that his birth parents loved him too. In the break room, Ruowei overheard Qingqing and others gossiping about Dr. Qin. Trying to defend her friend, Ruowei accidentally spilled coffee on Qingqing. The hospital asked Ruowei to resign voluntarily.
When He Qiaoyan returned to the hospital and saw Dr. Qin cuddled up with Xiaobao, he grinned. Just as he was about to cover her with a blanket, he woke her up. Their eyes met, and the air felt sweet. He Qiaoyan nervously handed over the local treats he brought. Dr. Qin said he actually had a touch of humanity.
Then she learned about what happened to Ruowei. Qin Yiyue felt guilty, thinking it was her fault. But Ruowei reassured her that she had indeed broken the rules and had been wanting to switch jobs anyway. Later, Qin Yiyue went drinking with Ruowei and her senior. He took good care of her. The next morning, Yiyue woke Ruowei up and took her to job interviews with assistant recruitment companies she’d researched—none panned out.
Suddenly, Ruowei got a message from Wenshi Group inviting her to the final interview. Both of them were thrilled. Only after she went did she find out that it was because of He Qiaoyan’s recommendation. Yiyue was touched and planned to thank President He, only to hear that Xiaobao had gone missing.
