Unforgettable Love Episode 6 Recap
> Unforgettable Love Recap
He Qiaoyan confided in Qin Yiyue, feeling like a terrible father for not providing Poppet with a complete family, only having a house, not a home. Qin Yiyue reassured him, reminding him that he still had Poppet and was doing his best. Just then, He Qiaoyan received a phone call informing him that Poppet had a fever. As He Qiaoyan had been drinking, Qin Yiyue insisted on accompanying him to the hospital.
Upon arrival, the ER doctor confirmed Poppet's condition was not serious and prescribed medicine, but Poppet refused to take it. He Qiaoyan attempted to persuade his son, warning him that he would get angry if Poppet was disobedient. Seeing his struggle, Qin Yiyue intervened with a playful approach. She pretended a little dinosaur was sick and needed medicine, mimicking drinking it with "Gulu gulu" sounds.
He Qiaoyan joined in, pretending to drink the bitter medicine, which successfully coaxed Poppet into taking his dose. Afterwards, He Qiaoyan offered Qin Yiyue coffee, expressing his guilt that he hadn't noticed Poppet's cold earlier that morning, unlike Assistant Ma. He explained that his busy schedule often left Poppet at home alone, and Poppet rarely interacted with strangers. He noted that Qin Yiyue was the first person Poppet had ever grown dependent on.
Later, Poppet surprisingly shared his snacks with Qin Yiyue and wanted her to sleep with him, behaviors he never exhibited with anyone else. Qin Yiyue agreed to stay, citing her medical expertise should his fever return. To their astonishment, Poppet then called Qin Yiyue "Mommy," a word he had not spoken in five years. He Qiaoyan, clearly surprised, confirmed with Poppet what he had just said.
The next morning, as Qin Yiyue tried to slip away unnoticed, she ran into He Qiaoyan. He immediately told her to move into his house that night, but Qin Yiyue refused, reminding him of her previous rejection and her unwillingness to sign any agreement. He Qiaoyan countered by reminding her that she had promised Poppet, and that his speaking "Mommy" was a first in five years.
He challenged her to tell Poppet directly that she was not his mommy if her promise was merely a joke. Qin Yiyue, though visibly hesitant, asserted she would. Back home, Qin Yiyue's best friend, Ruowei, was excitedly planning to lose weight to be her bridesmaid, convinced that Qin Yiyue and He Qiaoyan were destined for marriage.
Qin Yiyue, however, recounted her "unfortunate" night, including her parents' warm reception of He Qiaoyan, making her feel like she had brought home a "concubine" vying for their attention. Ruowei suggested Qin Yiyue either explain to Poppet that her promise was a "white lie" or let He Qiaoyan handle the situation. Qin Yiyue refused to upset Poppet and doubted He Qiaoyan could find a solution.
Ruowei then speculated that Qin Yiyue's sympathy for He Qiaoyan was a sign of developing feelings, which Qin Yiyue vehemently denied. Soon after, He Qiaoyan brought Poppet back to the hospital for a comprehensive check-up, explaining that the emergency visit had been too rushed. He also made a point to say that Poppet missed Qin Yiyue. Poppet continued to call Qin Yiyue "Mommy," but Qin Yiyue tried to discourage him, explaining that the hospital was a professional environment.
He Qiaoyan then presented Qin Yiyue with breakfast, claiming Poppet had prepared it, and declared that the gossip about them was no longer a rumor because she was now Poppet's mother. Unable to refuse Poppet's heartfelt gesture, Qin Yiyue took the breakfast and left for work. At He Qiaoyan's insistence, Director Huang asked Qin Yiyue to oversee Poppet's follow-up treatment, as Poppet's personal doctor was abroad and Poppet refused to interact with strangers.
He Qiaoyan then informed Qin Yiyue that he had to leave for a business trip, asking her to care for Poppet and asserting that Poppet needed her more than he needed his father. During He Qiaoyan's absence, Qin Yiyue continued to care for Poppet, reiterating her rule about not calling her "Mommy" at the hospital, explaining it was a workplace. Poppet seemed to grasp the explanation. Director Huang confirmed that Poppet's vital signs were excellent and he could return home.
Qin Yiyue took a photo with the sleeping Poppet and sent it to He Qiaoyan. Seeing the photo, He Qiaoyan instructed his secretary to buy an extra local specialty for her. Poppet later woke up and, not seeing Qin Yiyue, hurried to find her in the children's activity center. There, another child snatched Poppet's drawing tablet and then fell. The child's mother loudly berated Poppet, calling him "a mute" and demanding to see his mother.
Qin Yiyue arrived, declared herself his mother, and told the rude parent that politeness was not required for those who lacked it. Qingqing and others passing by witnessed the scene, mocking Qin Yiyue for being desperate to become Mrs. He. Qin Yiyue quickly retorted, calling Qingqing a "recycling bin for jerks."
Qin Yiyue brought Poppet back to his room, assuring him that she would always be with him, though perhaps in different ways, just as his biological mother was now watching over him from a cloud. In the breakroom, Qingqing and her friends were gossiping about Qin Yiyue. Ruowei overheard them and defended her friend, accidentally spilling coffee on Qingqing. As a result, the hospital requested Ruowei to voluntarily resign.
He Qiaoyan returned to the hospital and saw Qin Yiyue and Poppet sleeping together. He smiled and gently tried to cover Qin Yiyue with his jacket, but she woke up, leading to an awkward moment. He Qiaoyan handed her the local specialty, and Qin Yiyue accepted, commenting that he "at least had some conscience." Qin Yiyue soon learned about Ruowei's resignation.
Feeling guilty, she was comforted by Ruowei, who assured her it wasn't her fault, as she had indeed broken hospital rules and had already been contemplating a career change. Afterward, Qin Yiyue, Ruowei, and her senior colleague went to a bar. Qin Yiyue expressed her frustrations about her messy life and her guilt over Ruowei losing her job. Her colleague advised her against being indecisive due to her kindness.
The next morning, Qin Yiyue diligently helped Ruowei search for new jobs, preparing a "lucky breakfast" and offering comforting milk tea after a series of unsuccessful interviews. Ruowei was disheartened, fearing she would become unemployed. Suddenly, Ruowei received an invitation for a final interview at the prestigious Wenshi Group. She was overjoyed but also confused, as she had never had a first interview with them. Qin Yiyue playfully suggested it was a "mystery box" recruitment.
At the final interview, Mr. Wen, the chairman, offered Ruowei a choice of available positions, and she selected Chairman Assistant. He instructed her to report for duty on Monday. Ruowei later learned from Mr. Wen that He Qiaoyan had personally introduced her to the company. Touched by his gesture, Qin Yiyue immediately called He Qiaoyan to thank him, but he urgently informed her that Poppet was missing.
