The police investigation had stalled, so she told him he was simply involved in an accident while visiting his brother. He Qiaoyan asked what Qin Yiyue's role in all this was. She also reassured Yang Ruowei, who worried about He Qiaoyan's negativity consuming her, that her "energy is great" and she would not be easily swallowed.
Back at the He family home, Qin Yiyue stayed to care for He Qiaoyan and Poppet. Despite He Qiaoyan's coldness and rejection of her attempts to connect, Qin Yiyue remained undeterred. She encouraged Poppet to be patient with his father. She also called Wen Gu, asking him to re-investigate the car accident.
She revealed that she had overheard Driver Zhang mentioning a large sum of money he received for his brother's debts the day after the accident, which made her suspect the "brake failure was intentional." She made dinner and attempted to persuade He Qiaoyan to try and recall the events of that day, firmly stating, "I don't believe that it's your fault."
