Muyun Sheng, under pressure from Mo Yuchen (also referred to as Mr. Mo), struggled in an underground room/basement. He activated his innate Youyou Mei / spiritual power, erupting with flames and breaking free from his chains. He then defeated and injured Mo Yuchen with a magically conjured knife that could eliminate worldly suffering, causing the observatory (Guanxing Pavilion) to collapse. At the same time, Mu Ruhanjiang was imprisoned in a cage at Shangyang Pass / the city gate.

He witnessed Muyun Sheng's (or a fake Muyun Sheng's) cage violently shaking and hitting the city gate, and with Mu Ruhanjiang unable to intervene, he watched it fall from the city wall. The "fake" Muyun Sheng at the city gate also killed all the silver-armored guards. Shuofeng Heye arrived alone at Shangyang Pass / the city gate, eliminated all soldiers / silver-armored guards, and rescued Mu Ruhanjiang from his cage.

The three protagonists — Muyun Sheng, Mu Ruhanjiang, and Shuofeng Heye — met on the city wall. They sat and talked as they did in their youth, reflecting on how their friendship and destinies had irrevocably changed.

Shuofeng Heye explained that he had initially come to deliver news of Hanzhou's great victory over the Muru Iron Cavalry, but had discovered that no one in Tianqi City cared about the Muru's defeat in Hanzhou anymore, as their glory had long since faded. Mu Ruhanjiang, a Muru descendant, firmly believed the Muru Iron Cavalry had not been defeated, asserting that the Muru never lose.

He recalled being abandoned by his father as a child, only to be told later that he would contend for the world with the future crown prince, a destiny that, he noted, still persisted. Muyun Sheng acknowledged that destiny cannot be changed. Shuofeng Heye asked Mu Ruhanjiang if he still held his childhood conviction not to contend for the world with Muyun Sheng, also reminding him that past pains would only deepen the wounds.

Deeply affected by the shame the Muru had endured, Mu Ruhanjiang declared his departure from Tianqi City, vowing that upon his return, he would pull the Muyun clan from the throne. Despite the evident fracture in their brotherhood, Muyun Sheng stated that Mu Ruhanjiang would always be his most cared-for friend and reminded him of their past agreement.

Shuofeng Heye, contemplating the exclusive nature of power, understood why the Iron King Sword could only be drawn by one person, explaining that emperors are the loneliest people, without brothers, friends, or lovers. He proclaimed that the Muyun era was decaying, the Muru's time was past, and his Northland warriors would soon reach Tianqi City to establish a new order in Kyushu. Mu Ruhanjiang rejected this, asserting that the Muru would always protect the world.

He promised Muyun Sheng that if Muyun Sheng ascended to the throne and brought suffering to Kyushu, he would fulfill their agreement to draw swords against him, ensuring Muyun Sheng did not fail the people of the realm. After their poignant meeting, the three protagonists departed separately.

Shuofeng Heye, before returning to Hanzhou, reflected on the unshared nature of power, resolving that after helping Tie Yuan conquer the world, he would leave, as the world ultimately cannot be shared by brothers. Meanwhile, Muyun Hege was preoccupied with preparations for his impending coronation. While trying on his father's dragon robes and complaining to Mr. Xue about them being too tight, he received an urgent report from Yu Xinji.

Yu Xinji informed him that either Muyun Luan's forces or Jing Wang of Yuezhou's army had reached Shangyang Pass and requested troops for a rescue effort. However, Muyun Hege, solely focused on his ascension, refused to dispatch troops, stating he would only discuss such matters after his coronation. At the Kyushu Inn, Lan Yuer prepared Nanku Yueli for the coronation, applying makeup for the last time before her own departure from Tianqi City with Muyun De.

Lan Yuer told Nanku Yueli that by the next day, she would be the most noble woman in the world. Nanku Yueli believed this was her rightful due. She specifically refused to let Lan Yuer cover her facial scar, declaring it a symbol of her sacrifices and ambition, and wanting the entire world to witness how terrifying and powerful she was, ensuring no one would ever look down on her again.

Qin Yufeng arrived, delivering a grand ceremonial Empress's dress, adorned with eighty-one mermaid pearls, a gift from Muyun Hege, signifying his intentions. Nanku Yueli, with tears in her eyes, felt she had won this unspoken war and was destined to be the sole Empress of the Duan Dynasty. She was shown waiting in her grand red gown for the ceremonial officer to escort her to the palace.

Yu Xinji visited Muyun Sheng in Weiping Zhai, expressing his unease and worry about Muyun Hege's impending coronation and the potential harm it posed to Muyun Sheng, especially given Muyun Sheng's serene demeanor while painting. Muyun Sheng probed the meaning of being good, kind, and loyal, defining loyalty as a sworn commitment to follow a trusted person to the death, fulfilling their wishes even in defeat.

Muyun Sheng advised Yu Xinji to act on his convictions, as he himself had things he must do. Feeling guided, Yu Xinji bid farewell, hinting that answers to Muyun Sheng's questions would manifest the following day. That night, Yu Xinji solemnly placed Muru armor before the Muru family tomb / ancestral hall, redonned the Muru clan emblem / armor, and worshipped, reaffirming his unwavering loyalty to the Muru.

On the day of the coronation, Muyun Hege and Nanku Mingyi, now wearing Empress Dowager robes, were triumphant, believing the empire was definitively theirs. Muyun Hege knelt before Nanku Mingyi, who was seated on her high throne. Nanku Mingyi inquired about Nanku Yueli's future, to which Muyun Hege assured her that he would address Nanku Yueli's situation once the empire was stabilized.

Simultaneously, at Kyushu Inn, Nanku Yueli, dressed in her grand red gown, eagerly awaited the ceremonial officer to escort her to the palace to become the Empress of the Duan Dynasty.
