Muru Su sought Muru Hanjiang in the forest, but Hanjiang, perched in a tree, did not reveal himself. Meanwhile, Muyun Yanshuang learned from a letter originating from Tianqi City, seen via Gusong Tuo or Gusong Zhi, that Emperor Muyun Qin had appointed Muyun Sheng as Crown Prince.
Rushing to a lake, she found Muyun Han, who revealed the precarious political situation: his return to court meant a fierce struggle, as disgruntled ministers, dissatisfied with Muyun Sheng's new position, intended to install Muyun Han as the next emperor and demand Muyun Qin's abdication. Should Muyun Han refuse, they would simply select another prince.
Although Muyun Yanshuang wished to alleviate his worries, Muyun Han believed the impending conflict was inevitable and resolved to return to Tianqi City to confront it. Before his departure, Muyun Han entrusted the military command of the Muyun Yinjia army to Muyun Yanshuang. Feeling guilty over past actions involving Shuofeng Heye, Muyun Yanshuang knelt to resign.
However, Muyun Han, trusting her capabilities, rejected her resignation, urging her to remember her duty and not let personal feelings impede her actions, acknowledging her "subtle feelings" for Shuofeng Heye, whom she had saved multiple times since childhood.
He expressed his wish for her to effectively guard Hanzhou, enabling him to engage the defiant Hanzhou people in a true mounted battle using the formidable Muyun cavalry, as the reputation of the Muru Iron Cavalry had been declining in the region for the past three hundred years, and he wanted to humble them. Muyun Yanshuang, understanding this was Muyun Han's heart's desire, vowed to secure Hanzhou and help him achieve his goal.
Amidst this, Shuofeng Heye and Su He, enveloped in thick fog, finally reached the peak before Hanzhou's Black Forest, deciding to rest and enter the following morning. That night, Gusong Tuo or Gusong Zhi relayed the legend of the Chilang cavalry to Muyun Yanshuang, accompanying it with Hanzhou tribal songs played by musicians, including an epic performed by Kusumanman. The legend described Chilang as day-humans and night-wolves, possessing a wolf's form and a horse's nature, making them trainable as mounts.
The epic further revealed the Hanzhou people's profound fear of the Black Forest: approaching it meant that as night fell, the "Hate Witch's bells" would summon Chilang to one's tribe, where they would kill all men, impregnate the women, and return the following year to kill those women and take the newborn Chilang. Muyun Yanshuang was astonished by these terrifying creatures but immediately recognized their potential for warfare, formulating a plan to tame them for her army.
Gusong Zhi, however, laughingly remarked that the Chilang already belonged to Shuofeng Heye, a claim Muyun Yanshuang doubted, believing Shuofeng Heye alone could not subdue them. The next morning, Shuofeng Heye and Su He arrived at the Black Forest's entrance. Su He, utilizing his Satan ability, peered into the forest, seeing a colossal Chilang nest, a black-clothed woman standing nearby, and a large pool of blood at her feet.
After revealing he saw the Chilang nest, Su He guided Shuofeng Heye into the silent, eerie, and seemingly lifeless forest, where they unexpectedly encountered another human. Shuofeng Heye entrusted his Kuafu Axe to Su He, instructing him to wait, and approached the man alone. He found the man covered in fur, wearing a wolf-skin hood, and exuding a familiar scent.
The man greeted Shuofeng Heye with "you've arrived," then, pointing out Heye's pain and loneliness, trapped him in a secret technique illusion. Within the illusion, Shuofeng Heye found himself back in his ancestral Shuofeng tribe, everything appearing exactly as he remembered. He saw his deceased parents and his father, Shuofeng Da, who, still appearing kind and affectionate, taught him hunting skills and lovingly prepared him hot milk tea.
Overwhelmed by years of longing, Shuofeng Heye wept like a child before his father, only for Shuofeng Da to suddenly stab him. The blow instantly awakened Shuofeng Heye, who was shocked to find the assailant was the strange Chilang man. The Chilang man, harboring deep hatred for the Hanzhou people, intended to abandon Shuofeng Heye in the Black Forest to die slowly.
Shuofeng Heye defiantly refused this fate, asserting his belief that he was Iron King, the King of Mountains and Earth, destined for a greater mission, and thus could not, and would not, die there. While Shuofeng Heye was trapped, Chilang men targeted Su He, who was still waiting. Despite his normally cowardly nature, Su He was provoked by their taunts and bravely used the Kuafu Axe to kill one of the Chilang men.
Enraged by the death of their kin, the remaining Chilang men quickly overwhelmed the defenseless Su He, and within moments, the strange Chilang man took him to the Chilang tribe's territory. At the Chilang nest, the leading Chilang man delivered Su He to the witch Hongniao Amu, who showed keen interest in the two Hanzhou intruders. She swiftly moved to Su He, ordering the man to retrieve Shuofeng Heye's body.
After the man departed, Hongniao Amu unleashed her power, suspending Su He from a tree and making branches or roots penetrate his body, specifically his forehead, intending for him to live through her. Resisting her control, Su He began reciting a Satan blessing spell, which, to everyone's surprise, caused Hongniao Amu to tremble in terror. Meanwhile, Shuofeng Heye, severely injured and unconscious, lay in the Black Forest, which, at night, became a hunting ground for wolves.
Just as he was about to become prey, the Snow Wolf King appeared, chasing the wolves away and saving him. Shuofeng Heye, grateful for the rescue, recognized the King as a friend. He reaffirmed his identity as Iron King, King of Mountains and Earth, asserting he would not perish there and had an important mission awaiting him.
Witnessing Shuofeng Heye's grave condition, the Snow Wolf King howled in sorrow, then, as a gesture of repayment, voluntarily spat out its own heart for Shuofeng Heye before departing. Upon awakening, Su He found himself beside a beautiful woman. The strange Chilang man inquired about the witch, explaining that she was an executioner sent by the gods, and her demise would free the Chilang tribe from their nightly transformation.
However, Su He claimed to have only seen the woman, not the witch. Having entrusted the Muyun Yinjia army to Muyun Yanshuang, Muyun Han departed for Tianqi City. Immediately after his departure, Muyun Yanshuang ordered Gusong Zhi to lead an expedition to the Black Forest to find Shuofeng Heye and capture the Chilang cavalry.
