Gu Huaiheng's plan to acquire Future Group became public knowledge due to a leak from Feite Investment, sparking widespread discussion. Upon learning this, Jiang Wenbin, who was revealed to be seriously ill with little time left, secretly contacted Gu Lingse. They had formed an alliance during their first encounter, aiming to bring down Gu Huaiheng and prevent his hostile takeover of Future Group, thereby protecting Ye Chengshu's company. Meanwhile, news of Dingzhuang Group's acquisition plot spread.

Upon learning that Feite Investment was the source of the leak, Gu Huaiheng was furious. At Future Group, Ye Chengshu's assistant expressed suspicion about Gu Lingse, suggesting she might be feigning help to sow discord between Ye Chengshu and Chairman Jiang. Ye Chengshu, however, dismissed the concerns and decided to speak with Jiang Wenbin directly. Aware of the urgency, Jiang Wenbin called Gu Lingse and asked her to expedite her marriage to Ye Chengshu.

He explained that Gu Huaiheng had seen through his earlier pretenses, making their marriage the only way to stall the acquisition plan. Gu Lingse readily agreed. Soon after, Gu Huaiheng arranged a meeting with Jiang Wenbin at the beach. Unbeknownst to them, Ye Chengshu and Gu Lingse were secretly observing their conversation.

Gu Huaiheng reminded Jiang Wenbin about a prior agreement made on a yacht and the preparations for a press conference, hinting at a complex relationship between the two rivals. After the meeting, Gu Lingse expressed her hesitation to Ye Chengshu about the sudden marriage, admitting she felt she had no other choice. Ye Chengshu reassured her, emphasizing that their relationship was not about business interests and offering to respect her decision.

Moved by his sincerity, Gu Lingse firmly declared her readiness, stating, "Let's get married now." They sealed their decision with a kiss and later obtained their marriage certificate. Public reaction to their sudden marriage was immediate, with online comments speculating on the reasons behind it. Ming Rixin, having learned that Ye Chengshu and Gu Lingse had legally married, broke the news to a distraught Quan Zimo.

She offered him a "Quick Acting Heart Reliever" and advised him that one must let go of the old to embrace the new. She then insisted they take time off to go for drinks. At the bar, a heartbroken Quan Zimo lamented that he had "no hope left at all" now that Gu Lingse was married, while Ming Rixin encouraged him to cherish the present. Ye Chengshu's mother, Yun Piaopiao, affectionately known as Piaopiao, unexpectedly returned to the country.

She playfully confronted Ye Chengshu, annoyed that he hadn't informed her about his marriage. She explained she had been forced to change her phone number frequently due to an "oil magnate" harassing her, making it impossible for Ye Chengshu to reach her. Piaopiao initially expressed strong disapproval of the marriage, particularly because Gu Lingse was from the rival Dingzhuang Group and her father, Gu Huaiheng, was a long-standing opponent.

She even playfully pretended to be a romantic rival upon meeting Gu Lingse, causing a brief misunderstanding. Once the confusion was cleared, Gu Lingse was surprised by Piaopiao's youthful appearance. Piaopiao softened, admitting she found Gu Lingse "lovely" despite her disdain for Gu Huaiheng, whom she called a "bad old guy." While she still cautioned Ye Chengshu, she ultimately assured him she would not interfere with his decisions.

Piaopiao then cooked a special "Ye Family home cooking" meal for the newlyweds, playfully clarifying there was no shrimp, a reference to a previous cooking mishap. During dinner, she revealed she had briefly interrupted her world travels to see them before resuming her adventures. Later that night, Piaopiao took Gu Lingse out clubbing with her "good sisters," where Gu Lingse, initially reserved, eventually got swept up in the festive atmosphere and drank heavily.

Piaopiao brought a very inebriated Gu Lingse home and handed her over to Ye Chengshu. A tipsy Gu Lingse affectionately told Ye Chengshu, "When I'm with you, I'm the happiest," causing Piaopiao to retreat to her room, jokingly unable to bear their sweet talk. Ye Chengshu gently took care of his wife, helping her change and offering her a bitter "sober-up tea."

While in her drunken state, Gu Lingse answered a phone call, chastising the caller as a "disgusting old man" and "boring" before hanging up, presumably rejecting a call from Gu Huaiheng. As Ye Chengshu leaned in for a kiss, Gu Lingse unexpectedly appeared to sober up slightly, wondering aloud about the effectiveness of the sobering tea, much to his playful annoyance. He then lovingly watched her fall asleep.
