Ye Chengshu unknowingly fed Gu Lingse shrimp, triggering a severe seafood allergy. As her allergy medicine had run out, Ye Chengshu insisted on taking her to the hospital immediately, despite the heavy rain outside, as waiting for their regular doctor would take too long. After their initial ride-hail was stuck in traffic, Ye Chengshu, seeing Gu Lingse’s distress, carried her out into the pouring rain to a waiting vehicle, which then rushed them to the hospital.
The driver, witnessing Ye Chengshu’s deep concern, remarked on his reliability. At the hospital, Gu Lingse reassured Ye Chengshu that she would recover. Ye Chengshu then confessed that Ming Rixin had suggested he arrange the birthday dinner, offering Future Group's cooperation with Mingri Group as a condition. To make amends for the allergy incident, Gu Lingse playfully requested that Ye Chengshu cook her another big dinner once she recovered, but without any shrimp.
He readily agreed, promising to cook whatever she desired. Feeling tired, Gu Lingse asked him to stay by her side as she drifted off to sleep. A nurse later confirmed that Gu Lingse’s condition was stable but required observation, as she had suffered from anaphylactic shock, excessive fatigue, and hypoglycemia. Ye Chengshu assured the nurse he would look after her throughout the night.
Gu Lingse then had a dream of her mother lovingly feeding her an apple and reminding her to be cautious. Meanwhile, Gu Huaiheng was furious upon learning of Gu Lingse's hospitalization through the media, fearing her growing emotional connection with Ye Chengshu would lead her to help Future Group. He immediately ordered Bei Chen to retrieve Gu Lingse from the hospital and bring her home.
When Bei Chen arrived with his men, he confronted Ye Chengshu, insisting on taking Gu Lingse back under Chairman Gu’s orders. He argued that she needed rest at home with their private doctor and warned of potential damage to their companies' stock prices if the news persisted. However, Ye Chengshu firmly refused, asserting he would personally care for Gu Lingse and would not allow her to be moved.
When Bei Chen ordered his men to remove Gu Lingse's IV, Ye Chengshu physically intervened, vehemently telling them not to touch her. Seeing Ye Chengshu’s unyielding determination, Bei Chen backed down and left. To ensure her safety, Ye Chengshu then instructed hospital security to prevent any unauthorized visitors until she recovered. Gu Lingse, witnessing his fierce protection, was deeply moved.
At Ming Ri Group, Ming Rixin encountered Quan Zimo and informed him about Gu Lingse's hospitalization, offering to drive him there. Quan Zimo, however, chose not to visit, stating that with Ye Chengshu by her side, Gu Lingse would be fine. Ming Rixin jokingly called him a "sensible backup." Elsewhere, Zhang Chengfeng and Li Polang, who had been trying to meet Gu Huaiheng, presented their "Ultimate Human House" project, also known as "Back Garden Sharing," which proposed underground living.
Gu Huaiheng scornfully dismissed their idea and them, calling them "good-for-nothing dogs." Later, unable to find Ye Chengshu, Zhang Chengfeng and Li Polang approached Jiang Han about their "Garden in the Air" project instead. Jiang Han politely declined, stating the board had already halted the project. Jiang Han had earlier presented his own "Shi Zi Shui Project Plan" to his father, Jiang Wenbin, hoping to reconcile the differences between his father and Ye Chengshu.
However, Jiang Wenbin harshly rejected the plan, accusing Jiang Han of having ulterior motives and trying to use the opportunity to gain power for himself. He asserted that the Mulin County project was a matter between him and Ye Chengshu, not Jiang Han, before angrily dismissing his son. Previously, Ming Rixin's father had instructed her to set up a meeting for Ye Chengshu regarding Mulin County, advising her to arrange for an investor named Mr. Ming to meet him.
Subsequently, while at the hospital, Ye Chengshu received a call from Ming Rixin, who informed him she had secured an investor and scheduled a meeting for the following day. Eager to prepare, Ye Chengshu and Gu Lingse used their time at the hospital that night to review and optimize the project proposal.
Gu Lingse praised Jiang Han’s initial plan for Mulin County but raised concerns about the need to demolish original buildings, which her father had designed to coexist harmoniously with the natural environment. They discussed the challenge of attracting investors without incorporating more commercial elements. The next day, Ye Chengshu arrived at the appointed location, expecting to meet an investor. He was directed by staff to what he believed was a meeting with "Mr. Ming of Jinke Group."
However, upon entering, he realized he had been tricked into attending a "CEO Training Course." He was further frustrated when he was told he couldn't make phone calls during the confidential session, just as he received a critical message from Gu Lingse regarding the Mulin project.
