Love Together (Trial Marriage) Episode 19 Recap
> Love Together (Trial Marriage) Recap
As residents of Yushan Street confronted real estate scammers, the scammers' bosses, Zhang Chengfeng and Li Polang, arrived. Upon recognizing Ye Chengshu and Gu Lingse, they quickly made their excuses and departed. The locals, distrustful of developers, were suspicious of Ye Chengshu’s presence. Gu Lingse quickly intervened, reassuring them that Ye Chengshu was merely a friend visiting.
She then advised Ye Chengshu that the community harbored strong prejudices against developers and suggested he avoid coming to Yushan Street without a pressing reason. Noticing a stain on his clothes, Gu Lingse offered to take him to Uncle Zhao’s house for a change. Ye Chengshu accepted and followed her. At Uncle Zhao’s home, after Ye Chengshu changed, Uncle Zhao astutely deduced Ye Chengshu's true interest in Gu Lingse.
Ye Chengshu clarified that while he was officially in the area for a project inspection, his primary motivation was to be near Gu Lingse’s mother, Mu Qiuhui, and aid her recovery. Uncle Zhao then took Ye Chengshu for a walk around the neighborhood. During their stroll, Uncle Zhao encouraged Ye Chengshu to pursue Gu Lingse, praising her kind personality and attractive looks. Soon after, Mu Qiuhui appeared.
Mu Qiuhui, suffering from a fragile mental state and memory impairment, saw Ye Chengshu wearing Uncle Zhao's old clothes. She became excited, mistaking him for Uncle Zhao from their youth, whom she affectionately called "Brother Zhao." Uncle Zhao initially tried to deflect her, concerned about how this might affect her delicate condition, and subtly urged Ye Chengshu to leave. However, Gu Lingse, understanding her mother's vulnerable state, quietly signaled to Ye Chengshu to humor her.
Ye Chengshu, recognizing the need to maintain calm, agreed to be "Brother Zhao," much to Mu Qiuhui’s delight. Overjoyed, she insisted he stay for dinner and eagerly began preparing his favorite spicy dishes. Meanwhile, Quan Zimo, observing Ye Chengshu and Gu Lingse from a distance, muttered to himself that Ye Chengshu, whom he considered a mere "toy boy," was not a suitable partner for his "boss."
He believed she deserved someone more capable, someone who possessed both intellect and strength, like himself. Back at the dinner table, Mu Qiuhui proudly presented the spicy meal. Ye Chengshu, who suffered from a gastric ulcer and could not tolerate spicy food, bravely tried to eat the dishes to uphold the pretense. However, his discomfort was undeniable. Mu Qiuhui soon noticed his aversion to spice, realizing this contradicted the true "Brother Zhao's" preferences. She became agitated, accusing him of deception.
Gu Lingse swiftly intervened, comforting her mother and leading her away to rest. Seizing the opportunity, Uncle Zhao reiterated his demand for Ye Chengshu to leave, emphasizing his concern for Mu Qiuhui's unstable mental health. Ye Chengshu explained that he was committed to helping her recover and had already consulted PTSD experts. He even made a call to his assistant, Quan Zimo, asking him to urgently find a specialist to develop a formal treatment plan.
Despite this, Uncle Zhao insisted he depart, fearing any further disruption. Ye Chengshu, though disheartened, acknowledged Uncle Zhao's concerns. As he was being walked out, he disclosed his true intention to secure the Yushan Street reconstruction project, explaining that he would be staying nearby regardless. Uncle Zhao warned him that the residents were notoriously difficult and that redeveloping the street would put him at odds with Gu Lingse.
Suddenly, Ye Chengshu clutched his stomach in pain, his gastric ulcer flaring up. Gu Lingse, who had overheard their conversation, rushed to his side. She was distressed to learn he had just been discharged from the hospital for the same condition and had deliberately eaten the spicy food to avoid upsetting her mother. Concerned, Gu Lingse implored Uncle Zhao to allow Ye Chengshu to stay for the night.
Though hesitant, Uncle Zhao eventually agreed and went to find medicine for him. Gu Lingse helped Ye Chengshu into a room, gently scolding him for neglecting his health. He explained his condition was a result of his busy, solitary life and, most importantly, her sudden disappearance. As she prepared to leave, Ye Chengshu tried to stop her, but she insisted he take his medicine and rest.
In a separate matter, Quan Zimo learned that a wealthy heir named Li Er from the Li Group was pursuing Ming Rixin. Enraged, Quan Zimo instructed his assistant to immediately release all compromising information about Li Er to the public, expressing a desire for Li Er to seek direct revenge against him. Concurrently, Jiang Han had his men apprehend Zhang Chengfeng and Li Polang.
He presented them with their old account book, revealing their past fraudulent activities and threatening them with imprisonment. Jiang Han pressed them for information about a hidden camera from his previous meeting with Gu Huaiheng. Eager to secure their release, they suggested that Gu Huaiheng's youngest daughter, Gu Peiya, might possess such information. Once they had divulged what they knew, Jiang Han allowed them to leave.
Immediately afterwards, Jiang Han contacted the police, providing them with the incriminating evidence of the pair's scams, referring to it as a "grand gift." The following morning, Ye Chengshu was engrossed in preparing a "Project Book for the Overall Reconstruction of Yushan Street." Uncle Zhao brought him breakfast but reiterated that Ye Chengshu still needed to leave, as his resemblance to a young "Brother Zhao" was destabilizing Mu Qiuhui. In response, Ye Chengshu formally presented his comprehensive "Rehabilitation Plan for Mu Qiuhui," outlining a strategy to gradually rebuild her trust and help her confront and overcome her forgotten traumas.
