After Gu Huaiheng unilaterally released the blueprint for the new residential project, Jiang Wenbin wrongly accused Gu Lingse of leaking it, strategically concealing that Jiang Han was the actual culprit. To prove her innocence, Gu Lingse revealed to Ye Chengshu that she had been aware of the Ecological Floating Island project for a while and that Gu Huaiheng had initially intended for her to use her connection with Ye Chengshu to acquire the designs.
She clarified that her decision to marry Ye Chengshu was her own and that she intended to support him. However, Jiang Wenbin remained distrustful, accusing Gu Lingse of aiding Gu Huaiheng against Future Group and questioning her loyalty. Ye Chengshu intervened, prompting Jiang Wenbin to rebuke him for defending Gu Lingse and betraying Ye Nanchuan’s legacy. To safeguard Gu Lingse, Ye Chengshu publicly feigned displeasure, declaring her and her family unwelcome at Future Group and having her escorted out.
Privately, however, he reassured her of his trust and urged her to return home, promising to follow soon. Feeling dejected, Gu Lingse returned to the Gu family residence. There, Gu Peiya mocked her about being rejected by Ye Chengshu. Gu Huaiheng quickly summoned Gu Lingse to his study, commenting that she had come back after experiencing difficulties outside.
Gu Lingse affirmed her return, stating she had realized her previous approach to fight Future Group was wrong and would now take a more direct route. Gu Huaiheng warned her that this was her sole chance to rectify her path, to which Gu Lingse acknowledged her understanding and declared her readiness to take charge of the project now that the blueprints were secured. Gu Huaiheng then instructed her to host the upcoming press conference.
He imparted his belief that love is fleeting and only interests endure, a sentiment Gu Lingse acknowledged as consistent with their family's philosophy. Meanwhile, Ye Chengshu clarified to Jiang Wenbin that his public rejection of Gu Lingse was a strategic maneuver to shield her from Gu Huaiheng's machinations and eliminate any opportunities for his adversary.
Jiang Wenbin then recounted the founding of Future Group, detailing how he, Ye Nanchuan, and Gu Huaiheng had established it after college, driven by shared dreams. The company flourished thanks to Ye Nanchuan's innovative designs until Gu Huaiheng became fixated on the "Garden in the Air" project. Despite Ye Nanchuan's concerns about its safety and calls to build on their existing strengths, Gu Huaiheng, as the chief designer, forcefully pushed the project forward.
The "Garden in the Air" ultimately collapsed during construction, and Ye Nanchuan suffered severe injuries while saving others. Gu Huaiheng capitalized on the disaster by selling all his shares in Future Group and establishing Dingzhuang Group. Upon learning the full story, Ye Chengshu was incensed and resolved to avenge his father's suffering.
Ye Chengshu also made arrangements for his mother, Yun Piaopiao, to go abroad for a relaxing trip, recognizing that she would be under immense stress amidst the escalating corporate conflict. Yun Piaopiao expressed her firm belief in Gu Lingse's good nature, but Ye Chengshu gently explained the situation's complexity, assuring his mother that he would manage everything and requesting her continued support. At the subsequent press conference, Gu Lingse confidently unveiled the "Ecological Floating Island" as a groundbreaking residential concept.
She described it as a sophisticated system that integrated nature and intelligence, moving beyond traditional ground-based architecture. Observing her presentation, Ye Chengshu realized it was time to execute his counter-plan. Later that evening, Gu Lingse and Ye Chengshu met privately. Ye Chengshu, still concerned, attempted to explain his earlier actions as a protective measure and hinted at inherent flaws in the floating island project.
However, aware that her father’s bodyguards were monitoring her, Gu Lingse was forced to feign a cold demeanor. She asserted that the project was Dingzhuang Group's concern and her definitive decision, then likened their rivalry to a motorcycle race where only opponents exist and only one winner can emerge—a clear declaration of war. Understanding her predicament, Ye Chengshu acknowledged and respected her stance.
News quickly spread that Gu Lingse had acquired a controlling 51% stake in Future Group, making her its largest shareholder. She promptly arrived at Future Group's offices, announcing her new authority to participate in all decisions and initiate a double audit of ongoing projects. During a general shareholder meeting, Ye Chengshu confronted Managers Zhang and Li, who disingenuously claimed innocence regarding the company's predicament. Ye Chengshu subtly implied that everyone present knew who was truly responsible.
Recognizing the critical state of Future Group and honoring his promise to Ye Nanchuan to support Ye Chengshu, Jiang Wenbin publicly offered to transfer all his shares to Ye Chengshu to prevent the company's collapse. Despite Jiang Han's furious protests, Jiang Wenbin formalized the transfer, officially instating Ye Chengshu as the Chairman of Future Group. Jiang Han confronted his father about the decision, but Jiang Wenbin remained resolute, instructing his son to assist Ye Chengshu.
Following the meeting, Gu Lingse and Ye Chengshu had another brief encounter. Gu Lingse declared that time waits for no one in business and she had no interest in reminiscing about the past. Ye Chengshu reminded her of his previous assurance that their relationship transcended mere profit. As Gu Lingse departed, an intern from the design department, demonstrating fierce loyalty to Ye Chengshu, angrily accosted her.
Gu Lingse calmly instructed her assistant, Beichen, to treat Ye Chengshu with respect, acknowledging his new role as Chairman of Future Group, and then directed the human resources department to arrange an etiquette training class for the company's employees.
