Lailai, dressed in her wedding gown, left Ye Kai awestruck. However, ever the thrifty planner, she started cutting down items from the wedding package, including the bubble machine, seafood, souvenirs, cigarettes, and liquor. She suggested they could provide these items themselves and even proposed Shao Mo Li as their free MC. Ye Kai playfully questioned her choices, reminding her that Shao Mo Li was supposed to be his best man, but Lailai insisted.

Later that evening, An Yu, Shao Mo Li, Lailai, and Ye Kai gathered for dinner. Shao Mo Li suggested moving in with An Yu. An Yu agreed, telling Lailai that Shao Mo Li could take over her room. Lailai expressed sadness about leaving An Yu before her wedding, but An Yu reassured her, calling her "silly Lailai" and promising that they would still live close by and continue to share meals and drinks as four friends.

Ye Kai then playfully declared that one house would be the "An Residence" and the other the "Jin Residence," joking that Lailai and An Yu, as the "first names on the household register," would decide how they'd all combine households in the future. Everyone happily toasted to their future together. That night, Lailai began moving her dolls to the new place, while Shao Mo Li helped An Yu pack.

Ye Kai, eager to share a bed with Lailai, was told he would be sleeping on the sofa. An Yu then gave Shao Mo Li a tour of her apartment, emphasizing respect and goodwill to ensure a harmonious "An Residence." Meanwhile, Zhou Yuan continued his desperate attempts to acquire the remaining five percent of Zhuoyue shares he needed. He met Mr. Ke, who firmly refused to sell his shares.

Determined, Zhou Yuan instructed his assistant, Ding, to arrange meetings with other shareholders, Mr. Luo, Mr. Yang, and Mr. Huang. Soon after, Lin Zhanhong sent Zhou Yuan a message, inviting him to meet, addressing him as "nephew" based on their family connection. They met at the same noodle shop they had visited before.

Lin Zhanhong revealed that he was fully aware of Zhou Yuan's true identity and all his actions against Xingchen Financial, An Wenbin, and his ambition to take over Zhuoyue. Zhou Yuan, unflinching, stated he would never let Lin Zhanhong off. Lin Zhanhong commented on Zhou Yuan's hot-headedness, similar to his father, but then asked if pursuing a "mere misunderstanding" to such an extent was truly worth it.

Zhou Yuan scoffed at the idea of a misunderstanding, declaring that he had been conserving his strength for years, waiting for Lin Zhanhong's return to make him experience the pain of abandonment. Lin Zhanhong then coldly laid out the full extent of his manipulation. He detailed how Zhou Yuan had mortgaged all of Yimi Capital's assets to purchase He Shuo's shares and had even resorted to high-interest loans from Yuan Wei, despite having no collateral.

He questioned how Zhou Yuan planned to repay these debts, suggesting that no other shareholders would sell their shares to him. Lin Zhanhong then offered a condescending solution: if Zhou Yuan would beg, he might consider repurchasing Zhou Yuan's Zhuoyue shares, urging him to consider the fate of his wife and child. Zhou Yuan, fueled by rage, vowed he would never bow to Lin Zhanhong or sell his father's shares, even if it meant losing everything.

Lin Zhanhong merely smiled, explaining that every seemingly random event—He Shuo's sudden demands, the quick contract, his abrupt departure to Melbourne, and Yuan Wei's willingness to lend money—was all part of a meticulously crafted trap. He explained that a person consumed by hatred easily loses rationality and falls into schemes, concluding with a chilling statement that Zhou Yuan had lost from the very beginning. Lin Zhanhong then left.

Mi Lu tried repeatedly to contact Zhou Yuan, but his phone was off. She searched for him at all his usual haunts, eventually finding him drunk and disoriented by the roadside. She tried to persuade him to come home, mentioning Yiyi and the dinner waiting for him. But Zhou Yuan was lost in his past, rambling about his father's death, their confiscated home, and his mother's demise, consumed by his hatred for Lin Zhanhong.

When Mi Lu tried to lead him home, he pushed her away, insisting that Lin Zhanhong owed his father an apology. Meanwhile, back at An Yu’s place, Ye Kai swiftly departed with Lailai after helping move Shao Mo Li’s belongings. As An Yu and Shao Mo Li organized the remaining boxes into the storeroom, An Yu’s dog, Ice Cream, accidentally made a mess, dirtying some of her father's old items.

While cleaning, An Yu discovered a letter from Zhou Yuan’s father, Xiao Feng, addressed to her own father, An Wenbin. The letter revealed a shocking truth: An Wenbin had always been a loyal friend, lending Xiao Feng money and trying to help him escape his predicament, nearly going bankrupt himself.

Xiao Feng expressed deep gratitude to An Wenbin and also acknowledged that Lin Zhanhong's refusal to lend him money, though painful at the time, was likely a rational decision made for his own good. Xiao Feng admitted his weakness, exhaustion, and inability to face a new start, regretting the suffering his wife and child had endured. He took full responsibility for his downfall, stating that he could only repay his debts in the next life.

This letter completely contradicted Zhou Yuan's long-held belief that his father was betrayed and that Lin Zhanhong and An Wenbin were responsible for his death. Shao Mo Li realized the letter's significance and urged An Yu to show it to Zhou Yuan, but when An Yu tried to call him, his phone was off. Later, An Yu found Mi Lu drinking alone at a bar.

An Yu had recently learned about Mi Lu and Zhou Yuan's childhood connection and the complications of their relationship. Mi Lu, still reeling from Zhou Yuan's desperation, tried to gather support by seeking help from people she had once assisted, but they all refused, citing the high risks involved with Zhuoyue and Lin Zhanhong's influence. They advised her to distance herself from Zhou Yuan.

An Yu, realizing the true nature of the past, handed Mi Lu Xiao Feng's letter, emphasizing that it contained the truth and Zhou Yuan needed to see it. After reading the letter, Mi Lu refused to give it to Zhou Yuan, fearing he would be unable to cope with the revelation that his life's obsession with revenge was based on a monumental misunderstanding. At that moment, Ding called Mi Lu, informing her that Zhou Yuan was in trouble.

As Shao Mo Li left work, he witnessed Lin Zhanhong being abducted. He gave chase and soon realized that Zhou Yuan was behind the kidnapping. Zhou Yuan had taken Lin Zhanhong to his father’s grave, violently demanding that Lin Zhanhong kneel and apologize. Lin Zhanhong defiantly refused, stating he had done nothing wrong and that Xiao Feng's death was a result of his own insatiable greed, not anyone else's fault.

Enraged, Zhou Yuan threatened to kill Lin Zhanhong if he didn't apologize, raising a golf club as he counted to three. Just as he was about to strike, Mi Lu, An Yu, and Ding arrived. Ding tackled Zhou Yuan, preventing him from harming Lin Zhanhong. Mi Lu then handed Zhou Yuan his father’s letter. Reading the words, Zhou Yuan collapsed, overwhelmed, in front of the tombstone. Later, sitting in his yard, Zhou Yuan reflected on his life.

He finally understood that his years of unwavering persistence had been for a "foolish grudge," an erroneous obsession that had ruined An Yu's happiness, destroyed his own life, and caused pain to many innocent people. He was consumed by guilt, wondering how he could ever atone for his mistakes. Mi Lu gently approached him, covering him with a blanket, and reassured him that they would always be there for him, no matter what.

She shared that Yiyi had written an essay titled "My Happy Family," describing his mother as loving and his father as a superhero, aspiring to be like him when he grew up. Touched, Zhou Yuan promised to cook dinner for Mi Lu and Yiyi that night as a special reward.
