An Yu woke up to a message from Zhou Yuan, who was downstairs with Yiyi. They had breakfast together, and after Yiyi finished eating and went to play, An Yu asked Zhou Yuan if he remembered that it was her father's birthday three days prior. Zhou Yuan expressed shame, admitting he had failed to keep his promise to An Yu's father to take care of her for life, mentioning he had found their wedding video.

He vowed to make up for all his past failures in the future. An Yu listened without any visible reaction, simply watching Yiyi. Zhou Yuan remarked that Yiyi was growing quite fond of An Yu, attributing it to a "blood relation." Separately, Lin Zhanhong received a call informing him that the patent for the Smart Desk's electronic screen had been registered by Heyuan Tech, right after their contract was signed.

Recognizing the company name, Lin Zhanhong immediately knew He Shuo was behind it. An employee explained that legally, patent interference cases are complicated and would involve a lengthy court battle, which Zhuoyue Financial Group could not afford to waste time on. Lin Zhanhong declared he would find a solution for the patent issue and instructed his team to continue moving forward with the project as planned. Later, Zhou Yuan, An Yu, and Yiyi visited a Muay Thai gym.

Zhou Yuan noted Yiyi's enjoyment and reminisced about An Yu's own varied hobbies from the past, such as learning cello, cooking, jazz dance, and even carpentry. An Yu expressed surprise at his detailed memory. Zhou Yuan suggested that she would soon be able to return to her old life. He then brought up the 30% shares in Zhuoyue Financial Group that An Yu’s father had left her when he founded the company.

Zhou Yuan mentioned that these shares had a 20-year term, which was nearing its end, and advised her to expect calls from lawyers regarding them, implying she wouldn't need to work so hard with these shares. An Yu questioned his sudden concern for her life. A flashback revealed a prior conversation between An Yu and Lin Zhanhong, where Lin Zhanhong informed An Yu that these shares were her crucial "bargaining chips to defeat Zhou Yuan."

He also shared that he had a plan to help her reclaim everything she and her father had lost from Zhou Yuan, but it required her cooperation. Back in the present, An Yu simply thanked Zhou Yuan for his concern. Lin Zhanhong then met with He Shuo to discuss the patent issue. Lin Zhanhong's sole demand was a swift resolution to resume production. He Shuo named a high transfer fee, implying the amount was fair considering Zhuoyue's investment.

Lin Zhanhong agreed, but explained that Zhuoyue Financial Group currently lacked sufficient liquidity and proposed exchanging Zhuoyue shares of equal value instead. He Shuo expressed surprise at Lin Zhanhong's willingness to give up shares so easily, sensing a hidden motive. Lin Zhanhong confirmed his suspicions, revealing that he needed He Shuo to do him "another small favor" to seal the deal.

Later, in the car, Yiyi showed An Yu a gift from a new friend she made and then innocently asked if An Yu and Zhou Yuan were good friends. Zhou Yuan quickly interjected, explaining that he and An Yu were "more than good friends" and that Yiyi should treat An Yu "like a family member," promising that An Yu would always be there for her whenever she missed her.

After they made a pinkie promise, Zhou Yuan dropped An Yu off at her home. Meanwhile, Shao Moli was deep in thought, analyzing the tangled relationships. He found it difficult to understand why Zhou Yuan would go to such extreme lengths, abandoning his childhood sweetheart to marry and have a child with another woman, if he were merely after An Yu's family assets.

He was also puzzled by Mi Lu's willing participation in Zhou Yuan's elaborate scheme for so many years, given her own capabilities and career. His research on Zhuoyue Financial Group's founders led him to uncover the name "Xiao Feng," about whom little information was available. He immediately called Ye Kai and asked him to conduct a thorough background check on Xiao Feng. Lin Zhanhong summoned Jiang Haoran to his office, directly asking him what else he knew about Yimi Capital.

Jiang Haoran, suddenly humble, apologized for past work errors and insisted he knew "nothing else" about the company. Lin Zhanhong presented him with a resignation letter and a non-disclosure agreement, which stipulated a five-year ban from working for other financial companies and prohibited him from disclosing any information about Yimi Capital or Zhou Yuan. He gave Jiang Haoran a choice: sign the documents and know nothing, or provide another Yimi Capital proposal. Lin Zhanhong advised him to think carefully.

Later, Jiang Haoran called Xu Jingya, intending to ask for her help. That evening, while having dinner together, they were accosted by a man, an aggressive former date of Xu Jingya's, who hurled insults at her and Jiang Haoran. Jiang Haoran defended Xu Jingya, resulting in a physical altercation where he took a punch. Afterwards, Xu Jingya thanked him and revealed her decision to leave Yuqing and return to her hometown permanently.

Despite his clear reluctance to see her go, Jiang Haoran did not ask her for help with his predicament. He attempted to act indifferent, claiming he had never liked her, but they shared a sorrowful embrace before she departed. That night, Ye Kai delivered the requested information about Xiao Feng to Shao Moli. Ye Kai explained that Xiao Feng was one of the co-founders of Zhuoyue Financial Group, alongside An Wenbin and Lin Zhanhong, who were once close friends.

However, ideological differences led them to part ways: Lin Zhanhong remained with Zhuoyue, while Xiao Feng and An Wenbin each founded their own companies. Shao Moli expressed confusion as to why someone with such a promising start would commit suicide. Ye Kai revealed that Xiao Feng was a highly aggressive investor who lost heavily in two consecutive investments. He then "went insane," borrowing extensively from loan sharks and investing all his money, using triple leverage, into the stock market.

Ye Kai uncovered a critical detail: on the very day Xiao Feng died by suicide, An Yu’s father, An Wenbin, along with a group of creditors, had gone to Xiao Feng's home to demand repayment, with the events occurring almost simultaneously. Shao Moli inquired about Xiao Feng's family. Ye Kai confirmed that Xiao Feng was married and had a son, but his wife, who suffered from poor health, passed away shortly after Xiao Feng's suicide.

Despite extensive searches, including local orphanages, no information about their son could be found. Connecting Zhou Yuan's elusive past with the untraceable son, Shao Moli deduced that Zhou Yuan might be Xiao Feng's son, and his elaborate scheme was driven by a quest for revenge.

Noticing that Xiao Feng's suicide date was January 5th, which was in two days, Shao Moli immediately called Ding and instructed him to meticulously monitor Zhou Yuan's every move for the entire day on January 5th, specifically warning him not to harm Mi Lu. Later that night, Shao Moli found An Yu on the balcony and embraced her.

An Yu confessed that she wanted to participate in an amateur Muay Thai competition, explaining that she hoped to find courage for a very important decision she needed to make, just as her earlier Muay Thai training had helped her overcome stress during her probation period at Zhuoyue Financial Group. Shao Moli offered his full support and encouraged her.

At the competition, Shao Moli informed An Yu about the high caliber of amateur contestants and the need to win three matches to become champion, offering her a chance to withdraw, but An Yu firmly refused, stating she couldn't lose her spirit. There, they encountered Zhou Min, who greeted An Yu as her "An'an sister" and mentor, acknowledging that An Yu and Shao Moli had introduced her to Muay Thai.

Coincidentally, the first match was announced to be between An Yu and Zhou Min. Zhou Min told An Yu that the match held special significance for her and she would not go easy, to which An Yu responded in kind. An Yu ultimately won the match. Afterward, Zhou Min, despite a swollen face, praised An Yu's improved strength and form, saying she felt her power.

Zhou Min then confided that it was her father's birthday, and she had hoped to win to show him she had moved on from her past struggles, but she realized losing was acceptable as long as he knew she had tried her best. An Yu shared that she, too, was participating to find the courage for a crucial decision. Shortly after, Shao Moli received a call from Ding, informing him that Zhou Yuan had left his location. With important business to attend to, Shao Moli told An Yu to head home and rest, and An Yu departed.
