During Royal Entertainment's anniversary celebration, Cheng Feng was drugged by An Yin, leading to Mr. Wu attempting to sexually harass her. Mr. Wu confessed his admiration for Cheng Feng, expressing his desire to be with her. Feeling disoriented, Cheng Feng tried to leave, but Mr. Wu persisted. Zhou Yao intervened, presenting himself as a rescuer, telling Mr. Wu that Cheng Feng was his friend and unwell, then took her away.
As he drove her, Zhou Yao advised Cheng Feng to control her temper and listen to Baoling. Meanwhile, Jiang Dian received a call informing him that Cheng Feng had been taken by Zhou Yao. Jiang Dian immediately abandoned a critical experiment and rushed to Cheng Feng's location. Zhou Yao brought Cheng Feng back to the book cafe, where she had just received an IV drip. He insisted on carrying her, highlighting her weakness, but she declined, telling him to leave.
At that moment, Jiang Dian arrived and, seeing Zhou Yao still with Cheng Feng, grew enraged. He confronted Zhou Yao, warning him to stay away, and then physically assaulted him. Surveillance cameras captured the incident. When Cheng Feng woke up, she was concerned about Jiang Dian. Baoling informed her that Jiang Dian had been taken by the police because Zhou Yao reported him for assault.
Baoling added that, according to Pang Ting, Zhou Yao's injuries were severe enough for administrative detention, and the video evidence would make it difficult to clear Jiang Dian. Worried about Jiang Dian's well-being and emotional state, Cheng Feng insisted on going to the police station. There, Jiang Dian's mother angrily confronted Cheng Feng, attempting to slap her and blaming her for ruining Jiang Dian's life. Determined to save Jiang Dian, Cheng Feng met with Zhou Yao to negotiate.
She offered to choreograph for him if he dropped the charges, stating it was a one-time opportunity. Cheng Feng revealed she knew his injuries were not severe and that he was using this situation to force her to work with him and save his career. She bluntly told him he did not deserve her attention or care. Zhou Yao, despite his anger, concealed it. Jiang Dian’s mother, having secured his early release with a lawyer, met him outside the station.
She tried to poison his mind against Cheng Feng, claiming Cheng Feng was too busy choreographing for Zhou Yao to care about him, and urged him to come home. Jiang Dian, however, refused to return. Zhou Yao's performance with Cheng Feng's choreography impressed the company's owner, though Pang Ting subtly noted it was not as good as Lian Ruoshen's previous work. Jiang Dian arrived at Royal Entertainment, seething with anger, ready to confront Zhou Yao.
His friend, Lu Bie, tried to calm him, reminding him that Cheng Feng was doing this for his sake. Zhou Yao, noticing Jiang Dian, deliberately pulled Cheng Feng closer. Cheng Feng excused herself and firmly told Zhou Yao to release her. Jiang Dian again lunged at Zhou Yao, threatening to drag him to hell, but Cheng Feng quickly intervened, pulling Jiang Dian away. Jiang Dian blamed himself for Cheng Feng's forced interaction with Zhou Yao.
Cheng Feng reassured him that it was merely a temporary work arrangement, concluding with Zhou Yao's new song release, and asked him not to let it affect their relationship. Jiang Dian, however, inwardly vowed not to let Zhou Yao off the hook. Meanwhile, An Yin confronted Pang Ting, suspecting she was being cast aside. Pang Ting reassured her, claiming to have arranged her overseas travel and a significant sum of money.
An Yin, concerned about police investigations into the drugging incident, questioned Zhou Yao's timely rescue of Cheng Feng. Pang Ting denied any collusion and promised An Yin would not suffer in vain. Elsewhere, Jiang Dian received a call informing him that his physics project had been suspended. At the laboratory, his colleagues angrily chastised him for his four-day absence, which led to data errors, the project's suspension, Professor Chen's suspension, and a hefty compensation fine.
Jiang Dian apologized, taking responsibility, but recognized the damage was irreversible. Feeling distraught and guilty, Jiang Dian drank heavily and returned to the book cafe, seeking solace. Cheng Feng, finding him in this state, comforted him, promising to always be there. Separately, Lian Ruoshen confronted Zhou Yao about stealing his endorsement. Zhou Yao provoked Lian, calling him a "blockhead" with a bad reputation. Their argument escalated into a near physical fight, attracting the attention of the company owner.
Lian Ruoshen's defiant attitude towards the owner further damaged his career prospects. Later, Lian Ruoshen drowned his sorrows with Lu Bie, waking up believing he had been "slept with." Baoling, his agent, called him, found his location, and scolded him for jeopardizing his career further, as he was about to be "set aside" by the company. Lian Ruoshen apologized profusely, promising to control his temper, and Baoling, mollified, agreed to help him.
The police arrested and detained An Yin for drugging Cheng Feng. Cheng Feng visited An Yin in prison, but An Yin refused to reveal the true mastermind and remained unrepentant, vowing to always "watch" Cheng Feng. Back at the book cafe, Cheng Feng danced to relieve her stress. Jiang Dian, still struggling with his project issues, put on a brave face around Cheng Feng, though he secretly visited Professor Chen from a distance, burdened by guilt.
Pei Xiaoyun later informed Cheng Feng that Jiang Dian had not attended classes for days, making Cheng Feng realize the extent of his distress. She asked Pei Xiaoyun to request a leave of absence for Jiang Dian. Cheng Feng then secretly followed Jiang Dian, confirming his physics experiment was indeed in trouble. She brought him desserts, offering comfort and support.
The next day, Cheng Feng left a note for Jiang Dian, stating she had an urgent matter but would return soon. Jiang Dian, seeing the note, immediately suspected she had gone to meet Zhou Yao and became anxious. While choreographing for Zhou Yao, Cheng Feng received a picture of Jiang Dian with a 39-degree fever, which prompted her to rush back to him. However, Cheng Feng discovered Jiang Dian had faked his fever by taking a cold shower.
Recalling her psychology teacher's advice about his tendency for self-harm due to intense internal conflict, she empathized with him. She told him he could simply call her if he missed her or needed her, but implored him not to harm himself, and asked him to stop hiding things from her.
Soon after, Zhou Yao arrived at the book cafe, asking why Cheng Feng had not replied to his text about dance practice, and suspiciously suggested that "someone" might have deleted his message.
