As Shi Liansen prepared to leave, Liang Zhi confronted him, asserting that since he and Lin Lu had broken up, Shi Liansen should leave her alone.
Shi Liansen retorted that the decision to break up was his alone and that he liked to control others' lives, including Liang Zhi's. The following day, reporters swarmed Lin Lu, questioning her about her alleged breakup with Shi Liansen. Maggie quickly alerted Shi Liansen to the situation. Before Shi Liansen could reach Lin Lu, Liang Zhi intervened, stating that he grew up with Lin Lu and would not stand idly by while his friend was besieged by reporters.
He was then pressed by reporters about his relationship with Lin Lu and his feelings for her. He then made unreasonable demands, first for an apple, then an orange, complaining about its sourness and expressing confusion as to why Shi Liansen would like Lin Lu. He continued to play the victim, effectively manipulating Lin Lu into agreeing to stay and keep him company.
When Shi Liansen arrived, his father persisted with his feigned illness and lamentations, insisting that both Shi Liansen and Lin Lu remain. He then declared that due to Huanzhen's troubles, the three of them should unite, and informed them that "Love Beauty" magazine would shoot couple photos of Shi Liansen and Lin Lu that weekend. Lin Lu expressed that she felt it was improper, but Shi Liansen agreed to it.
After his father left, Lin Lu confronted Shi Liansen, questioning his agreement given their previous discussion about terminating their contract. He maintained that the contract was still valid and she was obligated to fulfill her duties for Huanzhen. When she asked if the contract would be terminated after the shoot, he simply reiterated that the photoshoot must be done. She relented, saying, "Whatever! Just a photo shoot!"
While Lin Lu was out, Liang Zhi offered to take her to see a movie, "The Avengers," and discussed a potential apartment for rent near a subway station. He offered to accompany her to view the apartment, despite her assurances that she could manage alone. Later, Shi Liansen was informed by someone that Lin Lu was not available because Liang Zhi had taken her to a movie, and that Lin Lu had been "lucky in love" recently.
Shi Liansen immediately instructed Maggie to contact the magazine and arrange for the photoshoot with Lin Lu to happen immediately, also telling Maggie to inform Liang Zhi to "Go see a movie." Consequently, Lin Lu received a call about the photoshoot, expressing surprise that it was scheduled for today instead of the weekend. She was told the director was only available now and had to leave abruptly.
Liang Zhi, understanding the situation, told the agent to find an apartment that met Lin Lu's needs and offered to cover any difference if the rent was cheaper. Before the photoshoot began, Lin Lu clearly stated to Shi Liansen that after this, they would go their separate ways, leaving the narrative of their breakup up to him.

They went to a mala hotpot restaurant. Lin Lu commented that she thought he disliked the place, to which he replied, "But you like here, right?" When she asked him to order for her, he insisted they had different tastes and she should order herself. However, when the owner came, Shi Liansen ordered the exact same dish as Lin Lu, adding that he would put his own seasonings as he wasn't used to heavy flavors.
While eating, Shi Liansen visibly struggled with the spiciness, sweating profusely and frequently needing water. He even tried to switch bowls with Lin Lu, who gently refused, eventually offering him water. Observing his discomfort, Lin Lu told him that he didn't have to go to such lengths. She expressed that she didn't know why he was doing it but asked him to stop, fearing it would only make it harder for her to move on.
She reminded him that their photoshoot was over, she had fulfilled her obligations, and they were from two different worlds and should live their own lives. He then asked if she was truly eager to push him away, to which she reaffirmed that they should return to their own lives. Shi Liansen's assistant later reported that the Sen-Lin CP pictures were very well received and had effectively countered the online rumors, causing Huanzhen's stock price to rise.
However, Shi Liansen instructed his assistant to contact media outlets close to them and publish news claiming that the Sen-Lin CP's breakup was real and that Huanzhen's credibility was questionable. His assistant questioned this decision, pointing out that it would again make Huanzhen the center of negative attention. Shi Liansen calmly stated that he intended to "kill two birds with one stone" by making Lin Lu feel guilty and confusing Sally.
Following this, Lin Lu was confronted about the contradictory news of her breakup with Shi Liansen after just taking couple photos. The person also mentioned the surge of negative comments about Huanzhen online, speculating that Sally was behind it, leading Lin Lu to feel guilty for causing more trouble. Meanwhile, Shi Liansen's father, who had escaped the hospital, met with Shi Liansen to offer unsolicited "secret dating tips."
He advised Shi Liansen not to be too proactive and to let women take the initiative, especially for "handsome and rich guys like us." Shi Liansen threatened to call the hospital, causing his father to leave, calling him a "piece of wood" before announcing he was going on vacation.
