Zhan Bi felt intense guilt towards Ning Yi and his mother, so he would certainly not let the Prince of Yan have his way. Thus, he committed suicide; this was the only thing Zhan Bi could do to help Ning Yi. But Zhan Bi did not know that all of this was within the Prince of Yan's plan.

In the imperial court, Helian Zheng made a big fuss with the Emperor Tiansheng over this matter, but Emperor Tiansheng merely instructed Ning Yi to properly arrange Zhan Bi's funeral. Afterwards, Ning Yi asked about the reason Zhan Bi killed the Prince of Yan's attendant. The Prince of Yan stepped forward, claiming it concerned internal royal family matters, and asked Helian Zheng to withdraw.

Feng Zhiwei also claimed that she was quite exhausted today and asked Emperor Tiansheng to bestow tea upon the ministers. Feng Zhiwei then brought the tea and gave it to Ning Yi, the Prince of Yan, Chancellor Yao, and a few others to drink. The tea for the rest was served by eunuchs.

The Prince of Yan then claimed that everything Zhan Bi did was to keep a secret: he wanted to conceal the father-son relationship between himself and Prince Chu Ning Yi! The ministers immediately started discussing amongst themselves, and Ning Yi was even more flustered. The Prince of Yan continued, stating that after Sunset Clan men came of age, crimson flame patterns would appear on their skin.

Ning Yi was forced to undress in front of everyone, and the crimson flame pattern was clearly visible on his arm. Emperor Tiansheng was furious and ordered Gu Yan to go to the Ministry of Justice to verify the patterns on Zhan Bi's hand. The answer was affirmative, and the atmosphere in the imperial court suddenly changed.

Feng Zhiwei then rolled up her sleeve, stating that she also had the same patterns on her arm, as did Chancellor Yao and Minister Peng. Ning Yi stood up and rolled up the Prince of Yan's sleeve; he also had them. Emperor Tiansheng had no choice but to ask Ning Yi, the Prince of Yan, Ning Qi, and Feng Zhiwei to have an audience later.

Meanwhile, Consort Chang was wearing a veil and glanced at the note Ning Yi had given her; it was a threat. At this moment, Ning Qi, the Prince of Yan, and Feng Zhiwei were already waiting in the hall. Ning Yi was about to enter but was called by Consort Chang. Consort Chang had barely said a few harsh words before Ning Yi choked her up.

Ning Yi entered the hall and whispered to the Prince of Yan, implying he remembered everything he had done. When Emperor Tiansheng arrived, Ning Yi again put on a weeping face, begging Emperor Tiansheng to clear his name, claiming that the Prince of Yan had calculated that his hangover soup would be tampered with, and also calculated that Zhan Bi would commit suicide.

The Prince of Yan frantically sought Feng Zhiwei to prove his innocence, then casually accused her, claiming all the tea in the great hall today came from her hands. Feng Zhiwei also stated that she knew nothing. Emperor Tiansheng pondered and concluded that the Prince of Yan had framed Ning Yi. Consort Chang requested an audience outside the hall. After she removed her veil, crimson flame patterns were surprisingly also on her forehead.

Consort Chang claimed she had mistakenly consumed ingredients, which led to such a grave error. Emperor Tiansheng agreed, also instructing Feng Zhiwei to learn court affairs from Chancellor Yao, and ordered the Prince of Yan to reflect upon himself behind closed doors.

Emperor Tiansheng had intended to keep Ning Yi, but he, feeling wronged, tearfully insisted on returning to his residence quickly to remove the patterns. Shaoning had been waiting outside the hall. She hadn't expected Ning Yi to escape even with such irrefutable evidence. The Prince of Yan ignored her and turned to leave. Only Ning Qi was willing to offer Shaoning a word of comfort.

Ning Yi questioned Feng Zhiwei for daring to give him poisoned soup, yet there was no trace of anger on his face. Helian Zheng then walked out, saying he definitely needed an explanation from Ning Yi, to which Ning Yi agreed. Afterwards, Helian Zheng asked Ning Yi to tell him the marriage customs of Tiansheng. He had taken a liking to Qiu Shangqi's niece, Feng Zhiwei, and wanted to ask Emperor Tiansheng to bestow her upon him as a concubine.

Ning Yi's expression changed, and Feng Zhiwei behind him even choked audibly. Ning Yi scoffed at him, but Helian Zheng not only didn't understand but also misinterpreted it, mocking Tiansheng men and women, and even saying that Feng Zhiwei would be proud to marry him. Feng Zhiwei tried to sneak away at this moment but was called back by Ning Yi and Helian Zheng. Helian Zheng seemed to recognize her and intended to test her.

It turned out that Helian Zheng harbored resentment about Feng Zhiwei attacking him that day and was determined to marry her to severely torment her, making her wash his feet, massage his legs, and also planning to marry ten wives to serve him one by one. Helian Zheng replied that he wanted her to guess an object, and if she lost, he would marry her and take her back to Jinshi as a concubine. Qiu Yuluo, with an excited face, wanted to see the object, but Helian Zheng provoked her, and Qiu Yuluo, feeling challenged, naturally wanted to try.

Qiu Yuluo scooped some from it and put it in her mouth; the holy relic was actually salt. Feng Zhiwei was indignant seeing this scene. Then Helian Zheng started testing Feng Zhiwei again.
