> The Blood of Youth Recap

Dressed in a green robe, Xiao Se rode straight to Tianqi’s gates, reined in his horse, with Lei Wujie and Ye Ruoyi close behind. Everyone was present—except senior brother Tang Lian. Within a day, news had spread throughout Tianqi that the current Prince Yong'an, formerly the sixth prince Xiao Chuhe who once dominated Tianqi, had returned. Lord Chi, Xiao Yu, was displeased, while Lord Bai, Xiao Chong, expressed willingness to compete for the crown fairly.

Xiao Se led everyone to a manor named after Snowfall Villa, where they met the old steward, Uncle Xu. Xiao Yueli personally came to speak with Xiao Se. In a brief exchange, he revealed that the little physician fairy Hua Jin was in Tianqi treating Ming Dedi. Upon hearing that Xiao Se had met an immortal on Penglai Island, Hua Jin was overjoyed and expressed a desire to become that immortal’s disciple if given the chance.

A full day had passed since Xiao Se and the others entered Tianqi, and invitations to Snowfall Villa were arriving like falling snowflakes—but all were intercepted by Uncle Xu. Clearly, they were still waiting for the senior brother to return. That night, however, devastating news arrived from Xueyue City’s intelligence web—Tang Lian had died. The three present could not accept the truth, with Lei Wujie especially heartbroken. At Tang Clan, Tang Lianyue set up a memorial hall.

Sikong Changfeng arrived to pay his respects, bringing Tang Lian’s favorite wine, hoping he would never forget the taste of romance and adventure, no matter how far he had gone. Sikong Qianluo sat at the door in tears, mourning her senior brother. Xiao Se was just as grieved and swore to avenge him.

Because of this, Xiao Se met privately with Ye Ruoyi and decided to host a grand banquet in Tianqi City, inviting all the powerful figures—not only to intimidate and announce their presence but to lure out hidden enemies. Ye Ruoyi offered to act as Xiao Se’s strategist and personally drafted the guest list—comprising royals, nobles, high officials, military generals, and wealthy merchants.

The royals represented the Xiao royal family; the nobles stood for the great clans; the generals backed the Northern Li military; and the merchants controlled Tianqi’s economy. As for the banquet’s venue, Xiao Se went against convention and chose Tianqi’s largest casino—Qianjin Terrace. He took Lei Wujie and Sikong Qianluo to the casino and explained his intention. After a moment of thought, the owner, Master Tu, agreed to host the imperial banquet there.

In a short time, news of Xiao Chuhe hosting a banquet at Qianjin Terrace spread across Tianqi—not under the name of Prince Yong'an, but simply as "Xiao Se. " Those without invitations felt regret, knowing they didn’t hold enough weight in his eyes, while those with invitations were uneasy—Xiao Chong and Xiao Yu naturally would not attend, and everyone began calculating their alliances.

State Preceptor Qi Tianchen predicted a bloodbath at the banquet but still sent a modest gift to Prince Yong'an’s manor. Ye Ruoyi and others knew that more than half of the invited guests wouldn’t show up. Yet Ye Xiaoying was unfazed, his only concern being the absence of one crucial name on the list—someone of great importance to Xiao Se. The next afternoon, Qianjin Terrace was set with fine nanmu wood tables, with attendants bustling about.

The banquet was set to last from dusk till midnight. For years, no one in Tianqi dared host such a grand imperial feast. Yet with both sides lined up to welcome guests, none arrived—until Jiudaotong, head steward of Destiny Pavilion, appeared with disciples of the Three Gates and Nineteen Houses. Though part of a fringe alliance in Tianqi, the Three Gates and Nineteen Houses had wide influence across industries.

Previously, Xiao Yu had tried to win them over to no avail, assuming they had joined Xiao Chong, but they were actually loyal to the sixth prince. Back then, Jiudaotong was a lowborn servant subjected to humiliation—until he gained the favor of Xiao Chuhe, earning his lifelong loyalty. Still, Jiudaotong’s appearance wasn’t necessarily a bad thing for Xiao Chong and Xiao Yu.

While it showed Xiao Se’s ability to befriend street-level forces, if these were the only allies he could muster, his prestige would surely suffer. Just as everyone awaited the next guest, Mu Chunfeng grandly entered Tianqi. Though he hadn’t arrived at Qianjin Terrace yet, his reputation preceded him, further strengthening Xiao Se’s presence.
