At the moment of life and death, Xiao Se remembered the cultivation technique gifted by the Confucian Sword Immortal and transferred his internal energy to Lei Wujie and Sikong Qianluo. The two joined forces against Mu Ying, with Lei Wujie even unleashing the eighth level of Fireburn Technique. Mu Ying grew fearful and fled in panic, while Xiao Se collapsed to the ground. Sikong Qianluo tried to fire the Qiancheng Token to summon allies.

Xiao Se sensed danger, fearing that enemies might arrive before help. Fortunately, Luo Mingxuan appeared with disciples from Sword Heart Tomb. At Jianxin Pavilion, Lei Wujie reunited with his grandfather, Lord Li Su. Overjoyed, Li Su decided to gift him a better sword. Hua Jin of Medicine King Valley personally treated Xiao Se’s injuries, but found no external wounds—only a disorderly pulse, a rare condition. Tang Lian and Ye Ruoyi fled from their clan’s pursuit.

Ye Ruoyi, physically weak, couldn’t endure much longer. Just then, Wu Xin descended from the sky, shielding her from hidden weapons and pulling both Tang Lian and Ye Ruoyi away into the shadows. Lord Li Su introduced Lei Wujie to the ten famed swords of the world and showcased the “Xin” sword, ranked fourth, among the heirlooms of Sword Heart Tomb. This sword had a slender, nearly transparent blade and was named with a single character.

It could resonate with the wielder's heart. Lei Wujie's mother once wielded it, but later fell in love with Lei Mengsha and wandered the martial world. Every time Li Su mentioned this, he would pound his chest in regret. Though Lei Wujie tried many times to draw the sword, it gave no response. Li Su explained that he needed to connect with it through his heart. So Lei Wujie closed his eyes and meditated.

Suddenly, he saw a vision of his mother, Li Xinyue, and was moved to tears. Li Xinyue enlightened him that the true meaning of wielding a sword was to protect. Deeply inspired, the illusion faded, and Lei Wujie connected with the sword’s heart. Seeing Lei Wujie master the Xin sword so quickly, Li Su was overjoyed and introduced the remaining three famous swords.

However, the number one sword, Tianzhan, had no image—because it was a divine sword left by the founding emperor, only for one chosen by fate. It hadn’t appeared for centuries and was enshrined in the Astronomical Observatory, guarded by the Imperial Astrologer. The next morning, sunlight streamed into the room as Xiao Se slowly woke up to find Sikong Qianluo leaning on his bedside. He felt a warmth in his heart.

Sikong Qianluo, seeing Xiao Se had improved, was greatly relieved and personally fed him medicine with great care. Hua Jin told Lord Li Su about Xiao Se’s condition, hoping to cure him, while lamenting that her senior brother Sikong Changfeng was too indecisive. If he had focused on medicine, his skills might have surpassed even their master.

Hua Jin revealed her identity to Xiao Se and, upon seeing the rare book gifted by the Confucian Sword Immortal, finally understood the cause of his disorderly pulse. Lord Li Su came to see Xiao Se alone, curious about his thoughts on the Dark River’s pursuit. Xiao Se believed they weren’t after him specifically but suspected a deeper conspiracy—possibly linked to the Lei family stronghold. The priority now was to reach it quickly.

That night, Lord Li Su faced Su Changli and Mu Ying alone. But after just one exchange, Lei Wujie and others appeared. Lei Wujie drew the Xin sword to duel Su Changli and unexpectedly defeated him with ease. Su Changli self-destructed before their eyes. Always pure-hearted and kind, Lei Wujie never intended to kill.

But Xiao Se knew this sword strike had been tampered with by Lord Li Su, who did it to add a lethal edge to Lei Wujie’s gentlemanly sword—for surviving the martial world requires more than just victory. Xiao Se thanked Lord Li Su for saving his life. Lord Li Su, seeing through his origins, revealed that his own daughter had died four years ago, and now his only wish was to protect Lei Wujie and help him live well.

After bidding farewell to Lord Li Su, Xiao Se and Sikong Qianluo caught up with Lei Wujie. Seeing his desolate expression, they realized he still had a long way to go to mature. Xiao Se comforted him, saying one must face the truth bravely. The martial world is like a mirror—only through it can one see into their own heart.
