The Blood of Youth Episode 11 Recap
> The Blood of Youth Recap
At the annual Hundred Flowers Festival, disciples from all major sects of the martial world gather. The area is adorned with vibrant blossoms, elegant music plays, and the fragrance of flowers fills the air. Usually nonchalant, Xiao Se reveals a rare smile in such an atmosphere. Xiao Se notices that Duan Xuanyi, the young master of the Duan family from Jiangnan, is present.
It turns out Duan Xuanheng, the younger son of the Duan family, entered Xueyue City to study martial arts two years ago, and Duan Xuanyi is accompanying his brother to the festival. Sikong Changfeng and the scholar-swordsman Xie Xuan share fine wine at a private table on the second floor.
Xie Xuan remarks that the Hundred Flowers Festival is a rare spectacle, but laments that despite thousands of scholars and walls full of poetry, there's beauty in the scene yet no beauties among the people. Just then, Ye Ruoyi arrives, her stunning appearance drawing all eyes. Through Sikong Changfeng, Xie Xuan learns that she is Qi Tianchen’s disciple. The two Duan brothers, full of self-regard, prepare to approach Ye Ruoyi.
Tang Lian, displeased, intends to intervene but underestimates the Duan family’s Hidden Water Technique, ending up slightly embarrassed. Duan Xuanyi notices the eye-catching Tang Lian and Xiao Se nearby and, recalling Tang Lian's famous name, challenges him to a contest of Fairy Rui’s Blossom Dance. As he speaks, wine gathers in the air, transforming into countless flying needles targeting Tang Lian. Lei Wujie descends from the sky, attempting a heroic rescue.
However, he fails to control his sword energy, putting even the Duan brothers in danger. At the critical moment, Ye Ruoyi steps into the sea of flowers, fearless in the face of the surging sword aura. She gently takes Lei Wujie’s hand and guides his movements. Indeed, within moments, the killing aura becomes gentle and warm. Blossoms flutter, swords dance gracefully. Sikong Changfeng instantly recognizes this as the Ruoyi Sword Dance.
The Ruoyi Sword Dance was created by the Ye family general on the battlefield and is divided into two parts: the upper section, “Cloud Gate,” flows like drifting clouds and casual strolls; the lower section, “Killing Formation,” exudes a murderous aura audible from miles away. Just as Xie Xuan laments the lack of music to accompany the dance, the sound of a zither begins. Xiao Se plays with a calm expression, harmonizing perfectly with the dancers.
Enthralled, Xie Xuan leaps from the pavilion to join in, playing his flute in accompaniment. With Xiao Se on zither, Xie Xuan on flute, Ye Ruoyi dancing, and Lei Wujie aiding with his sword dance, Tang Lian, watching from the side, is deeply moved. He sings loudly, inspired by the grandeur in Wu Xin’s poetry. As the performance ends, Xie Xuan senses an old acquaintance approaching and hurriedly packs to leave.
Before departing, he gifts ancient texts to Xiao Se and the others, believing they will need them someday. By the time Li Hanyi arrives at the festival, Xie Xuan has long vanished. She praises Lei Wujie’s improved swordsmanship but scolds him for leaving the mountain without permission. As they head back under the midnight moon, master and disciple walk side by side in rare harmony. Ignoring Lei Wujie’s rambling, Li Hanyi asks if he likes Ye Ruoyi.
Lei Wujie readily admits it, claiming it was love at first sight. “Love at first sight” is merely infatuation with beauty, Li Hanyi thinks of Zhao Yuzhen and orders Lei Wujie to focus on sword training—he is to formally duel her in two months and become a Sword Immortal within three years. Xiao Se receives a handwritten book from Xie Xuan. With a few words, he grasps its profound meaning—true energy circulates and all techniques align.
Though he could recover most of his strength in three years by cultivating with this method, there's a catch: the circulation technique could also temporarily restore him to peak power, but doing so would nullify all progress and severely endanger his life. In the Council Hall of Wushuang City, Song Yanhui sits at the head seat, aware that the five elders have come with ill intent. The Grand Elder announces that Ye Songtao is to succeed as City Lord.
However, Ye Songtao is inferior to Song Yanhui in both martial arts and character; he is chosen simply because he’s easier to control. Song Yanhui had recommended Wu Shuang due to her exceptional sword skills, which intimidated the elders and earned her the city lord position. As the splendor fades and summer breeze brushes by, Lei Wujie visits Li Hanyi as agreed for a sword match.
He barely blocks her first move, “Moonset and Blossoms,” but realizes the next two will be even tougher. Summoning his Killing Fear Sword with a call, he continues. Sikong Changfeng, Xiao Se, and Tang Lian rush to watch the excitement. Spotting a flash of the Killing Fear Sword, Sikong marvels that Lei Wujie has reached the Free Ground realm. Lei Wujie wields the Listening Rain Sword in his right and the Killing Fear Sword in his left, an unmatched presence.
His sword technique is called “Paper, Cloud, Smoke. ” Li Hanyi responds with a new move, thundering with a blast completely different from the poetic “Moonset and Blossoms. ” After the duels, Lei Wujie is left in tears. When Sikong Changfeng, Tang Lian, and Xiao Se arrive at the summit, they witness a heartwarming reunion between siblings. Tang Lian, confused, asks Sikong Changfeng for details.
He learns that Li Hanyi's parents were Lei Mengsha, one of the Four Greats of the Lei Clan, and Li Xinyue, heir to the Sword Tomb. Twenty years ago, Lei Mengsha and Li Xinyue fought alongside the current emperor in the assault on the Pingqing Hall. Lei Mengsha was later named one of the Eight Pillars and sent to battle in the South.
After Lei Mengsha died in battle, Li Xinyue and three other martial artists who refused official positions were appointed as the Four Guardians of Tianqi in honorary roles. Li Xinyue, known as the Azure Dragon of the East, was dedicated to protecting the capital until the shocking rebellion case of Lord Langya. Lord Langya, a national hero, was doomed because Emperor Mingde wanted him dead and needed a pretext. When Mingde carried out the execution, Li Xinyue suddenly appeared on the execution ground.
