Sweet Tai Chi Episode 11 Recap
> Sweet Tai Chi Recap
Piaopiao, no longer constrained by the pretense of being a lady, immediately pushed aside the stack of documents Aijia had given her for the upcoming painting exhibition. She publicly denounced Jin Rou's underhanded tactics, a display of assertiveness that even Wei Chu, secretly listening from outside the classroom, approved of. However, after the other students left, Piaopiao, practicing her drawing alone, still showed signs of severe self-doubt.
Observing this, Wei Chu gently held her hand, guiding her brush strokes and instructing her to infuse the internal strength of Tai Chi into her artwork. He reminded her that her years of martial arts training meant this inner strength lay dormant within her, waiting to be awakened and channeled into her painting, helping her recapture a particular feeling from a past practice. Under his tutelage, Piaopiao's painting surprisingly bore a strong resemblance to her grandfather's, greatly easing her anxieties.
At the art exhibition, Piaopiao concentrated intently as she painted in public, applying the techniques Wei Chu had taught her. Unexpectedly, her painting table, whose leg had been deliberately weakened by Aijia beforehand, suddenly collapsed, spilling ink everywhere and ruining her artwork. Aijia, reveling in the misfortune, suggested Piaopiao couldn't truly paint and was merely seeking sympathy. Jin Rou, feigning concern, added that with the ink spilled, Piaopiao surely couldn't continue.
Mr. Kong, however, encouraged Piaopiao, reminding her that confidence stemmed from and strengthened her ability, and giving up now would guarantee failure. Though Xiao Xiao offered to get a new table, Piaopiao, inspired by Wei Chu's encouraging gaze, declined. She declared her intent to continue, kneeling on the floor to cleverly incorporate the ink stain into a profound Tai Chi diagram. Her artistic skill earned universal acclaim from the teachers and students present, securing her place in the school.
Overcome with emotion, Piaopiao sincerely apologized to everyone. She then expressed deep gratitude to Wei Chu for his unwavering encouragement and support, admitting that she had been unhappy hiding behind the "lady" title, constantly fearing exposure of her true self. She concluded by promising to prove her capabilities through her own strength, beyond any title, if allowed to remain at the school. As the crowd applauded, Piaopiao smiled at Wei Chu.
To celebrate her success at the exhibition, Wei Chu offered to take Piaopiao out, but she insisted on treating him instead. She led him to a lively hotpot restaurant, a place she frequented after her boxing matches, describing the food as "delicious to explode." She excitedly explained her method of dumping all the ingredients into the pot at once, finding it more thrilling not knowing what she'd scoop up next.
Wei Chu, however, was concerned about the high calorie count, estimating one pot to be at least two thousand calories, and presented her with a plate of fruit for balanced nutrition. Piaopiao, however, remained determined to eat the meat. Later, while Piaopiao was doing sit-ups, Wei Chu praised her recent progress, then asked what she truly thought of him. Piaopiao playfully called him a "devil," prompting Wei Chu to jokingly wonder if he was truly that terrible.
Yueshanxun later approached Piaopiao and Xiao Xiao, congratulating Piaopiao on her impressive exhibition performance, which he found "shocking." Piaopiao humbly attributed her resolve to the circumstances. Yueshanxun then requested their help in selecting a unique Chinese-themed gift for his friends in Japan. Xiao Xiao suggested Hanfu, and they set off for a Hanfu shop. There, Yueshanxun initially chose a beautiful dress, which Xiao Xiao mistook for Piaopiao, only for him to clarify it was for a male friend.
Xiao Xiao then convinced Piaopiao to try on an outfit, and they enjoyed themselves, taking many photos. Later, while tidying Wei Chu's home, Piaopiao discovered a repaired coat—the one she had accidentally burned. Wei Chu casually mentioned he had mended it with embroidery, a skill passed down from his grandmother, whose embroidered pieces had once fetched hundreds of thousands at auction. Piaopiao, impressed, jokingly asked if there was anything he couldn't do.
Soon after, Chen Bing and Yang Ningxue arrived to congratulate Piaopiao. Chen Bing admired the embroidered coat, and Wei Chu, with a hint of generosity, gifted it to him, saying he could always embroider another. The following day, Xiao Xiao excitedly shared the photos from their Hanfu outing with Piaopiao. As they playfully bickered over the pictures, they accidentally bumped into Wei Chu, who was leading a campus tour for guests.
Wei Chu picked up a photo of Piaopiao and Yueshanxun happily posing together, a brief flicker of unease crossing his face. He returned the photo to Piaopiao, sternly reminding them that "horseplay is forbidden on campus," before continuing his tour. Later, Piaopiao discovered a collection of manga books at Wei Chu's house, playfully accusing him of secretly hoarding them while making her read serious texts.
Wei Chu admitted he had bought them specifically for her, hinting that he hoped it would encourage her to stay with him longer. Piaopiao, momentarily flustered, quickly changed the subject and then found a photo that revealed Aijia's deliberate act of damaging her painting table. Armed with this evidence, Piaopiao confronted Aijia and Jin Rou. Aijia vehemently denied it, claiming the photo was fake and desperately trying to get Jin Rou to corroborate her story.
Jin Rou, however, publicly distanced herself, leading Aijia to erupt in anger. Aijia exposed Jin Rou's manipulative scheme, revealing that Jin Rou had threatened her with expulsion if she didn't sabotage Piaopiao's painting. A distraught Aijia lamented having done so many wrong things for Jin Rou's sake, only to be abandoned. Just then, Mr. Kong and Wei Chu entered.
Mr. Kong sternly reprimanded Aijia and Jin Rou, emphasizing that while a damaged painting could be replaced, broken friendships were far more difficult to mend. He urged them to reflect on the true value of camaraderie. Jin Rou angrily stormed out. Piaopiao felt a sense of relief that the matter was finally concluded. Wei Chu, in a rare gesture, told Piaopiao she had a day off, though she remained skeptical of his intentions.
Doctor Chen, having examined Wei Chu, reported that his internal power had recovered by roughly eighty percent, and with another six months of careful recuperation, he would regain full control. However, the doctor issued a strict warning: Wei Chu must avoid any physical altercations during this period, or all his progress would be lost. Wei Chu assured Doctor Chen that he would heed the advice. Meanwhile, Chen Bing and Bai Haiyang were training.
Chen Bing wondered why Xiao Xiao hadn't brought food yet. Just then, Xiao Xiao arrived, not with food, but with medicinal herbs. She explained that she brought them thinking they might be useful for injuries often sustained during martial arts practice. Bai Haiyang initially resisted, but Xiao Xiao insisted the herbs were a gift to her that she couldn't use, so they should benefit the Tai Chi system.
Bai Haiyang, finding her logic sound, accepted them on behalf of the Tai Chi system. Xiao Xiao then openly expressed her admiration for Bai Haiyang's Tai Chi movements, likening them to scenes from Wuxia novels. Bai Haiyang gently corrected her romanticized notions but extended an invitation to the Tai Chi system if she was genuinely interested. Wei Chu, preparing for a trip, had Bai Haiyang fetch two fishing rods.
Bai Haiyang, seeing through Wei Chu's intentions to treat Piaopiao after the exhibition, directly asked if he had feelings for her. Wei Chu denied it, dismissing Bai Haiyang's concerns and instructing him to focus on the Tai Chi system instead. Bai Haiyang playfully accused him of "burning the bridge after crossing it" and urged him to confront his true emotions. Wei Chu and Piaopiao then embarked on their outing.
Piaopiao jokingly speculated that Wei Chu might be leading her to a remote mountain for sinister purposes, but Wei Chu teased her about her overactive imagination and lack of assets worth targeting. Piaopiao complained about their constant bickering, to which Wei Chu admitted it might be enjoyable. As they walked a considerable distance, Wei Chu called it part of her "cultivation," much to Piaopiao's annoyance.
He finally revealed they were going fishing, to Piaopiao's great relief, who swore she would "never finish with him" if it had been another training session. As they continued, Wei Chu commented that Piaopiao's arms appeared to have gotten "thicker."
