Sweet Sweet Episode 18 Recap
> Sweet Sweet Recap
The previous night's King's Game concluded with Su Mu and Li Di engaged in a push-up challenge. Afterward, Wang Yanyi pulled Li Di aside to reveal his plan: he intended to confess his feelings to Ding Xiaoyu and needed Li Di to distract Tian Tiande by taking her away. Wang Yanyi instructed Li Di to set off fireworks as soon as he heard a "Pa!"
Believing Wang Yanyi was genuinely serious this time, Li Di suggested to Tian Tiande that they go buy drinks, a ruse to lead her away. On their walk, Li Di informed Tian Tiande about Wang Yanyi's upcoming confession to Ding Xiaoyu. Back at the camp, Wang Yanyi began his heartfelt confession to Ding Xiaoyu, but Tian Tiande found it overly sentimental and excused herself, heading to the bathroom. There, she unexpectedly encountered Su Mu, who was sitting alone.
Su Mu initially thought she had come to find him. An argument quickly ensued, with Tian Tiande accusing Su Mu of being "muggy" all day and "inexplicable" with Hui Zi, particularly angered that he had given Hui Zi a portion of the ice cream she had specially made for him. Su Mu retorted, questioning her own "inexplicable" closeness with Li Di and asserting his friendship with Li Di was simply that of "good brothers."
He reaffirmed his stance, stating he wouldn't give his special ice cream to others or make it for just anyone. In the heat of their exchange, Su Mu suddenly pulled Tian Tiande into an embrace and kissed her. As Wang Yanyi leaned in to kiss Ding Xiaoyu after his confession, she firmly slapped him across the face. Li Di, who was remotely monitoring the situation, heard the distinct "Pa!"
sound and, mistaking it for Wang Yanyi's signal, immediately ignited the fireworks. The dazzling display illuminated the beach. Su Mu then tenderly confessed to Tian Tiande, stating that while he once thought he couldn't live without ice cream, he now knew he couldn't live without her. He asked her to be his girlfriend, and they kissed again amidst the fireworks.
Li Di, proud of his "perfect timing," approached Wang Yanyi, only to find him embarrassed and sarcastic about the outcome of his confession. Wang Yanyi conceded that Ding Xiaoyu was "definitely different." Later, Su Mu and Tian Tiande returned to the camp together, their newfound closeness evident. Li Di questioned them about their activities, and Tian Tiande simply stated she watched the fireworks. Wang Yanyi, trying to save face, claimed he set them off "to create the atmosphere for everyone."
That night, despite the failed confession, Wang Yanyi softly wished Ding Xiaoyu goodnight from his tent. The next morning, Su Mu and Tian Tiande exchanged good mornings, and Li Di's arrival. Li Di recounted his mosquito-ridden night, which prompted Wang Yanyi to describe a dream about an "uncle talking nonsense all night," a veiled reference to Li Di's incessant swatting. Li Di feigned ignorance, but felt a bit guilty. The group then decided to pack up and head home.
On their way, Su Mu and Tian Tiande walked hand-in-hand. Tian Tiande admitted she was still adjusting to having a boyfriend, so Su Mu suggested they go on a date that day to help her "get used to it." As they reached Tian Tiande's doorstep, they encountered her mother. Tian Tiande instinctively let go of Su Mu's hand, but he immediately took it back. Inside, Tian Tiande's mother interrogated her about the previous night.
Tian Tiande confessed that she and Su Mu "seem to be together," which her mother found unbelievable, questioning how Su Mu, being so exceptional, could be interested in her. Tian Tiande defended herself, saying she wasn't "bad either." Upon hearing about their date, her mother gave Tian Tiande several strict instructions: to observe Su Mu's generosity, whether he took other calls during their date, and if he tried to lead her to secluded places to take advantage of her.
Tian Tiande promised to be careful, while her father criticized his wife for being overly worried, emphasizing the importance of letting their daughter experience love freely. Meanwhile, at Su Mu's home, his mother and sister, Mi Ya, were astonished when Su Mu, beaming, announced he couldn't take his mother to the airport for her meteorological conference because he had a date.
Tian Tiande, preparing for the date, applied makeup under her mother's watchful eye, who advised her that a man who truly loved her would cherish her natural beauty. Su Mu arrived in a convertible to pick up Tian Tiande, surprising her as he usually rode a bicycle. He explained he had bought the car with a scholarship but had never used it, and she was the first, and last, girl to ride in it.
As he leaned in to fasten her seatbelt, Tian Tiande, mistaking his intention, puckered her lips, but Su Mu simply secured the belt before playfully kissing her. They headed to the cinema to watch a horror film. Following Wang Yanyi's advice that girls like to watch horror movies alone, Su Mu had booked the entire theater.
However, the roles were reversed: Tian Tiande watched with excitement, while Su Mu was terrified, jumping, shouting, and even spilling popcorn in fright, attempting to comfort himself by saying "don't be scared." At the same time, Tian Tiande's parents continued their discussion. Her mother remained convinced Tian Tiande could be deceived and planned to visit Su Mu's mother to gauge his family's values and confirm he had acknowledged Tian Tiande to them.
Her father, however, warned her against approaching such a sensitive matter with so many "purposes and interests," causing her to angrily storm off. Tian Tiande's mother then practiced various excuses for her visit, such as "just came over to chat casually" or "my daughter is missing," before arriving at Su Mu's house, only to find no one home. After the movie, Tian Tiande playfully teased Su Mu about his fear.
She suggested they go to the arcade, confident in her gaming skills. When she struggled against a younger student, Su Mu took over and easily defeated him, impressing Tian Tiande with his unexpected talent. Su Mu then suggested they go grocery shopping, as he planned to cook dinner for her. However, while Tian Tiande was buying milk tea, Su Mu received an urgent call from his company, cutting their date short.
Su Mu dropped Tian Tiande at her shop and returned to the company. Meanwhile, Wang Yanyi was talking to Li Di, reflecting on his failed confession to Ding Xiaoyu but emphasizing that he genuinely liked her and she was "definitely different." Li Di advised him not to be anxious and wait for a good opportunity, but Wang Yanyi felt it would be "too late." Soon after, Wang Yanyi also received a call and headed to the company.
At the company, Hui Zi informed Su Mu and Wang Yanyi about a serious issue: several Japanese companies were boycotting their aircraft, citing safety concerns. She warned that sending the aircraft for evaluation could lead to the theft of their core technology, emphasizing the need for a detailed explanation. Su Mu, eager to return to Tian Tiande, confidently declared he would prepare a new explanation within half an hour.
Meanwhile, Tian Tiande, still at the ice cream shop, enthusiastically told Tang Mumu that she and Su Mu were "officially together." Her colleagues, however, were discussing Su Mu's recent strange behavior, noting he had been smirking at his computer. They then showed photos circulating a few days prior, featuring Su Mu with Hui Zi, his rumored girlfriend and a new shareholder, suggesting they were a "good match." Annoyed by the gossip, Tian Tiande boldly declared, "I'm Su Mu's girlfriend!"
Her colleagues scoffed in disbelief, claiming everyone dreamt of being Su Mu's girlfriend and insisting that Su Mu and Hui Zi were the true couple. As Tian Tiande grew frustrated and struggled to articulate her anger, Su Mu suddenly appeared.
