Qin Donghai's phone remained unreachable, causing concern for Hua Mingyue and Chen Jingran. Gao Ren then discovered a news report about a Chinese man, identified by a distinctive glue drop pendant Hua Mingyue had made for him, being captured by a gang abroad. Overcome with worry, Hua Mingyue insisted on going to find him herself. Chen Jingran intervened, urging her to stay calm and reminding her that her departure would jeopardize all their efforts to save Flora Group.

He suggested that Gao Ren, with his international rescue certificate, was better equipped to lead the search, and Chen Jingran offered to provide his international connections to assist Gao Ren. Chen Jingran reassured Hua Mingyue that Qin Donghai would want her to prioritize Flora Group, and both he and Gao Ren promised to bring him back safely. Despite the collective reassurances, Hua Mingyue was heartbroken, recalling Qin Donghai's heartfelt declarations of love and promises of unwavering support.

She struggled with the powerful urge to fly to him, but knew he would want her to remain strong and protect their company. The next morning, concerned about her, Hua Mingchen, Chen Jingran, and Gao Ren all arrived with breakfast, subtly avoiding any mention of Qin Donghai. Hua Mingyue, however, appeared composed and even more dedicated, planning to attend a stock meeting for the company.

Meanwhile, Gao Ren called with an update, confirming he had captured the initial perpetrators but was still searching for Qin Donghai, reassuring her they would not give up. Later, Chen Jingran met with his father, Chen Da, regarding the cooperation agreement and capital injection for Flora Group. Chen Da, however, immediately steered the conversation toward Chen Jingran and Hua Mingyue's wedding, pushing for them to marry quickly and have children.

Chen Jingran tried to postpone, citing Hua Mingyue's demanding schedule, but Chen Da was insistent on setting the wedding date immediately. Simultaneously, Hua Mingyue received another call from Gao Ren, who informed her that despite extensive coastal searches, Qin Donghai's whereabouts remained unknown, and they were expanding their operations. Under immense pressure, Hua Mingyue agreed to Chen Da's proposal for an engagement the following Sunday, hoping to secure the necessary funding for Flora Group.

Chen Jingran confronted Hua Mingyue, questioning her hasty agreement to his father's terms, believing they could have bought more time, especially with Qin Donghai still missing. Hua Mingyue, however, clung to her faith in Qin Donghai's return, reminding Chen Jingran that the "fake marriage" was their plan to save Flora.

She asserted her trust in him and Qin Donghai, declaring she had nothing to fear, recalling Qin Donghai's own words expressing his wish for her to enter into a fake marriage to buy time for Flora. On the day of the engagement ceremony, Hua Mingchen expressed concern to Chen Jingran, feeling it was cruel to force Hua Mingyue into this situation while Qin Donghai was still missing. Hua Mingyue, though inwardly conflicted, proceeded with the ceremony.

Chen Da delivered a celebratory speech, highlighting Chen Jingran's long-standing affection for Hua Mingyue and the long-anticipated union between their families, expressing his eagerness for grandchildren. As Hua Mingyue walked onto the stage, she experienced a vivid hallucination of Qin Donghai, reaching out for him before Chen Jingran gently guided her back to reality. He quietly offered her an escape, but Hua Mingyue chose to continue.

During the ring exchange, Chen Jingran whispered "I'm sorry" to Hua Mingyue and then dramatically collapsed. At the hospital, the doctor found no medical issues, attributing the fainting to stress. After Chen Da left, Chen Jingran confessed to Hua Mingyue that he faked the illness, unable to bear her suffering. He tried to comfort her, suggesting Qin Donghai might be delayed but was surely making his way back.

Chen Jingran planned to prolong his "illness" to postpone the wedding indefinitely, even after the contract was signed. However, Chen Da, wise to their deception, burst in, dismissing Chen Jingran's act. He declared they would skip the engagement and proceed directly to marriage, presenting Hua Mingyue with a prenuptial agreement.

The agreement stipulated that they must marry and register their union within three months, or Flora Group would face severe financial penalties and ultimately the transfer of all its shares to Chen Da. Chen Jingran vehemently argued against the unfair terms, but his father was unyielding, giving Hua Mingyue two days to make her decision.

Still without news of Qin Donghai, Hua Mingyue received a call from Ye Xueer, who gently advised her not to sacrifice her personal happiness for the company, urging her to reconsider the marriage if her heart wasn't in it. Later, Hua Mingyue visited the picking garden, a place she cherished with Qin Donghai. She told the hostess he was on a business trip, only to learn that Qin Donghai had secretly booked their room for an entire year.

This revelation brought back poignant memories of Qin Donghai explaining his thoughtful gesture, wanting her to have a sanctuary from stress, and of him creating a starry room for her, promising grander romantic gestures in the future. The hostess highlighted Qin Donghai's deep affection for Hua Mingyue. Back at the signing table, as Hua Mingyue prepared to sign the prenuptial agreement, Hua Mingchen confronted Chen Da, accusing him of a hostile takeover of Flora Group.

Chen Da deflected, claiming the marriage was a long-standing arrangement by Hua Mingyue's grandfather. He pressed Hua Mingyue to sign, promising a unified future for Flora and Tongda under her and Chen Jingran's leadership. Just as Hua Mingyue hesitated, pen hovering over the document, Qin Donghai burst in, apologizing for his delay. Hua Mingyue, overwhelmed with relief, confirmed it was truly him.

She defiantly told Chen Da she would not sign the agreement, stating she would do anything for Flora except sacrifice her own happiness. Qin Donghai took her hand, ready to leave, but Chen Da erupted in anger. At that moment, Hua Mancheng appeared, sternly telling Chen Da that he was back, and no one would take Flora from the Hua family.

Later, Hua Mingyue tearfully expressed her gratitude to Qin Donghai, recounting her hallucination of him at the engagement and acknowledging the dangers he had faced. Qin Donghai reaffirmed his love and promised never to leave her again. At a press conference, Hua Mancheng confessed to deliberately sabotaging Flora's factory electrical system, which accidentally caused the fire.

He absolved Hua Mingyue and Flora Group of any responsibility, apologized to his family, the company, injured workers, and the public, stating his willingness to accept legal punishment. Privately, Hua Mancheng struggled with his jealousy towards Hua Mingyue and the consequences of his misguided actions. Meanwhile, Yao Shengnan, distraught by Hua Mancheng's public confession and the collapse of her plans. She ungraciously bumped into a delivery man, rudely blaming him before limping away.

Back home, Yao Shengnan tended to her leg injury alone. Her father entered, offering comfort. Yao Shengnan tearfully confessed her lifelong drive to prove herself worthy of his affirmation, feeling like a failure and hating the person she had become. Her father apologized for unknowingly pressuring her to conform to his expectations, assuring her he deeply cared and only wished for her to live a carefree life, not to prove anything to him.

Yao Shengnan then revealed her deep-seated desire for his attention and praise, which she felt was always reserved for her brother. They shared a heartfelt embrace, mending their long-standing misunderstandings, as her father encouraged her to let go of her self-blame and embrace happiness on her birthday.
