He suggested that Gao Ren, with his international rescue certificate, was better equipped to lead the search, and Chen Jingran offered to provide his international connections to assist Gao Ren. Chen Jingran reassured Hua Mingyue that Qin Donghai would want her to prioritize Flora Group, and both he and Gao Ren promised to bring him back safely. At a press conference, Hua Mancheng confessed to deliberately sabotaging Flora's factory electrical system, which accidentally caused the fire.
He absolved Hua Mingyue and Flora Group of any responsibility, apologized to his family, the company, injured workers, and the public, stating his willingness to accept legal punishment. Privately, Hua Mancheng struggled with his jealousy towards Hua Mingyue and the consequences of his misguided actions.
