Cheng Liao invited her sister, Cheng Yi, to dinner, which initially caused Cheng Yi to complain, thinking Sheng Jingchu wasn't taking care of Cheng Liao's meals. Cheng Liao quickly clarified that Sheng Jingchu had offered food, but she rushed back because she missed her family. She then happily recounted how Sheng Jingchu had taken her to his childhood home, shared stories of his youth, and declared his eternal love for her.

Cheng Yi teasingly remarked on Cheng Liao's "fool's fortune" but then redirected the conversation to her own desire for a soulmate. Cheng Liao, in turn, playfully suggested Cheng Yi could find all the souls of great authors in a bookstore, enough for a lifetime of romance without needing a boyfriend. Their lighthearted banter soon escalated into a playful tickle fight.

Later, while Cheng Yi was washing her face and looking into the mirror, an image of Jiang Yuda appeared, expressing his affection. He questioned why everyone else saw them as a perfect match except her and promised to always be there for her, whether she was happy or sad. Cheng Yi was startled by this vivid vision, wondering if it revealed subconscious feelings she held for him.

That night, Sheng Jingchu called Cheng Liao, expressing how much he missed her, even though they had just seen each other. Cheng Liao admitted she missed him too and asked if he was tired after their two days together. He assured her he would be "re-energized" after a good night's sleep and asked if she would accompany him again the next day.

Cheng Liao agreed, telling him to be punctual when picking her up, to which he playfully responded, "Got it," before they said goodnight. Xu Chi summoned Lisa to his office, confronting her with surveillance footage that clearly showed her intentionally turning off the power and locking the studio door, fully aware that Cheng Yi was inside. Lisa initially feigned ignorance but then accused Xu Chi and Cheng Yi of conspiring against her.

She argued that since Cheng Yi joined Pinecone Video, she had been deliberately sidelined, despite her previous popularity, and expressed disdain for a new show with a budget far below her annual salary. Xu Chi dismissed her complaints, stating that her actions and performance justified her situation. He announced a salary reduction for the next year and offered her the option to leave if she couldn't focus on her work.

Lisa reluctantly agreed to stay but was then ordered to apologize to Cheng Yi. With a forced smile, Lisa went to Cheng Yi and offered an apology. Cheng Yi accepted it, expressing a hope for a more harmonious working relationship in the future. After Lisa left, Cheng Yi remarked to Xu Chi how surprisingly assertive he had become.

Xu Chi responded by saying he wouldn't allow anyone to bully her as long as he was there, because she was the person he cared about most. Sheng Jingchu took Cheng Liao furniture shopping. Cheng Liao asked about his sudden desire for new furniture. Sheng Jingchu explained that his Master had commented on his house being too plain, like a showroom, with only black, white, and grey colors.

He admitted that colors hadn't mattered to him before due to his color blindness, but now, with her, he wanted a change. Cheng Liao enthusiastically embraced the task, describing various furniture pieces with sensory details: a claret sofa resembling mulberry juice, a light cream table, and a brown chair like rich coffee, which together formed a "thick latte." She even described the color of the sky after a rain, hinting at a fresh earthy scent.

She assured him that all the furniture would arrive and be assembled within three days, promising his house would be completely transformed. Later, as they enjoyed a meal, Sheng Jingchu praised Cheng Liao as "the best girlfriend in the world," noting how the colors on the side of their bowls reminded him of mango. He mentioned that dessert was on its way.

Meanwhile, Yao Ke remained fixated on his Go game against Sheng Jingchu, determined to understand his loss and achieve a decisive victory. His brother, Yao Pu, urged him to be more cheerful and move past the defeat, pointing out that Sheng Jingchu was now happily enjoying time with his girlfriend while he was tormenting himself.

Yao Ke, however, insisted that he had initiated the Ten-game Match with a vow to win six games, and therefore, he could not afford to lose. Sheng Jingchu, later discussing Yao Ke with Cheng Liao, acknowledged his opponent's commendable pride and unyielding spirit, despite his unsettling intensity.

He reflected on the dual nature of obsession and the philosophy of the Tao Te Ching, particularly the idea that "extreme toughness breaks easily, the kindest act flows like water," and how he struggled to apply this to his game. He admitted to his own deep-seated obsessions and believed that letting go of them would be the key to completing his master's assignment. He anticipated more challenges from Yao Ke.

Later, Yao Pu found Yao Ke still engrossed in his Go analysis and tried to persuade him to eat and drink. Yao Ke confessed his profound despair, lamenting that despite clearly seeing Sheng Jingchu's weaknesses, he consistently lost by a single move. He described the feeling as suffocating, like being held underwater just inches from the surface. Having lost four games, Yao Ke felt his chances of winning were slim and expressed that he had disappointed Yao Pu.

His brother, however, encouraged him to stay strong and believe in himself, insisting that he could win if he overcame his self-doubt. Jiang Yuda's father called him, demanding his immediate return home and threatening to fetch him personally. Jiang Yuda firmly refused, stating he would not return until he became a professional Go player, viewing Go as his most important career.

He playfully deflected his father's attempts to shame him about his current humble lifestyle, even alluding to a "goddess" he was pursuing before abruptly ending the call. Soon after, Jiang Yuda received a message from his father, Jiang Ban Cheng, indicating his credit card had been restored and a transfer had been made, along with a teasing message about him surrendering too quickly and falling in love, but ultimately showing pride in his son.

Later, Cheng Yi confronted Jiang Yuda about the significant amount of money he had repaid her, questioning its source, knowing that Cheng Feng Shou couldn't have paid him so much. Jiang Yuda insisted he had borrowed it from a friend, upholding the principle of repaying debts. He reiterated his contentment with working at Tianshui Lane, even if it meant waiting tables for Uncle Cheng indefinitely.

Before leaving, he surprised Cheng Yi with a box of double-boiled snow pear with rock sugar from a famous, highly-sought-after dessert shop, explaining its benefits for hosts like her. Cheng Yi, however, declined due to her sugar-free diet, fearing she would become like her father. Jiang Yuda then decided to enjoy the dessert himself, further deepening Cheng Yi's evolving perception of him. Before the upcoming fifth game of the Ten-game Match, Cheng Liao reluctantly bid farewell to Sheng Jingchu.

She had prepared desserts in the fridge and fruit tea, reminding him to stay nourished, especially with Vitamin C, as he often forgot to eat fruit while playing. Sheng Jingchu expressed his reluctance for her to leave, but Cheng Liao reassured him, promising it wasn't a permanent departure and that the memory foam pillow she bought would ensure he slept well. Separately, Jiang Yuda accompanied Cheng Yi on her morning run.

When Cheng Yi unexpectedly sprained her ankle, Jiang Yuda immediately offered her a ride on his motorcycle. He then attentively advised her on how to care for her injury, emphasizing the importance of rest, proper diet, massage, and adequate warm-ups for future workouts, and suggesting she allow herself some sweets rather than diet excessively. This thoughtful and mature care greatly changed Cheng Yi's perception of him, moving her away from seeing him as merely a child.

Upon returning home, Cheng Liao noticed a rare dessert Cheng Yi was holding, remarking that it came from an internet-famous shop known for its long queues, which further impressed Cheng Yi with Jiang Yuda's attentiveness. As the fifth game of the Ten-game Match between Sheng Jingchu and Yao Ke commenced, Sheng Jingchu was clearly unwell, suffering from repeated sneezing. Cheng Liao worried about his condition, but he assured her he was fine and confident.

Watching the match on television, Xie Chang'an quickly concluded that Sheng Jingchu's symptoms indicated a cold due to seasonal changes and low immunity. He immediately decided to prepare a traditional Chinese medicine, Jade Screen Tea, using specific ingredients, and sent it to him. Other observers also expressed concern for Sheng Jingchu's performance. Meanwhile, Xiao Yan consulted hospital experts who diagnosed Sheng Jingchu with an allergic reaction and provided antiallergy medication.

Cheng Liao was desperate to deliver the medicine but was unable to interrupt the ongoing match. Commentators noted Sheng Jingchu's initially steady play, which put Yao Ke at a disadvantage. However, Sheng Jingchu soon made an unexpected move, deviating from the AI's optimal strategy, which seemed to create an opening for Yao Ke. The commentators speculated that this could be a turning point, potentially allowing Yao Ke to stage a dramatic comeback after four consecutive losses. Cheng Liao, watching anxiously, desperately hoped Sheng Jingchu would call a timeout so she could get him the much-needed medication.
