In Zhang Sinian's car, Yun Shu finally learned that the request her grandfather had mentioned was for her to marry Zhang Sinian. Yun Shu found this utterly ridiculous. She had a strange feeling that Zhang Sinian was trying to trick her. Upon hearing this, Zhang Sinian was clearly displeased and remarked that it was a pity Yun Shu wasn’t a screenwriter. Still, he said he would handle the matter properly.
Yun Shu explained that she had agreed to her grandfather’s request only because of the circumstances at the time and that she merely wanted to comfort him. Some time later, Yun Shu visited her grandfather in the hospital again, intending to confess the truth about her relationship with Zhang Sinian. But to her surprise, she found several people sitting in his hospital room.
Her grandfather told her that those people were all ungrateful and that he didn’t want to deal with them — they only came to him when they needed money. Just as Yun Shu was about to come clean to Grandpa Zhang, he noticed something was off and deliberately declared in front of everyone that Yun Shu was Zhang Sinian’s fiancée. In such a situation, Yun Shu found it hard to continue her confession.
Lin Nuo happened to overhear Zhang Sinian’s relatives urging Yun Shu to have children soon and quickly called Gao Zhiyi to inform her. Shocked by the news, Gao Zhiyi dropped the pizza she was feeding her boyfriend Qiqi. Lin Nuo and Gao Zhiyi interrogated Yun Shu, who then told them everything and asked for their advice. Yun Shu said that Zhang Sinian was her teacher, and she definitely couldn’t marry him.
Also, her sister still didn’t know she had been scammed when buying a house — now she was using one crisis to cover up another. Just as she finished speaking, her sister called, saying that her company had set up a new branch in China and she would be returning soon. She asked Yun Shu to tidy up the apartment. Unfortunately, Lawyer Meng was away on a business trip, but Lawyer Lü whom she met at the entrance was extremely enthusiastic. He offered to help but asked her to pay tens of thousands in legal fees. Upon hearing this, Yun Shu immediately declined and decided to leave.
Back in the hospital, Grandpa Zhang began urging Zhang Sinian to prepare for the wedding, saying all the relatives had already met Yun Shu. Zhang Sinian immediately replied that marriage required effort and he didn’t have time for it. Grandpa Zhang then demanded a report within three days proving that he and Yun Shu were incompatible. Once home, Zhang Sinian started running data analysis to argue why their marriage wouldn’t work — leaving Yun Shu dumbfounded.
Yun Shu told Lin Nuo and Gao Zhiyi about the 10,000 yuan lawyer fee. The two agreed to split the cost, covering 60% and 40% respectively for her. That night, Yun Shu told Zhang Sinian she had already paid the lawyer fee. Upon hearing this, Zhang Sinian suspected she had been scammed again.
The next day, he took Yun Shu to Qinhe Law Firm, confirmed that she had indeed been scammed, and retrieved the surveillance footage — without telling her the truth. Yun Shu helped Gao Zhiyi clean her dormitory thoroughly. Gao Zhiyi reminded her to ask Lawyer Lü about finding her cousin. But when Yun Shu called, the number had already been deactivated — that’s when she realized she had probably been scammed again.
At the hospital, Zhang Sinian presented a series of arguments proving that he and Yun Shu were incompatible for marriage. But Grandpa rejected his reasoning, stating that marriage was about life, not mathematics, and declared that the two were very suitable for each other — because Yun Shu had a warmth that could influence Zhang Sinian. At an academic conference, Zhang Sinian finally managed to track down Lawyer Lü and left early.
Meanwhile, the doctor told him that his grandfather had about a year left to live. The news devastated Zhang Sinian. Coincidentally, Grandpa also asked Yun Shu to visit him at the hospital. Once the two arrived, Grandpa gave them a shopping list and sent them out to buy things. Before they left, he secretly told Zhang Sinian to learn to see imperfect people with perfect eyes.
At the mall, Yun Shu kept struggling with whether to tell Zhang Sinian she had been scammed, but eventually decided to handle it herself. While Zhang Sinian hesitated over every purchase, Yun Shu quickly made all the decisions. At the supermarket checkout, an auntie who had forgotten her money borrowed some from Yun Shu. Without hesitation, Yun Shu lent it to her, firmly believing the woman would return it.
At first, Zhang Sinian didn’t believe the woman would pay her back, but under Yun Shu’s insistence, the woman did. Yun Shu smiled and said to Zhang Sinian, “See? There’s still warmth in this world.” Later, Zhang Sinian returned the 10,000 yuan Lawyer Lü had scammed from Yun Shu, saying that Lawyer Lü had been too busy lately to take on new cases. Yun Shu was overjoyed, believing she hadn’t been scammed after all. On the way back, Zhang Sinian suddenly proposed to Yun Shu — which took her by surprise.
