Yun Shu thanked Zhang Sinian for taking a detour to send her home. She painted a mermaid and gave it to Zhang Sinian as a gift. Zhang Sinian asked Yun Shu if she could move back in, and Yun Shu shyly nodded in response. Zhang Sinian carefully had the mermaid painting Yun Shu gave him framed. Still feeling uncertain about whether she should move back to Zhang Sinian’s place, Yun Shu sought advice from Gao Zhiyi.
Gao Zhiyi told Yun Shu that her connection with Zhang Sinian was one destined across three lifetimes—it wasn’t something that could be easily severed. Yun Shu was worried that she might fall in love with Zhang Sinian again, but Gao Zhiyi advised her to distract herself with other things when her mind got tangled. As soon as she finished speaking, Gao Zhiyi received a birthday invitation from Gu Xiao and was overjoyed.
Yun Shu pushed her suitcase back into Zhang Sinian’s home. The place was as spotless and new as ever, which reminded Yun Shu of all the little memories she had experienced there—including everything that had happened between her and Zhang Sinian. When she returned to the study, she found Zhang Sinian helping her hang blackout curtains, and he had even replaced the bedsheets and comforter with new ones.
Yun Shu felt that this time Zhang Sinian was genuinely happy to have her back, and she thanked him warmly. Curious, she sat down beside him and found out that Lu Yu had forced him to watch it, and he even had to critique Lu Yu’s acting afterward.

Zhang Sinian went to find Lawyer Meng and told him not to assign Yun Shu too much work. Suddenly, Yun Shu showed up looking for Lawyer Meng. With no excuse coming to mind within five minutes, Zhang Sinian had no choice but to hide under Lawyer Meng’s desk. Later, Zhang Sinian volunteered to go grocery shopping with Yun Shu. When they got to the supermarket, he even helped her calculate the most cost-effective way to shop.
A group of middle-aged women happened to follow Zhang Sinian’s method and indeed saved quite a bit. In front of them, Zhang Sinian even declared that Yun Shu was his wife.
