A memorial service was held for Ye Gong, attended by members of the Speeding Racing Team, as well as Hong Kuo and Li Aoduo. While sorting through Ye Gong's belongings, Zhang Chi and Xiaohe looked at trophies and reflected on Ye Gong's significance. Zhang Chi felt that Ye Gong was his mentor, his "talent spotter," and that without him, he wouldn't have succeeded. He stated that with Ye Gong gone, the wall supporting the Speeding Racing Team had collapsed.
Xiaohe also realized Ye Gong's importance, feeling lost and unsure of what to do now that he was gone. A news broadcast announced that the FASC, to commemorate Ye Gong and all racers who died in the sport, had decided to add "Ye Gong Circuit" as a candidate name for a new circuit. The report noted that this name was currently the most popular choice, surpassing the original top candidate, "Master Circuit."
Zhendong received a message from Hong Kuo informing him that Wei Qianli was manipulating things behind the scenes to prevent the circuit from being named the Ye Gong Circuit. Unable to stand by, Zhendong went to the Master Racing Team headquarters with a loudspeaker, demanding Wei Qianli come out. He publicly challenged Wei Qianli, calling him a "scoundrel" for trying to profit from Ye Gong's death.
Zhendong proposed a bet: if Wei Qianli won, Zhendong would give up his long-desired Dakar qualification spot; if Wei Qianli lost, he would give up the circuit naming rights. Wei Qianli, referring to Zhendong's father Yu Tai'ang, accepted the challenge, proposing a Parking Lot Race in an isolated location. Zhendong agreed to the terms and location. That night, as Zhendong drove towards the parking lot for the race, Shen Xiting called him.
She confirmed the location of the race near Motor Town and warned him that someone from the Master Racing Team had reported it, and the police were on their way to the scene to arrest them for illegal racing. Shen Xiting stressed that while Wei Qianli was close to retirement and wouldn't suffer significant consequences, Zhendong risked losing his racing license and his chance to go to Dakar, which she felt Ye Gong would not have wanted him to miss.
Zhendong insisted that Ye Gong's final honor was more important than his chance at Dakar. Zhang Chi then intercepted Zhendong on the road. Zhang Chi took Ye Gong's car from Zhendong, telling him to leave it to him, and went to race Wei Qianli himself. Zhang Chi and Wei Qianli reached the top of the parking lot just as Shen Xiting and the police arrived. They were both apprehended.
As Zhang Chi was being led away, he called out to Wei Qianli, telling him to remember to give the name back to Ye Gong. Zhang Chi reflected that destiny seemed to be unfolding as originally planned, recalling his future self mentioning a five-year ban. However, in the end, he was banned for four years from racing for engaging in illegal activities with Wei Qianli. He wondered if this meant the future had slightly changed.
Despite the ban, he successfully secured the circuit naming rights for Ye Gong. The team later held a groundbreaking ceremony for the Ye Gong Circuit, making it a grand and splendid occasion. Some team members felt the small "Superstar Ye" statue placed there didn't fully represent Ye Gong, but others noted it was something Ye liked, and it would stand there, watching the races, representing him.
The Speeding Racing Team members reminisced about their past, focusing on dreams and the days they struggled together. With Ye Gong's passing and Zhang Chi's ban, Zhendong and Ji Xing were left to pursue the Dakar dream. Yu Tai'ang also left. Zhendong, after holding onto his feelings for a long time, finally confronted his father. He questioned if Yu Tai'ang ever thought about him and his mother during his years of absence.
Yu Tai'ang admitted to being selfish, stating that his true destination was racing and the desert, specifically Dakar and Rose Lake. He claimed staying would have been even more selfish as it would have caused his wife more pain, and he needed to bear the consequences of his chosen path alone. Zhendong accused him of being extremely selfish, telling him that being his co-driver wasn't enough and that he owed his mother for life, suggesting his path should be redemption.
Wei Qianli retired in disappointment due to the illegal racing incident. The Master Group also underwent significant internal management changes. The new management decided to keep Hong Kuo, but he chose a different path. He publicly confessed to tampering with Zhang Chi's car the previous season and offered a sincere apology to Zhang Chi, Zhendong, and the entire Speeding Racing Team. Meanwhile, Officer Shen Xiting started a popular traffic safety show called "Tune into Traffic Rules."
With his mother's support, Zhendong established the Zhendong Racing Team, which the future Zhang Chi had described as invincible. Zhendong asked the Speeding Racing Team members if they forgave Hong Kuo, and they did, agreeing to his return to racing. However, they declined Zhendong's invitation to join his new team. Following the path fate seemed to have laid out, Zhang Chi opened a fried rice stall. Zhendong visited as his first customer and gave him a five-star review.
They had a humorous exchange as Zhendong tried to help Zhang Chi cook, commenting on the process, but ultimately agreed the fried rice tasted good. The "Three Knights of Rookies" also found new directions; one decided to return to Finland for further training, promising to improve and challenge Zhendong later. Zhendong also invited Li Aoduo and another driver to join his team.
When presented with the contract and seeing the team name "Zhendong Racing Team," Li Aoduo initially hesitated, seeing it as promoting personal heroism and stating they had other options. Their hesitation ended abruptly when they discovered the contract included a dedicated technician team specifically for them. Upon seeing this clause, they eagerly agreed to sign, with Li Aoduo carefully reviewing the details of his exclusive team.
Zhendong observed Zhang Chi gradually embodying the characteristics of his future self and realized that the troublesome future Zhang Chi who had appeared in his life might never exist in the same way. However, everything that future Zhang Chi left behind, including the lessons and shared experiences, remained and became a part of Zhendong. Five years later, in 2027, Zhang Chi decided to return to race in Bayanbulak, despite his future self's knowledge of the danger.
He explained to Zhendong that he wasn't trying to win but refused to lose, wanting to see if his fate in Bayanbulak could be altered. Before the race, Zhang Chi's car was damaged during transport when a stone hit the window, frustrating him and making him feel destiny was being stubborn. Zhendong arrived with Yu Qiang and Weiyi to assess the damage and offered his team and pit to help repair the car.
Xiaohe, noticing Zhendong was still single, inquired about his relationship status, noting that her child was almost in primary school while Zhendong hadn't started his own family, playfully urging him to hurry. During the race, Zhendong pushed himself to the limit, breaking his own record. However, Zhang Chi still surpassed him, driving intensely in his unique style. Zhendong watched, frustrated but knowing Zhang Chi's nature.
Zhang Chi crossed the finish line first, winning the race and achieving a better time than Zhendong. But the predicted accident occurred; his car was unable to stop as it headed towards a cliff. Just as he braced for the inevitable, his car was stopped by a cluster of trees. It was revealed that Zhendong had planted these trees five years earlier specifically to change Zhang Chi's fate at that exact location.
Zhang Chi was injured but safe and returned to the team, who celebrated his survival and victory by lifting him up. Zhendong felt he had completed his mission. Months later, Zhang Chi, who had been in a coma, suddenly removed his oxygen mask and woke up, much to the joyful surprise of everyone present. He recalled Zhendong's help and mentioned having a long dream. He vaguely remembered hearing about someone getting married.
Weiyi and Ji Xing immediately confirmed that they were together and getting married, surprising him. After being discharged from the hospital, Zhang Chi joined the Speeding Racing Team for a race and celebration together.
