However, Yi Wuyou refused, citing the Emperor's impending canal construction in Ningzhou as a strategic disadvantage and expressing his need to uncover a suspected spy within the Ningzhou old families, specifically Tianyao from Qingcaobin. Hecrane Jin questioned if his reluctance to leave was due to Ye Lingshuang, but Yi Wuyou dismissed it, explaining that Lingshuang's proximity to the Emperor made her a valuable asset for their cause.
