> Novoland: The Castle in the Sky 2 Recap
Lian Yi was fatally attacked, taking multiple sword strikes. Despite her wounds, she managed to return to Yun Muyang, collapsing before him. With her last breath, Lian Yi revealed that Du Xianyin was her killer, pleading with Yun Muyang to avenge her. She died holding the jade pendant Yun Muyang had given her, a symbol of her unrequited love for him.
Later, while collecting Lian Yi's belongings, Yun Muyang discovered a piece of cloth Lian Yi had sewn for him, which deepened his sorrow. He then confronted Du Xianyin, asking about her whereabouts the previous night. Du Xianyin attempted to mislead him, claiming she was out getting his favorite dim sum. However, Yun Muyang cut to the chase, directly accusing her of Lian Yi's murder.
Du Xianyin feigned ignorance, expressing shock at Lian Yi's death, but Yun Muyang presented the note she had used to arrange a meeting with Lian Yi, found on Lian Yi's person. He insisted that Lian Yi would never risk her life to falsely accuse anyone. Du Xianyin admitted to meeting Lian Yi but denied harming her, urging Yun Muyang to trust her.
Yun Muyang recounted his past belief in her good nature and his willingness to wait for her to change and atone for her mistakes, but now questioned how he could trust her given the circumstances. He pressed her about her involvement in the death of Qi Zhenxian and the murder of Zi Juan. Du Xianyin, realizing Yun Muyang would no longer believe her, mockingly confirmed all his accusations.
She confessed to killing Qi Zhenxian and Lian Yi, stating that Lian Yi was a thorn in her side and one stab was not enough to quell her hatred. She further gloated that if Yun Muyang had married her, the entire Silver Wings Cavalry would have become hers. Enraged, Yun Muyang wounded her with his sword. Du Xianyin dared him to kill her, and when he hesitated, she plunged the sword deeper into herself.
She then took the wooden hairpin Yun Muyang had given her, symbolizing his sincerity, broke it, and declared their relationship irrevocably severed. She warned him that if they ever met again, she would show no mercy under her sword. After the confrontation, Du Xianyin collapsed from her injuries in the forest. Xuan Ji found her and reiterated her cynical view that men's promises are fleeting, lamenting that Du Xianyin, like herself, had been foolish enough to believe them.
Du Xianyin, filled with hatred, vowed to destroy all of Yun Muyang's hopes. Taking Xuan Ji's advice, Du Xianyin began systematically attacking the Silver Wings Army. Xuan Ji spread rumors that Qi Zhenxian had secretly colluded with the imperial court, while Du Xianyin leveraged her intimate knowledge of the Silver Wings' defense deployments. As a result, several strategically important cities guarded by the Silver Wings Cavalry fell one after another.
Yun Muyang decided on a bold plan: a surprise attack on Nanyu City itself to reverse their fortunes. Feng Ruche and Bai Dangdang pledged to accompany him. Along the way to Nanyu City, Feng Ruche was deeply saddened by the sight of countless displaced and suffering civilians. The Silver Wings Cavalry advanced, but before they could launch their planned infiltration, they found themselves surrounded by enemy forces.
Du Xianyin and Xuan Ji appeared overhead in a flying vehicle, using a propaganda flyer to further disseminate the false information that Qi Zhenxian had secretly conspired with their enemies. This tactic severely undermined the morale of the Silver Wings soldiers, causing some to question the righteousness of their cause. As the Nanyu City army charged, the Silver Wings' already fractured morale made them unable to fight effectively.
Du Xianyin descended and engaged Yun Muyang in battle, reminding him of her vow to show no mercy. Though Yun Muyang fought back, he also instinctively pulled her to safety during one perilous moment. Du Xianyin exploited his hesitation, striking him a heavy blow and ensuring his capture. As Yun Muyang was led away, a broken wooden hairpin fell from his person.
Du Xianyin was momentarily struck by a pang of sadness upon realizing he had kept it all this time. With their General captured, the morale of the Silver Wings Cavalry plummeted. Suddenly, Feng Ruche, the Winged Empress, soared onto the battlefield, her golden wings a beacon of hope that rallied the demoralized troops. Feng Ruche confronted Du Xianyin, declaring her intention to avenge Lian Yi and prove herself the true daughter of the Feng family.
The two engaged in a fierce duel. Du Xianyin was outmatched by Feng Ruche, but Xuan Ji intervened by ordering archers to fire at Feng Ruche, saving Du Xianyin. Xuan Ji taunted Feng Ruche, reminding her of past defeats while acknowledging her growth. Despite the odds, Feng Ruche and the remaining Silver Wings soldiers fought valiantly. In a desperate act of heroism, Bai Dangdang shielded Feng Ruche from a volley of arrows, sacrificing his life to save her. Feng Ruche, devastated by his death, also sustained an arrow wound in the chaotic battle.
