My Sunshine Episode 17 Recap
> My Sunshine Recap
He Yichen, about to leave the law firm, thought to call Mosheng to give her a heads-up about the evening. However, Mosheng misunderstood, believing he would be eating dinner out. While driving his colleagues home, a female colleague began to playfully inquire about his ideal type of girl. He Yichen smiled, his thoughts drifting back to his college days with Mosheng, recalling her signing up for the debate club, their romantic moments, and him accompanying her during 800-meter runs.
He openly told his colleagues that he did have a girl he liked, but she was not what they imagined; she was far from excellent, her grades were average, she was careless and often troublesome, always wanting to play. When asked if she was pretty, he admitted she was "not bad" but many were prettier.
Further pressed about her elegance, He Yichen simply described her as "noisy," leaving his colleagues puzzled as to why such a distinguished lawyer would be fond of a girl who was neither outstanding nor beautiful, and quite boisterous. After showering and dressed in homewear, Mosheng walked into the living room barefoot, only to discover it was filled with guests. Xiang Heng greeted her, and she felt a bit flustered.
He Yichen quickly approached her, telling her to put on her shoes. Following her into the room, He Yichen's attention immediately went to her newly cut hair. Feeling awkward, Mosheng asked if she could avoid joining the guests, but He Yichen didn't give her a chance to refuse, simply telling her to get dressed and come out. To his colleagues' surprise, He Yichen openly admitted that he and Mosheng were married, jokingly telling Xiang Heng to prepare a red envelope.
Meiting recalled meeting Mosheng previously when Mosheng returned He Yichen's lost wallet to the firm. She then excitedly concocted a romantic story, imagining their love affair had blossomed from that act of honesty. Later, as Mosheng was washing vegetables in the kitchen, He Yichen joined her. She gently reproached him for the hasty gathering, saying she was completely unprepared. He Yichen reminded her that she had previously complained about him not introducing her to his friends and family.
The dinner was a pleasant affair for everyone. After seeing his colleagues off, He Yichen told Mosheng he could now answer her question from the previous day, affirming that he did not regret marrying her. The next morning at the office, Xiaohong was chasing a colleague, blaming him for recommending a peculiar hair salon. Lu Yuanfeng sympathetically looked at Mosheng, asking if she, too, had fallen victim to the salon. Mosheng chuckled, saying the effect was "quite good."
Lu Yuanfeng, misinterpreting her contentment, assumed that He Yichen must like Mosheng's new haircut. Believing that Yichen and Yimei might have similar tastes, Lu Yuanfeng decided to visit the same hair salon, hoping a similar haircut would win Yimei's affection. Lu Yuanfeng's new haircut elicited uproarious laughter from Xiao Xiao, making it impossible for them to work together during a photoshoot. Lu Yuanfeng was utterly exasperated.
Later, during a date, Yimei didn't notice anything amiss with his hair until he finally couldn't hold back and asked her directly. Yimei then casually remarked that it seemed "a little weird but it's okay," confirming Lu Yuanfeng's suspicion that she didn't genuinely care about him if she could overlook such a drastic change. Meanwhile, thanks to Lao Yuan's diligent efforts, the news of He Yichen's marriage had spread throughout the Changhua alumni network working in the legal field.
Lao Yuan pressed He Yichen about when he planned to hold the wedding ceremony. He Yichen stated he intended to hold it after the New Year and asked Lao Yuan to be his witness, to which Lao Yuan happily agreed, saying he would do anything to save on a red envelope. Lao Yuan then suggested that after the New Year would be too late and proposed holding the wedding right after the upcoming school anniversary.
Separately, Xiao Xiao informed Mosheng that she had acted in her first movie, offering her and He Yichen two tickets. When the couple arrived at the cinema, they were surprised to find it was an animated film called "Turtle Adventure," leading them to believe Xiao Xiao had given them the wrong tickets. However, when they called her, Xiao Xiao revealed she was the voice actress for the "turtle girl" in the movie.
Later, after the movie, He Yichen questioned Mosheng about why Lu Yuanfeng was at the cinema when Mosheng had claimed to be working with him that evening. He shrewdly deduced that Mosheng and Xiao Xiao had conspired to trick him into going to the movie. Mosheng praised his detective skills, jokingly suggesting he should be a policeman. Afterward, Mosheng spoke to Xiao Xiao on the phone, who was excited about venturing further into the film industry.
Mosheng confided in Xiao Xiao that she didn't know what state her relationship with He Yichen was in, feeling they weren't quite like a husband and wife, but at least he no longer seemed angry at her.
