She then overheard Marketing Department staff discussing the incident, revealing that the shoe supplier was Ms. Lie's former schoolmate and implying a deeper conspiracy, possibly someone setting up Ms. Lie to aid Mr. Fu's promotion. Upon learning that Ms. Lie had resigned, Nuannuan rushed to her office.
Mr. Fu attempted to persuade Ms. Lie to stay, but she was firm in her decision to leave, assuring him that HOCO's design style could be managed by the Marketing Department and that any new design director would be a better fit. She expressed gratitude to her team for their consistent efforts and support.
Despite Nuannuan's apologies, Ms. Lie explained her resignation was not merely due to the fashion show incident but to avoid getting further entangled in a "boring power struggle." She believed her departure would resolve the show's issues. Ms. Lie then advised Nuannuan to use her time at HOCO to discover what truly matters to her and to tell Li Biqi that a designer's talent is the only thing that should be exploited.
Soon after, Han Che arrived at the company looking for Nuannuan. He encountered Li Biqi, who informed him that the Design Department was in chaos following Ms. Lie's resignation and that Nuannuan was likely facing joint liability. Concerned, Han Che found Nuannuan and took her home. Once there, Nuannuan declared her intention to move out. Han Che was taken aback, assuming she had moved past the issue.
However, Nuannuan found his assumption absurd, asserting that he had shattered her dreams and caused her immense suffering, from the humiliation of watching Lin Jiayi rise on stage to the hardship of being jobless and homeless. He apologized, pledging to dedicate his life to compensating her. Nuannuan dismissed his words, bitterly remarking that their relationship had become one solely of compensation. She then left with Fang Hanchen, leaving Han Che to grapple with his remorse.
Fang Hanchen took Nuannuan to a new apartment he had purchased, offering it to her. Nuannuan expressed reservations, particularly about rent. Fang Hanchen recounted how she had once delivered an outfit for him, drenched in sweat, after being fired from a job because of him. He explained that his current efforts were driven by a desire to be able to tell her, "It's okay, I'm here for you," whenever she needed him.
Feeling he had already done too much for her, Nuannuan insisted he take her to a hotel instead. After dropping her off, Fang Hanchen discovered she had left her house key in his car. Back at their apartment, Han Che gazed at the empty rooms, reflecting on the lively atmosphere they once shared, now alone with his sorrow. Gu Li explained Han Che’s tendency to avoid explanations, then turned the conversation to their own unresolved issues, telling Han Xue to think things through before they spoke further. Meanwhile, Han Che remembered a suspicious individual at the fashion show and reviewed surveillance footage from the underground parking lot. He found the relevant clip but failed to message it to Nuannuan, as she had blocked him. Just then, Fang Hanchen called, asking to meet to return the apartment key.
When Han Che asked why Nuannuan didn't return it herself, Fang Hanchen informed him they had broken up. Han Che then asked Fang Hanchen to add him as a contact, explaining he had something important for Nuannuan. Nuannuan received the surveillance image from Fang Hanchen, which confirmed her suspicion that someone had tried to destroy evidence. She rushed to a garbage disposal area to search for the shoes.
With the help of a cleaning lady, she located the bag of broken shoes in a surveillance blind spot. The woman also pointed out a permanently parked car, which Nuannuan realized might have a dashboard camera. While Nuannuan went to the management office to find the owner, her boss, Director Liu, called Fang Hanchen to reprimand him for missing an important meeting. Nuannuan successfully obtained the dashboard camera footage, which served as crucial evidence. However, Director Liu was dismissive.
He deleted the video, which implicated Li Biqi, and offered Nuannuan a scholarship to study in Italy. Nuannuan declined, and recalling Ms. Lie's advice that a designer's true value is their talent, she sent a copy of the video to the Marketing Department, exposing Li Biqi. Having resigned from HOCO, Nuannuan visited Ms. Lie, finding her at home with her child. Ms. Lie explained that she keeps her work and personal life separate, emphasizing that work isn't everything.
She asked if Nuannuan had found her new focus, but Nuannuan admitted she hadn't decided yet. Elsewhere, Gu Li grew concerned about Han Che's deteriorating state and frequent headaches. Han Che suddenly collapsed. At the hospital, a doctor stressed the urgency of surgery and instructed him to avoid any emotional triggers beforehand. Meanwhile, Han Xue discovered a stash of baby supplies Gu Li had bought.
Reflecting on his kindness, she confessed her feelings, apologized for her past behavior, and asked how they could return to how they were. Gu Li calmly replied that they had both matured and going back was no longer possible, leaving her confused. Han Xue confided in Nuannuan, who realized Gu Li no longer wanted to be her "little brother" but her boyfriend.
Gu Li, in turn, sought advice from Naomi, who suggested he just give in if it was too difficult, leaving him conflicted. Fang Hanchen met with Nuannuan and revealed he had been invited to participate in a reality show called "Falling in Love." The show required him to sever all romantic ties, and he asked for her opinion. Nuannuan enthusiastically encouraged him, believing his gentle and considerate nature would make him popular.
He then invited her to be the stylist for him and his female partner on the show. Seeing it as a new opportunity, Nuannuan accepted. As she prepared to leave, a distressed Fang Hanchen stopped her, asking if she wasn't curious about his on-screen partner. When he revealed it was Lin Jiayi, Nuannuan’s relaxed expression left him deeply disappointed. He then told her that it was Han Che who had found the video evidence for her.
