My Dear Destiny Episode 36 (Ending) Recap
> My Dear Destiny Recap
As Lv Ao challenged Lv Che, demanding his surrender, Lv Che defiantly declared that he had no use for the title of the King of Yiqi, nor did he covet it. He accused Lv Ao of having everything while he had nothing, only desiring Qingli. In his final moments, a doll Qingli had made for him lay at his feet.
He looked at it, recalling their past: Qingli offering him the doll she made as a token of gratitude, asking him to call her casually when alone. He remembered telling her she was special and different, envying her free spirit, and asking if she would leave with him if he could take her. He also remembered her confusion and his own insistence that he never meant to harm her.
Overwhelmed with the thought that he still ended up with nothing, Lv Che lamented why he was pushed to such an extent, then committed suicide in the court. As San Floral's followers rushed to her aid, Wu Ji intercepted them. One of the followers, recognizing Wu Ji, questioned why he was with the Beicang Tribe. Wu Ji accused San Floral of betraying their master and draining the Witch Power from their fellow members to cultivate Dark Witch Power.
He challenged them, asking if they truly wished to serve such a person as their leader. The followers, however, expressed their fear of San Floral's immense Dark Witch Power, claiming they had no choice but to obey. Wu Ji rebuked them, warning that without the courage to resist, they would forever live in fear. Qiqi confronted San Floral, who expressed surprise that Qiqi had recovered her Witch Power.
Qiqi demanded San Floral return to the Witch Tribe for punishment, but San Floral refused, vowing to send Qiqi to join her master in the afterlife. The two engaged in a fierce battle, San Floral employing her powerful Dark Witch Power. When San Floral attempted to seize the Blood Jade, Qiqi swiftly destroyed it, infuriating San Floral, who then injured Qiqi. Lv Ao intervened, protecting Qiqi and pushing San Floral back.
San Floral, in turn, unleashed the formidable Blood Drinking Sword, declaring that its possessor would rule the world. Lv Ao attempted to stop her, but San Floral wounded him, causing him to cough blood, and then used the sword's power to attack everyone. To prevent further destruction, Qiqi made a desperate choice. She leapt forward, seizing San Floral and the Blood Drinking Sword, declaring her intention for them to perish together.
San Floral frantically tried to break free as her Dark Witch Power was consumed by the sword. Her face contorted, and she vanished, while Qiqi fell from the sky, only to be swiftly caught by Lv Ao. With the grand battle concluded, Lv Ao ordered the dismissal of all concubines from his royal harem, choosing to keep only Qiqi as his sole wife.
The High Consort, distraught over Lv Che's death and blaming herself, descended into madness and was confined to ShanZe Palace for the remainder of her life. Meanwhile, Ling Wanshan and General Zuo, who had conspired in the rebellion, faced the severe penalty of having their entire families executed. Life gradually settled back into a semblance of peace. One day, while Qiqi was enjoying a swing, she accidentally got injured.
She intended to return to her room for treatment, but Lian Qiao anxiously insisted she visit the Royal Academy of Medicine to prevent scarring. Noticing Lian Qiao's odd behavior, Qiqi feigned compliance but then discreetly returned to her room. There, she discovered Lv Ao, who had transformed the room into a beautiful bridal chamber, complete with a phoenix crown and exquisite wedding robes. Lv Ao, who had been planning a surprise re-proposal, was startled by her early return.
He asked if she would marry him again, explaining that their previous marriage didn't count since she didn't remember it, and he too had little recollection. As Qiqi admired the wedding attire, Lv Ao presented her with a consort's stamp, promising to hold a coronation after their wedding. He playfully suggested she might be agreeing only for the stamp, urging her to reconsider. Qiqi, however, quickly snatched the stamp back, declaring, "I said yes because I love you."
The palace buzzed with joy as Lv Ao and Qiqi’s wedding ceremony recommenced. During the festivities, Lian Qiao and Yinzi took their opportunity to relentlessly ply Wei Xun with alcohol, settling old scores from when he had imprisoned them. Wu Ji, after entrusting Qiqi to Lv Ao and making him promise to treat her well, also engaged in conversation with Lv Ao.
As Lv Ao, quite drunk, decided to retire to the bridal chamber, Ling arrived at the wedding, having recently ascended to the throne of Beicang. Wu Ji approached her, noting her new royal status. Ling, in her characteristic proud manner, declared that he was unworthy of her, but Wu Ji questioned why she still wore the Bond Bell they shared.
She casually claimed she was used to it and too lazy to remove it, a statement an attendant quickly debunked by revealing how much she cherished it. Wu Ji then suggested that with trade now open between their lands, frequent meetings would be beneficial for both, to which Ling reluctantly agreed for the sake of their regions' development. Wu Ji directly asked if she had missed him, a question Ling chose not to answer directly.
Ling then decided to "crash" the bridal chamber to learn about getting married. Inside, Lv Ao, despite his intoxication, became instantly alert upon entering the room. He lifted Qiqi's bridal veil. Qiqi playfully pretended to be scared, exclaiming "Ghost!" and then acted disoriented, repeatedly asking for "light." Lv Ao grew genuinely concerned, asking what was wrong and urging her to look at him, thinking she might be unwell.
Qiqi then burst into laughter, revealing her prank and teasing him for being so easily fooled despite his usual cleverness. Lv Ao, admitting she had indeed scared him, gazed at her lovingly and promised to always fall for her tricks as long as it pleased her. Amidst their laughter, the couple celebrated their renewed union.
