My Dear Destiny Episode 31 Recap
> My Dear Destiny Recap
In a dilapidated house, Qiqi tended to a wounded Lv Ao, cutting her hand to draw blood for his healing. Recalling Lv Ao’s words before he lost consciousness, Qiqi was determined to save her beloved. Lv Ao eventually woke up, but Qiqi was already gone, having decided to leave. He discovered fruits and water left outside the door, realizing they were from Qiqi. He called out for her, but she did not respond.
Meanwhile, Wei Xun, witnessing the turmoil in the palace, pledged his allegiance to Tai Fei. Little Yinzi, who had been knocked out by San Floral, awoke and rushed to Wei Xun, urging him to save Lv Ao and Chou Niangniang. However, Wei Xun had Yinzi thrown into prison, declaring his loyalty to the new King. In prison, Yinzi was surprised to find Lian Qiao in the adjacent cell, and mixed emotions filled them both.
San Floral realized that combining the Blood Jade with the Blood Drinking Sword would grant ultimate power. She remembered that Qiqi still possessed the Blood Jade and resolved to capture her. Ling grew anxious to find her brother. Wu Ji, who was wounded by Dark Witch Power, was being cared for by Ling. She had retrieved difficult-to-find herbs for him, injuring her hand in the process. Wu Ji suggested that Jie being with San Floral could be dangerous.
Jie's subordinates, under his orders, prevented Ling from leaving. Black Cloud, noticing Ling's distress, sent Black Feather to scout for news of Jie. During their time together, Ling tried to maintain distance from Wu Ji, believing he still harbored feelings for Chou Qingli. Wu Ji, however, confessed his strong affection for Ling, explaining that while he had grown up protecting Qiqi (Chou Qingli), he realized after seeing Lv Ao and Qiqi together that he had mistaken habit for affection.
Ling remained skeptical, believing his feelings were only pity and sympathy. Lv Che successfully ascended the throne. San Floral, still impersonating Ling Fei, was instructed by Tai Fei to continue doing so until Lv Che announced Ling Fei's suicide. Afterward, she could resume her true identity as the Witch Tribe leader and formally visit Yiqi. San Floral informed Lv Che that he had already been recognized by the Witch Tribe as Yiqi's new monarch.
She then expressed her hope that Lv Che would capture Qiqi within Yiqi territory. Lv Che, though showing a moment of hesitation, agreed to her demand. Black Feather returned with devastating news, informing Ling that Jie and his comrades had been killed. Ling initially refused to believe him, dismissing it as a lie. She ran out of the room to find her brother, only to discover Jie's body hanging for public display at the city gate.
Only then did she accept the tragic truth. Ling remembered her brother’s comforting words, lamenting that no one would pamper her anymore. As citizens began to throw vegetables at Jie’s body, Ling ran forward to intervene, but Wu Ji quickly intercepted her to protect her and prevent their identities from being exposed. Later, Wu Ji promised to comfort Ling even better than Jie had.
However, Ling reiterated her belief that Wu Ji only felt pity and sympathy for her, not love, and insisted he leave and no longer care for her. When Wu Ji refused, Ling provocatively claimed she only pursued him out of a desire for conquest and would soon grow bored. Wu Ji saw through her pretense and passionately kissed her, declaring he would never leave her. That night, Wu Ji awoke to find Ling gone.
He deduced she had gone to retrieve Jie's body and quickly went to the city gate. Ling had already used a flying knife to kill the soldiers guarding the body. Wu Ji arrived, telling her the body was a fake, a ploy to lure Beicang people into a trap. He damaged the mask on the body to prove it. The real Jie's body, meanwhile, was hidden in San Floral’s room.
San Floral remarked that she would give him a grand burial once she became the ruler of the world. Lv Che, observing her, noted that she appeared to be a compassionate person. San Floral dismissed this, saying she merely couldn't bear to leave an acquaintance unburied. She then inquired about Lv Che’s coronation ceremony. Lv Che stated it would be inappropriate to hold it so soon after his royal brother’s recent death.
Meanwhile, Tai Fei advised Lv Che to secure his succession by having children, suggesting he take more consorts. Lv Che agreed, asking her to select women from influential families who could help stabilize his rule.
