Mr. Tang, idle and unengaged, sat to the side secretly taking pictures of Cheng Yao with his phone.

Cheng Yao was focused on analyzing the case and didn’t notice. As noon approached, her stomach growled with hunger. Sitting beside her, Qian Heng heard it and, using the excuse of passing documents, sent Cheng Yao out of the meeting room with his briefcase to get something to eat. Back at the hotel, Cheng Yao messaged Qian Heng to ask for some information. Since Qian Heng was showering, he didn’t see the message.

Cheng Yao thought he had fainted from hunger and sent porridge to his room. Wearing only a towel, Qian Heng was preparing to work overtime. After tasting the millet porridge, he commented that it wasn’t as good as Cheng Yao’s cooking. Cheng Yao immediately went to make porridge herself. Watching her busy figure, Qian Heng leaned back in his chair and fell asleep—it felt just like the days they shared an apartment.

The next day, Tang Bing specially invited Qian Heng and Cheng Yao to a meal at a five-star hotel. He had prepared good wine. Qian Heng directly stated that he did not drink during work hours, but Tang Bing kept urging him to drink. Cheng Yao knew Qian Heng had stomach issues and couldn’t handle alcohol, so she considered drinking on his behalf.

She suddenly remembered how she had quit her previous job because she hated social engagements—this situation felt all too familiar. But Tang Bing was a client worth hundreds of millions, so she couldn’t act on impulse. Just as she picked up the wine glass, Qian Heng suddenly stopped her and told Tang Bing that he did not allow his employees to drink during work.

Tang Bing kept trying to persuade them, but Qian Heng firmly stated that his principles were non-negotiable. The atmosphere turned extremely awkward, and Tang Bing had no choice but to drop it. After the meal, Qian Heng told Cheng Yao not to bring her old work habits to Junheng. Winning cases depends on professionalism.

Back in the room, while Cheng Yao was video chatting with Li Mengting, Tang Bing’s assistant messaged her, asking her to come to the meeting room to help organize and supplement some materials. Cheng Yao thought about checking with Qian Heng, but didn’t want to bother him over something minor, so she went alone. Tang Bing had been waiting in the meeting room for a while.

When Cheng Yao arrived, he sent his assistant away under the pretense of fetching a document. Then he asked Cheng Yao to help fix the router. As she crawled under the table to adjust the wires, Tang Bing began to make inappropriate physical advances, with suggestive words and actions. Thinking quickly, Cheng Yao took out her phone and recorded Tang Bing’s perverted behavior, then took the opportunity to flee the meeting room.

Cheng Yao was about to upload the video online when Qian Heng suddenly knocked on the door to print some documents. Upon seeing the video, Qian Heng furiously stormed into the meeting room and gave Tang Bing a beating. When Tang Bing threatened to call the police, Qian Heng laid out the consequences, forcing Tang Bing to sign a termination of the engagement agreement.

Afterwards, Qian Heng dragged Cheng Yao out of the hotel and scolded her for meeting Tang Bing alone without his permission. Though it was a reprimand, Cheng Yao felt deeply warmed by his concern.
