Gu Bo confidently declared that her book would outsell all others and proposed a bet: if her book sold out completely, she would have to marry him. Finding the idea impossible, Xia Di jokingly countered that if it actually happened, she would be the one to "marry" him, a deal Gu Bo eagerly accepted. Xu Yiren visited Mr. Fang, bringing him a homemade soup.
Mr. Fang, aware of her true intentions, acknowledged that she had come for Fang Zhiyou's reply regarding the apology to the Li family. When asked for her opinion, Xu Yiren advised him not to offer an insincere apology, as it would only cause Fang Zhiyou more pain. Mr. Fang admitted he would not change his mind, indicating he would likely disappoint them.
As it was time for his medication, Xu Yiren offered to retrieve his two pills and discreetly concealed one in her hand. Meanwhile, He Yuwen, Fangyuan's Executive Administrative Assistant, proactively approached Mr. Wei of Fond Architectural Engineering. She learned that they were seeking bids for a cultural tourism project and presented Fangyuan's qualifications. Mr. Wei expressed awareness of Fang Zhiyou and the rumors surrounding his departure from Liangshan, where he was once He Yuliang's most promising student.
He Yuwen, revealing that He Yuliang is her father, stressed that their personal issues should not influence professional judgment. She highlighted Fang Zhiyou's impressive portfolio and challenged Mr. Wei to consider his talent, leading him to agree to further consideration. While caring for his own father, Li Zhe noticed the man holding a small paper boat with "I'm sorry" written on it. This triggered a childhood memory of folding boats with Fang Zhiyou.
Later, Xu Yiren confided in He Yuwen about taking Mr. Fang's pill, expressing her fear of what the truth might be and the pain it would cause Fang Zhiyou. He Yuwen reassured her that the truth cannot be hidden and offered to have a friend in the hospital test the pill, which Xu Yiren hesitantly accepted. Xu Yiren presented Fang Zhiyou with the Request for Proposal for the Zhiwu Academy, Fond Architectural Engineering's cultural tourism project.
She reminded him of his long-standing interest in designing academies and pointed out that another colleague could manage the ongoing project, allowing Fang Zhiyou to focus on this new opportunity. Fang Zhiyou, however, was hesitant, explaining that the project was a shared dream with Li Zhe, and he was unsure how to pursue it alone. Xu Yiren encouraged him not to abandon his dream, expressing her admiration for a related design he had created five years prior.
Subsequently, He Yuwen delivered the test results to Xu Yiren, confirming that Mr. Fang's pill was merely ordinary vitamins. Xu Yiren confronted Mr. Fang, who admitted to orchestrating a lie. He confessed to deliberately letting her see his medicine bottle and involving Fang Shiyu in his birthday plans, all to convince Fang Zhiyou that he had Alzheimer's. He justified this deception as a desperate measure to bring his son back home.
He implored Xu Yiren not to reveal the truth, fearing he would lose his son for good. Later, Fang Zhiyou noticed Xu Yiren's distress and reflected on his complicated feelings for his father, acknowledging both resentment and deep care. Fang Zhiyou later proposed to Xu Yiren, promising to marry her and give her a home just for the two of them once the issues with his father and Li Zhe were resolved.
Xu Yiren was taken aback by the suddenness, but Fang Zhiyou took her non-refusal as acceptance. Meanwhile, at the library, Xia Di excitedly informed Gu Bo that her book had sold out completely. She decided to throw a large celebratory party and insisted that Fang Zhiyou attend, and Gu Bo enthusiastically volunteered to organize it. Mr. Wei commended He Yuwen's capabilities, acknowledging she was instrumental in securing Fangyuan's spot in the bidding for the Zhiwu Academy project.
He informed Fang Zhiyou that only three companies were selected: Fangyuan, Liangshan, and Qingxuan Design. Despite Fangyuan's lack of experience in similar projects, Fang Zhiyou confidently stated his company would deliver superior results, adding that even Xu Yiren, with her newly developed aesthetic judgment, loved his design. He then accepted He Yuwen's request to join him at Xia Di's party, viewing it as an opportunity to try something new.
At the party, Fang Shiyu and Xu Yiren were already present, with Shiyu excitedly meeting her idol, Xia Di. Gu Bo orchestrated a grand surprise for Xia Di, presented in a large box, creating a buzz of anticipation among the guests as they urged her to open it.
