He Yuwen was experiencing severe stomach pain but tried to conceal her discomfort, preferring to work rather than seek medical attention. Xu Yiren, along with Sha Sha, urged her to go to the hospital, with Xu Yiren fabricating a story about a friend who suffered a stomach perforation after ignoring similar symptoms. Although initially resistant, He Yuwen eventually agreed to be driven to the hospital by Xu Yiren, as calling an ambulance would have been too slow.
At the hospital, the doctor diagnosed He Yuwen with a gastric burn due to excessive alcohol consumption, advising rest for recovery. He Yuwen then confronted Xu Yiren, stating she knew the story was made up to scare her, and warned her not to use such tactics again. She then pressed Xu Yiren about her whereabouts the previous night, suspecting she was with Fang Zhiyou.
Xu Yiren began to explain that she and Fang Zhiyou had been scouting a resort for the Moon Bay project when their car had a flat tire, leaving them stranded overnight, but He Yuwen cut her off and instructed her to leave. Later, Fang Zhiyou visited He Yuwen at the hospital, bringing flowers and showing deep concern for her well-being.
He Yuwen complained about the unreasonable demands from Dasheng, which led to her overdrinking, but insisted she had to sign the contract for Square & Circle, where she holds shares. Fang Zhiyou expressed his disapproval of her sacrificing her health for work, while Xu Yiren observed their close interaction, appearing disheartened. Meanwhile, Li Zhe learned that the elementary school teacher of the girl he met years ago had retired and was currently on a two-week trip to Thailand.
He immediately wanted to book a flight to find her, but his assistant reminded him of his imminent new role at Dasheng and the ongoing situation with Square & Circle. Li Zhe relented, instructing his assistant to inform him as soon as the teacher returned. Later, Gu Bo, having received his salary, treated Xia Di and Xu Yiren to a celebratory dinner.
At the restaurant, the manager recognized Gu Bo, much to Gu Bo's subtle chagrin, as he preferred to keep his family's wealth discreet. The manager offered them a complimentary, expensive featured dish and announced a couple's discount: fifty percent off and free drinks for couples who took a "close photo" at the restaurant and posted it on social media.
Xu Yiren promptly suggested that Xia Di and Gu Bo take a photo together to avail the discount, which they did, posing with a heart gesture. During the meal, Gu Bo revealed he borrowed his car from a "gold player" friend he met through gaming. Xia Di expressed her aversion to wealthy men, stating they either become corrupt or lose their ambition.
Xu Yiren then playfully questioned Gu Bo about who he would save if she and Fang Zhiyou both fell into a river, to which Gu Bo quickly replied he would save Xu Yiren first, because Fang Zhiyou was a university swimming champion. Xu Yiren then asked Gu Bo if he thought Fang Zhiyou and He Yuwen were a good match. Gu Bo confidently asserted that He Yuwen's feelings were unrequited, describing Fang Zhiyou as completely oblivious to romantic matters.
He reasoned that if Fang Zhiyou truly liked He Yuwen, they would have been together years ago given their long acquaintance and her obvious affection. Despite Xu Yiren's claims of indifference, Gu Bo advised her not to deceive herself about her own feelings. The scheduled meeting between Square & Circle and Dasheng for the Moon Bay project was postponed as Dasheng's representatives failed to appear.
Eventually, a Dasheng assistant arrived, announcing the unilateral termination of their contract and their willingness to pay the default fee. The Square & Circle team was taken aback, only then learning that Mr. Qi had been transferred and Li Zhe was now in full charge of Dasheng. Li Zhe then directly confronted Fang Zhiyou, asserting that his actions were intended to make Fang Zhiyou experience the agony of being betrayed at the last moment.
The Square & Circle team expressed their frustration at the lack of time to find a new modeling company. Fang Zhiyou, recognizing the irreversible nature of the situation, knew Dasheng would not cooperate and that Li Zhe had likely already contacted other companies to ensure Square & Circle could not secure the project. He Yuwen later confronted Chen Qiming, accusing him of complicity in the Dasheng situation, even suspecting her father had used him to sabotage Square & Circle.
Chen Qiming, hurt by her distrust, denied any prior knowledge of Mr. Qi's transfer and defended his integrity, pointing out he wouldn't have introduced the project if he intended harm. He Yuwen, realizing her error, apologized and asked Chen Qiming to investigate Li Zhe, noting his apparent vendetta against Fang Zhiyou.
At a subsequent meeting, Fang Zhiyou proposed an innovative solution for the Moon Bay project: instead of relying on unavailable 3D models, they would present design concept maps using watercolor paintings, focusing on the overall style and concept rather than intricate details or functions. The team expressed skepticism, as this approach was unprecedented and the design complex.
However, Fang Zhiyou insisted on highlighting the most unique and appealing aspects to buy time, planning to secure a new company for 3D modeling later. He pointed out that their design's emphasis on nature aligned well with watercolor. Xu Yiren arranged to meet Li Zhe for dinner, directly asking him why Dasheng had terminated the contract, arguing that Fang Zhiyou's advanced design would also benefit Dasheng.
Li Zhe, however, suggested his actions were personal, not business-related, stating he was simply reclaiming what he deserved. He warned Xu Yiren not to approach him again on Fang Zhiyou's behalf and left abruptly without further explanation, telling her to seek him out for her own reasons next time. Shortly after, Li Zhe called Fang Zhiyou, taunting him for sending a woman to plead on his behalf and calling him a coward.
Upon learning that Xu Yiren had met with Li Zhe, Fang Zhiyou confronted her angrily, reminding her that her role as his assistant was to execute orders and not interfere in company matters. He explicitly forbade her from having any further contact with Li Zhe or anyone from Dasheng, dismissing her protests that Li Zhe was a friend.
