Double Love Episode 2 Recap
> Double Love Recap
Following the mutual water-splashing incident, Han Jingmo's staff quickly escorted him away to clean up in the lounge, urging the camera crew to stop filming. Meanwhile, Lu Wanwan went to the restroom to tidy herself. Her friend, Xiaoyan, called, reminding her of an important second audition that day. However, Lu Wanwan, still disheveled and covered in water, lamented that she was already "finished" and couldn't make it to the audition.
Xiaoyan had to cut the call short as she was called away. Han Jingmo, now impeccably dressed, began his interview, calmly stating his goal was to become a truly excellent actor and that winning awards would "just go with the flow," not be the end of his hard work. Lu Wanwan, still fuming, internally declared she wasn't done with him.
The incident of Lu Wanwan splashing water quickly became a trending topic online, drawing the attention of her brother, Lu Guanghan. He summoned Lu Wanwan, demanding to know if she was responsible. When she insisted that Han Jingmo had splashed her first, Lu Guanghan, angered by the perceived slight against his sister, declared he would "rest" Han Jingmo, preventing him from taking any roles for six months, even suggesting a year.
He scorned Lu Wanwan's tendency to "only care about looks," finding her hopeless despite her five-year-long admiration for Han Jingmo. Realizing the severity of such a punishment on an artist's career, Lu Wanwan quickly softened her stance, pleading with her brother not to mix personal grudges with career attacks, even resorting to imitating a dog to beg him.
Despite her plea, she still felt traumatized, noting that every time she washed her hair, it reminded her of being splashed, and she inwardly warned Han Jingmo that his good looks wouldn't allow him to get away with everything, threatening to un-fan him. During his morning run, Han Jingmo encountered a stray kitten. Despite being allergic to cat hair, which caused him to sneeze repeatedly, he carefully put the cat into a cage.
He tried to call his assistant, Song Chi, to take the cat to a pet shop, but Song Chi was on leave and already at the airport. Han Jingmo, left to care for the cat himself, humorously mused that he felt like he had been "splashed" by the cat all night, connecting it to the previous day's incident.
Later, Lu Wanwan, playing her game as the character Chu He, witnessed an in-game confession from a player named "Playboy" to "Ink White." She commented on the confessor's commendable courage, expecting a "miserable end" for them. Ink White swiftly rejected the confession, stating he already had someone he liked, sparking intense speculation among other players.
Gossip quickly spread, with many suspecting Chu He was Ink White's romantic interest, especially since Ink White had never teamed up with a female player before. Players even claimed Ink White and Chu He had "hugged tightly," which Lu Wanwan, playing Chu He, corrected by saying they had merely "bumped into each other."
She expressed frustration at becoming the subject of her own gossip, feeling like "the rumor fell on my shoulder" while she was just sitting at home, and quickly logged off. Lu Guanghan tried to arrange a dual magazine cover shoot for Lu Wanwan with another celebrity, Gu Qiaobei, emphasizing the popularity and exposure it would bring. However, Lu Wanwan flatly refused, not wanting their sibling relationship to be publicly known.
Lu Guanghan argued that many people in their circle already knew and more would find out if she signed with the agency Ying Ge, but Lu Wanwan insisted on a few more days of peace. She then curiously asked why she couldn't take photos with Han Jingmo, to which Lu Guanghan simply stated he didn't like him, a rare point of agreement for them. While out for a photoshoot, Lu Wanwan again encountered Han Jingmo.
Imagining splashing her drink on him as revenge for the previous incident, her thoughts were interrupted when Han Jingmo casually took the soy milk from her hand. He then instructed his agent not to allow staff to carry drinks around the set, citing the presence of equipment and wires as a potential hazard. Lu Wanwan, however, internally vowed that it was "never too late to take revenge."
Han Jingmo observed Lu Wanwan during her photoshoot, remarking to his agent that she had a "good image" and was "very expressive." He then surprisingly suggested that she become his temporary assistant. Lin Wei, Han Jingmo's agent, approached Lu Wanwan, explaining that Han Jingmo's regular assistant was on long leave and she needed someone to cover for two months during the winter vacation, offering a salary 20% higher than the industry average.
Despite initially feigning disinterest in working for money, Lu Wanwan quickly realized that being Han Jingmo's assistant would place her in a prime position for revenge, allowing her to repay his "water pouring" quickly. Lin Wei informed Lu Wanwan that Han Jingmo's hand was injured, which she had noticed during the basketball game, and that he wouldn't be working for about a week.
Lin Wei then gave Lu Wanwan Han Jingmo's address, stating that she would officially start the next day. Lu Wanwan, ecstatic, internally declared her intent to repay the "splashing kindness." Upon returning home, Lu Wanwan was met by a furious Lu Guanghan, who was aghast that she had agreed to be Han Jingmo's assistant. He demanded she immediately refuse the offer, calling her "out of her mind."
Lu Wanwan tried to use lack of sleep as an excuse, but he dismissed it. She then probed whether Lin Wei knew about their sibling relationship, suggesting that Lin Wei was too smart to hire a complete stranger. Despite her brother's continued insistence, Lu Wanwan firmly refused to back down, believing that revenge was best served by doing it herself, even if her brother considered it a "lame" method.
She then confirmed a meeting with Lin Wei for the next afternoon to sign the contract, reaffirming her resolve against Han Jingmo. Back in the game, Chu He was summoned by "Blades Warrior," who challenged her to a duel, accusing her of making his sister lose her "prince charming," Ink White.
Ink White, who had learned of the gossip, quickly messaged Chu He, confirming the situation and offering to guide her, noting that his hand was injured and it wasn't convenient for him to operate. Chu He, expressing concern for his hand, was surprised to find out he was injured. She then had a startling realization: Ink White's hand injury and Han Jingmo's hand injury had occurred at the exact same time. She found the coincidence too significant to ignore.
Despite Chu He's initial overconfidence, boasting about her "unique bones" and martial arts genius, Ink White bluntly told her she couldn't defeat Blades Warrior. He then instructed her to complete some World Quests, having her do the operations due to his injured hand, telling her to deal with the brigands herself. Chu He, determined to "protect Genius" and brag about it for a lifetime, fought enthusiastically. Other players commented on Ink White seemingly teaching Chu He, finding it endearing.
However, Ink White later criticized her basic combat moves, remarking that they were "not as good as automatic combat." Chu He, surprised by the existence of an "automatic combat mode," quickly made an excuse about an important offline matter for Han Jingmo—a reshoot for a previously finished urban drama—and logged off, vowing to "recharge her energy." The next morning, Lu Wanwan arrived at Han Jingmo's home with specially prepared spicy pan-fried buns.
Han Jingmo was surprised to see her, initially closing the door and calling Lin Wei, annoyed that his assistant had arrived without warning. Lin Wei explained she wanted Lu Wanwan to adapt quickly and thought he would be pleased since he chose her. Han Jingmo reluctantly let Lu Wanwan in. He casually ate the extra-spicy buns she offered, claiming they were "delicious" and showing no reaction to the spiciness.
Curious, Lu Wanwan took a bite herself and immediately raced to the bathroom. Moments later, Han Jingmo rushed out to the fridge for water. Seeing his sudden scramble for water, Lu Wanwan secretly smiled, realizing his earlier composure was merely an act. She noted that Han Jingmo was an excellent actor. Later, Lu Wanwan accompanied Han Jingmo to foster the kitten.
Despite Lu Wanwan's claim that she couldn't drive, Han Jingmo took the wheel, driving them to the film set while she rode in the passenger seat. At the set, Han Jingmo, in his "Mr. Han" persona, meticulously assigned Lu Wanwan a series of tasks, from coordinating with the artist coordinator and deputy director to checking costumes and confirming hair and makeup. Lu Wanwan efficiently completed all the tasks.
When she finally tried to rest, Han Jingmo called her over, complaining first about being thirsty and asking for porridge, then about being cold and wanting warm water, and finally about being hot and needing a small fan. Lu Wanwan, internally questioning whether it was too late to resign, diligently fanned him with a small palm fan she found. When she thought he had fallen asleep, she prepared to exact some revenge, but just as she raised her hand, Han Jingmo's eyes snapped open.
